My point is that if players taking the knee irritates racist fans at least it is getting a response and maybe make them think a bit unlike the players wearing a kick it out T-shirt once a season.

The players are not calling anyone names, just making an anti-racism gesture. Not really the same thing.

Maybe it will take that to help get the message across. Putting on a Kick-it-out T-shirt before kick-off one game a season is not exactly going change anything is it?

It is true, my boss said he didn’t hire Asians because they had a chip on their shoulder, hence I wouldn’t know the names of the people who didn’t get a look in. I was in my first real job just out of Uni and wasn’t really in a position to ‘pull him up’ on anything. I don’t think it will achieve much to be honest, but it’s impossible to tell either way. I just think it’s a harmless gesture and the politics of some of the people involved within the BLM is an irrelevance. The message the players are trying to get across is obvious and an absolute good.

As you say, they are using their platform to send out a message, not sure what else you expect them to do. We all know the link between taking the knee and Black Lives Matter, and that their are some groups within that movement who have some odd and extreme ideas on how to achieve their aims. But their ideas are bizarre and they are an irrelevance and certainly shouldn’t be used as a way to undermine what is essentially a good message. No one want to defund the police, I don’t, the players don’t - it’s never going to happen. I don’t know why people are so hung up on it.

Because I have seen the lies for what they were and seen what a shit-show it has become. I got the leave argument about downward pressure on wages and overstretched public services and brought the bullshit about German car makers banging on Mercle’s door. But it turns out that the EU is more robust than I thought it was and their companies, governments and people are more concerned about keeping the free market intact than trading with us - that’s the key difference now. Also the fact that Brexit will probably be the beginning of the end of the UK - I never thought about how the split in the vote would enhance the divisions between England and the rest of the UK. I think an independent Scotland is probably now an inevitability and maybe even a United Ireland. I didn’t end up voting for a number of reasons, mainly because I was on a deadline and stuck at work until late and had to get back to see my 2 year old but also because whilst I was leave leaning I wasn’t overly bothered either way. Plus, me and the Mrs always walk down and vote together and as she was going to vote remain we would have cancelled each other out and made the whole exercise pointless.

But most players are doing it so most clearly don’t see it as political. I expect Warnock is just responding to snowflakes like you who are getting all upset over some irrelevant link to some odd obscure group.
