The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
aintforever replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Not sure there is any way of communicating this sort of thing without some people being pissed off, whatever they say the women are going to moan. Old people will moan about anything given the chance. -
Poor first half but good to see us put up a bit of a fight in the second. That disgrace of a decision by the ref at the end shows why we need VAR. You just can’t rely on the on field officials to get enough important decisions right. VAR would have a much better view of what happened than some fat, bald cunt desperately trying to keep up with play.

"In the space of 16 matches, Southampton players have committed 11 errors leading directly to an opposition goal, and a further 16 that resulted in an unconverted shot by their opponents. To put that first figure in perspective, Brentford’s 10 errors leading to goals were the most by any team in the division across the entirety of last season." That is just mental.

Last year’s play-off games were fantastic, definitely up there amongst my favourite games. Martin deserves credit for getting us back up at the first attempt, it’s just a shame his tactics are flawed and he either can’t or won’t change style. He seems like a nice guy, I hope he does well going forward.

I would put money on whoever they hire making us worse.

Lallana could be an option but I have never really had him down as the managerial type. I would probably go for a big name who's on the managerial scrapheap, someone who can put a rocket up the arse of the players and get the fans excited. We might as well have a gamble at this stage because we have nothing to lose now this season.

Not sure sure getting Wednesday to 9th in the Championship is much on an achievement, I would probably go for Cooper over Rohl. SR taking so long to get rid of Martin really has put the club in a difficult position, no-one is going to want a job where relegation is pretty much guaranteed. I would be tempted to get a short term replacement in for the rest of the season and have the new guy lined-up to take over in the summer.

Fair play to them for actually doing something.

I see Israel have taken the opportunity to steal more land. What a fucking mess. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz6lgln128xo

And he would be worth it if he somehow keeps us up. I'm not saying he will, but it would be cost effective IF he did.

£8mill is peanuts in the grand scheme of things if he gets results.
-
If we are getting results they will.

Of course anyone would want to decrease the amount of birth defects and disabled children but making it illegal to marry won't stop people shagging or getting married abroad. Fact is, even though it's weird for us in many cultures it seems to be relatively normal, just like it's been normal in the Royal family or Portsmouth. I just find it interesting that you see it as such a massive problem yet don't have a clue how many kids were born with defects last year due to cousins getting married. How can you possibly gauge the scale of the problem without knowing? Being old and having children also increases the risks of certain problems, maybe we should make old people reproducing illegal as well?
-
That doesn’t answer the question, how many married cousins have negative consequences?
-
How many people are negatively impacted by it?
-
I’m not sure how big of a problem it is, if two cousins decide they want to get married that’s up to them, doesn’t affect anyone else. Obviously two cousins having kids could cause problems but so could two old people having kids. Banning marriage won’t stop two cousins shagging if they want to so it would probably be pointless. If you are really that worried about it, my advice would be don’t shag your cousin. It could make Christmas awkward.
-
No idea, you seem to be on top of the issue, you tell me. As I said, it’s fucking weird and shouldn’t need a law to stop it. I guess if two cousins fall in love and want to get married that’s up to them, making it illegal won’t stop them shagging. I don’t really have an opinion on the legalities of it, it’s up there with transsexuals using changing rooms on level of importance to me TBH.
-
Shagging your cousin is obviously fucking weird but is it really a big problem or are just certain posters desperately trying to find a stick to beat muslims with?

The equation is simpler than that, we are down regardless of who is manager. We could hire Jurgan Klopp and give him £100mill to spend and we would still be odds on to go down. Any appointment now need to be with next season's promotion attempt in mind.
-
You can’t say Martin did shit last season in one breath, then say it’s hard to come straight back up in the other. He needs to go but give credit where it’s due, he got us promoted at the first attempt which was a good achievement.
