And he would be worth it if he somehow keeps us up. I'm not saying he will, but it would be cost effective IF he did.
-
£8mill is peanuts in the grand scheme of things if he gets results.
-
If we are getting results they will.

Of course anyone would want to decrease the amount of birth defects and disabled children but making it illegal to marry won't stop people shagging or getting married abroad. Fact is, even though it's weird for us in many cultures it seems to be relatively normal, just like it's been normal in the Royal family or Portsmouth. I just find it interesting that you see it as such a massive problem yet don't have a clue how many kids were born with defects last year due to cousins getting married. How can you possibly gauge the scale of the problem without knowing? Being old and having children also increases the risks of certain problems, maybe we should make old people reproducing illegal as well?
-
That doesn’t answer the question, how many married cousins have negative consequences?
-
How many people are negatively impacted by it?
-
I’m not sure how big of a problem it is, if two cousins decide they want to get married that’s up to them, doesn’t affect anyone else. Obviously two cousins having kids could cause problems but so could two old people having kids. Banning marriage won’t stop two cousins shagging if they want to so it would probably be pointless. If you are really that worried about it, my advice would be don’t shag your cousin. It could make Christmas awkward.
-
No idea, you seem to be on top of the issue, you tell me. As I said, it’s fucking weird and shouldn’t need a law to stop it. I guess if two cousins fall in love and want to get married that’s up to them, making it illegal won’t stop them shagging. I don’t really have an opinion on the legalities of it, it’s up there with transsexuals using changing rooms on level of importance to me TBH.

Shagging your cousin is obviously fucking weird but is it really a big problem or are just certain posters desperately trying to find a stick to beat muslims with?

The equation is simpler than that, we are down regardless of who is manager. We could hire Jurgan Klopp and give him £100mill to spend and we would still be odds on to go down. Any appointment now need to be with next season's promotion attempt in mind.
-
You can’t say Martin did shit last season in one breath, then say it’s hard to come straight back up in the other. He needs to go but give credit where it’s due, he got us promoted at the first attempt which was a good achievement.
-
What a load of bollocks.
-
Difference is Martin was successful in his first season in charge so I get the impression they got carried away with the promotion and thought they had found the new Pep. SR have nailed themselves to his mast and probably know it’s a case of make this a success or they are screwed. The problem is there is no DOF, they were probably wanking over the possession stats when everyone who knows football could see that his style of play would be a struggle in the Prem. He deserved a shot at it but a competent DOF would have known the likely result of him not changing his style and had a few options lined up. Russ should have got the bullet at the first international break and the new man brought in the next day.

Depends what they win and at what cost. The below copied from Reddit: In the past 2-3 years they've caused Sweden and Finland to join NATO lost most of Armenia influence, Kazakhstan playing their own game and now unrest in Georgia about to lose Syria with Khmeimim airbase and Tartus naval base (established by Soviets in 1971, the only port other than Black Sea ones for Mediterranean operations including submarines) lost/used up most of their massive Soviet heavy weapons stocks lost most of weapons exports and influence that goes with that (India turning towards US/France/others), likely permanently lost half of their hydrocarbon exports (and mostly high margin ones, to Europe) and etc lost bug chunk of their foreign currency funds (some being given to Ukraine) and wasted a good bit of their gold and other reserves that they painstakingly built on oil/gas profits their oil/gas profits are likely never going to be as big as before, given the damage to the industry economy in general slowly going back to 90ies And of course, forever ruined relationship with their once-brothers in Ukraine (once fundamental part of Soviet Union, where a lot of the best Soviet tech was developed and manufactured), caused incredible suffering that will never be forgotten and likely permanently pushed Ukraine into western sphere of influence.

Looks like losing their bases and an ally in the Middle East could be another consequence of Putin’s war.
-
That’s the only reason I can think of for the delay, they are getting rid of the whole lot. Seems little point in just sacking the manager when those above him are clearly clueless.
-
They need to put him out if his misery.
-
I lost count of the amount of times we could have got it forward quick and caused them problems only for the player to turn around and pass backwards. Watching this lot play is so frustrating - you don’t score unless you take a few risks FFS.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
aintforever replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
True, but we all know how our system works. The majority vote blue or red like a bunch of zombies regardless of who’s on the poll card or how well they have done. Unless Starmer shits the bed Truss style it would probably end up with a Lib-Lab coalition at worst, with Reform just splitting the Tory vote. Reform need to merge with the Tories to stand any chance of power. -
Totally agree. We are all perfectly entitled to have an opinion on religion though.
-
I'm not judging Morsy, just criticising religion. Do you not think there are elements of Islam and Christianity that are homophobic?
-
No, as usual you are wrong. I said Islam CAN be backward (like many religions). Morsy has not even explained his views so I can't possibly judge him. I just think it's a good cause, if he chose not to wear one because he didn't like the colour clash with his kit I would still think it is unfortunate that he chose to undermine a good cause.
-
I respect anyone's right not to wear a symbol, just like I respect that Irish fella's right not to wear the poppy - I don't have to agree with their views though.
-
I don't believe in hell, that's another invention from a fairytale written centuries ago. Recent research has found that one in four LGBTQ+ people do not feel welcome at live sports events - that's unfortunate.
-
I said can be, try reading. Christianity and other religions can be as well. It's inevitable as they are generally based on texts written centuries ago.
