  1. I agree with the posts saying we're struggling financially. And with those saying if JWP wants to leave and we get a big enough offer, we'll let him. I find the arguments over which clubs are "big" clubs tedious. The trolling is mainly on match threads and after we've lost.
  2. Indeed. Fair enough. I don't get my knickers in a twist. I just get fed up with obvious trolls (not directed at you), those (probably not even Saints fans) who only want to criticise and others with no realistic understanding of the finances of a football club in the real world. To be honest, I've virtually given up with this forum as a waste of time and only dropped in out of curiosity to see if it had got any better, but it hasn't.
  3. I have read the thread. The best you've offered is a claim that it came from someone close to his family. That may convince you, but not me.
  4. This. Villa have no more prospects than Saints of winning anything this season.
  5. Did you ever say how you got this information?
  6. If they really only value him at 25-30M, we won't let him go. I'd guess they're trying to tempt him with big wages in the hope he'll then press to go, hoping to get away with a low fee. I think he's very committed to Saints, but will be interesting.
  7. They also described the bid as derisory, which probably my eans we'd need double.
  8. The bid was rejected out of hand with the comment that we have no interest in selling.
  9. Out of interest, how do you know?
  10. Except that Ben White has been selected ahead of him. I've gut mixed feelings. JWP clearly a better choice but gives Prowsy a rest.
  11. We did in Feb 2017. Think it was the Europa season
  12. I simply don't agree. The passing sideways and backwards has almost becone a required statement for his detractors but it's nonsense. He looks for forward passes, even makes forward runs but if there's nothing on, pass sideways or back to retain possession, draw the opposition out and start again. I'll just agree to disagree.
  13. If you can't see what else is in his game, you're not watching. If you need help, tackling, tireless running to track back and always be available for a pass, much improved passing and just the right amount of aggression and niggly getting in players' faces.
  14. Ralph has repeatedly said he's confident Danny is staying. I think he knew Danny couldn't last 90 mins and also wanted to look at Adams/Tella and Ings/Tella together. To be honest, in a game that wasn't critical it was as good a time as any to try it. But proves Ings/Adams is still the top combo. Once Romeu is back and paired with JWP, I'd like to see Tella, Armstrong, Ings and Adams as a front four
  15. I agree. VAR just gives them another way to be biased.
  16. That what I was wondering. Agree about the first Leeds goal - didn't seem to be any meaningful check. And the Chelsea pen. But then it went into overdrive first to find a faint reason not to disallow MU's goal, then to try to give Fulham's offside. Surprise, surprise. The only one it got right was Chelsea's pen. But Dean's reffing was ridiculous after that - free kick given the wrong way, mass brawl ignored except for one yellow. I really get worried about corruption and the huge financial interests of keeping certain teams at the top.
  17. He should be in. He did little wrong tonight.
  18. And they drew line after line to try to get Fulham's goal offside but couldn't manage it.
  19. Think you might as well rensne this thread Taking a Knee and move it to the Lounge. Then we can have a match thread.
  20. Sorry to interrupt with an on-topic post, but I'd like to see: McCarthy KWP Salisu Vestergaard Stephens JWP Armstrong Tella Djenepo Adams Ings Can easily change into a 343 or 523 with Djenepo at LB Romeu, Walcott, Diallo, Obafemi, Forster, Bednarek, Redmond
  21. I wasn't impressed. He was anonymous in the first half and apart from the goal, which was a mishit sliced shot, he looked out of his league.
  22. Anyway, anyone else think we're playing a 343? Or at least 3412?
  23. Burnley win. Get rid of any faint possibility of relegation then play with some freedom on Tuesday, try out friinge players and hopefully end the season strongly.
  24. Had a great game. Looks useful
  25. We were expecting a red after 10 mins, so had him on the bench for the reorganisation.
