I played for Saints and have also played for Spurs, Sparta Prague and AEK Athens among others, have represented my country at both junior and senior level and am currently playing top flight football. Who am I?

1976 charity shield?

This is why IMO it's a no brainer. People can be infected and not know it and given that no one at any time knows in advance wether they will cough, sneeze or breath droplets into the face of someone then it makes sense to minimise the risk, regardless of what your old dragon says. Just because the WHO says you don't NEED to wear them doesn't mean there isn't some benefit. As long as it is done in addition the other existing social distancing and hand washing etc, and people are educated about how to use them and why it has to help.

This, it's a no-brainer really, they should be compulsory when outdoors. Obviously supply is going to be a problem now though. I expect the clowns in charge over here are waiting for Boris to get back before they start going on eBay to try and find some.

No. From what I’ve read herd immunity will work in the long term but as a policy to start with it, when the government talked about it, would have been suicidal, purely because the NHS doesn’t have capacity.

No but the effect on a healthy 20 year old is likely to be the same. As long as they are not in any contact with any vulnerable people and the rest of the team are tested and clear then there is no need to cancel everything IMO. Coronavirus is not flu but it is also not Ebola. Sooner or later we will have to resume life and just except that some, and eventually most people will get it. The important thing is to shield people who are more likely to be seriously ill - that can be done whilst some young men occasionally kick a ball around a pitch.
-
Don't think you have to be so severe abut it. If a player tests positive they isolate for 14 days and the rest get tested again and carry on as usual. In a normal season if a player gets flu you don't postpone games.

**** me, it’s GCSE geography time kids.

Wow, just seen the press conference. Disinfectant, light, sun - it's like watching a 5 year old come up with ideas on what to do. Is he actually that dumb or is it just a ploy to get the average thick right-winger on his side?
-
Think this is more apt

Is that a real fact checking site though or just the Conservative HQ?

WHO Developing guidance on wet markets. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-52369878 Wet markets can be "timebombs" for epidemics, says Prof Andrew Cunningham, deputy director of science at the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). "This sort of way that we treat... animals as if they're just our commodities for us to plunder - it comes back to bite us and it's no surprise."
-
China should be held to account over this but surely the US government calling it a democratic hoax is just as much deliberate deception?
-
We're all going to get it eventually, at this stage it's just about delaying as many cases as possible and keeping the curve down.
-
From the Mail: "There were just 14 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Liverpool on Friday, March 20, but that number had jumped to 309 less than two weeks later." Would a spike be that noticeable anyway? As the government hadn't bothered to ban mass gathering anywhere people would have been spreading it at Cheltenham, music gigs, night clubs and packed bars up and down the country. Plus Liverpool and Madrid fans probably travel from all over the place.
-
If they are testing more then the percentage of deaths is bound to be lower. We are testing people once they are in hospital meaning that they are already seriously ill so a high percentage will die. The only important figure is the deaths, if we blanket tested the whole population tomorrow the amount of confirmed cases will be massive but the deaths tomorrow won’t change.

How is it hindsight? I definitely remember other European countries going into shutdown and saying we were mad not to when Boris was telling us to just sing happy birthday and wash our hands.

This.

That’s obviously just passing on what they have been told by the Chinese. I’m sure every government in the world would understand the reliability of that information.
-
This, unless they can sort a deal, but going WTO in the current situation would just be plain reckless.
-
Think they have all agreed in principle to finish the season, just don't know when or how yet. I'm guessing they can't nail down timings until UEFA decide what's happening to the Champs/Europa League etc. Think they meet next week.

Na **** em, that ‘’journo’ was just being an annoying arsehole.

Cycling on the roads is actually enjoyable.

Because they don’t want thousands of people heading into Bournemouth or similar popular locations every day. It’s not rocket science.
