Cumming's actions made the Prime Minister to go on national TV and explain how it's totally fine to drive the length of the country even if you have Covid symptoms and go on a 60 mile trip to a local beauty spot during lockdown - that's where the damage was done.

I don’t think what she did was ok, I have already said what she did was worse than Cummings - try reading next time. My point about her admitting it and apologising was that by doing so she didn’t undermine the government’s message as much as if she had lied and not apologised like Cummings. Controlling this virus depends totally on the behaviour of the public, when the people in charge are seen to be ignoring the rules then it does have an effect on people’s attitudes and behaviour - that is undeniable. Lying and acting dishonestly, or even just being perceived as doing such, only makes the situation worse.

If the government are going to carry on with these restrictions then they have to have some sort of targeted furlough scheme to help out the businesses effected. At the moment the virus is still spreading and businesses are going to go bust on a crazy scale.

If Covid was spreading rampantly though footballers then being tested twice a week means even a test with a 70% success rate would pick up on it, as it stands football has been played since July and there have only been a few cases. Anyway you can never be 100% safe unless you lock everyone up.

I don’t think your head works properly. Some masks work better than others - that is obvious. Wearing masks is only part of what you should do to avoid spreading - we all know that. Not sure how from those two facts you can conclude that masks don’t work.
