  1. I agree that it’s never easy to get promotion from the Championship but we should be in the mix if we are managed right. The owners, for all their faults, have shown they are willing to invest when needed. Our manager has more time to prepare than Martin did and we have a squad full of Championship players.
  2. This. If managed right we should be in an excellent position to challenge for the title next season. Should be much better prepared than last time, we’re loaded with decent Championship players and have plenty of time to get the squad ready to hit the ground running. This season is already a write-off, any activity in the January window should be with next season in mind.
  3. This. The timing from the board was appalling, they had two international breaks to pull the trigger and left it up until the festive period to act - shocking.
  4. How can you possibly say that when you don’t have a clue who’s going to leave or be signed. We have a bloated squad full of decent championship players, plus have a few we will sell for good money so are potentially in a better position than last time. Plus we don’t have Martin holding us back so surely promotion should be a formality.
  5. That’s just plain cheating.
  6. Exactly.
  7. He has obviously got his limits as a manager but I guess we will see how easy it is to bounce straight back up next year. Should be a piece of piss now we have a better manager and probably a more settled squad of Champioship players.
  8. What a load of bollocks. He was shite in the Premier League but you have to give him credit for getting us promoted at the first attempt. Do you really believe that next season we can hire any old shit manager and easily get promotion? I remember last time we went down this place was full of people saying how hard it is to bounce straight back.
  9. He deserves a run in the side but wether he is Prem quality or not remains to be seen. He definitely gives us a different dimension and unlike all our other strikers he actually causes problems for the opposition defence so we might as well give him a go. Him and Archer up front with Fernandes in the no10 position seems the logical way forward to me.
  10. First half we were good, nice to see some direct attacking play for a change and we’re unlucky not to be in the lead. But second half we were shocking and got worse with every sub he made. Tall Paul looked a threat again but we need some pace alongside him not Armstrong.
  11. Fuck me, you need to get out more. Do you really care that much what people post on here. Martinettes
  12. No but it led directly to people rioting, attacking mosques and trying to burn down a hotel.
  13. Makes no difference to me what the guy’s religion is, just don’t think it’s sensible to make assumptions and start slating a religion until the facts are know. We saw with Southport how that can end.
  14. Exactly, which is why it makes sense to wait for the evidence to see what his motive was before throwing blame around to suit your own agenda. We’ve been down this road before with Southport.
  15. The Mail is reporting that the scumbag who did it is ‘an anti-Islam, AfD-supporting doctor’. Probably best not to speculate about motive until the facts are known tho.
  16. Tend to agree with this. If he does well great, if not we can bring in a new guy in the summer how can start a fresh without relegation on his CV and the fans already on his back come the start of the Championship campaign.
  17. I like the sound of this guy, I guess nothing else matters except results now.
  18. Not sure there is any way of communicating this sort of thing without some people being pissed off, whatever they say the women are going to moan. Old people will moan about anything given the chance.
  19. Poor first half but good to see us put up a bit of a fight in the second. That disgrace of a decision by the ref at the end shows why we need VAR. You just can’t rely on the on field officials to get enough important decisions right. VAR would have a much better view of what happened than some fat, bald cunt desperately trying to keep up with play.
  20. "In the space of 16 matches, Southampton players have committed 11 errors leading directly to an opposition goal, and a further 16 that resulted in an unconverted shot by their opponents. To put that first figure in perspective, Brentford’s 10 errors leading to goals were the most by any team in the division across the entirety of last season." That is just mental.
  21. Last year’s play-off games were fantastic, definitely up there amongst my favourite games. Martin deserves credit for getting us back up at the first attempt, it’s just a shame his tactics are flawed and he either can’t or won’t change style. He seems like a nice guy, I hope he does well going forward.
  22. I would put money on whoever they hire making us worse.
  23. Lallana could be an option but I have never really had him down as the managerial type. I would probably go for a big name who's on the managerial scrapheap, someone who can put a rocket up the arse of the players and get the fans excited. We might as well have a gamble at this stage because we have nothing to lose now this season.
