  1. Because he's also our best RB. It's a question of whether Smallbone is a stronger replacement in midfield than Valery or KWP would be at FB. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  2. Can only think it's this. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  3. Palace winning. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
  4. If so, we need a back four of JWP Stephens Bednarek Bertrand. Possibly with Romeu instead of Smallbone for this one. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. I think the overall opinion leans towards optimistic. If we can keep Antonio quiet (and I'd play JWP at RB as I think Antonio would play on the left and target either Valery or KWP) and defend set pieces, which is their strength, we can outplay them in other areas. They don't have the quickest defence and if we can get Long running in behind and Djenepo running at them, we'll make chances. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. Neither am I. Some posters seem determined to stick to the contention that all our players are rubbish. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  8. Yes. I'm looking forward (as always) to the next issue. Maybe he just has a life beyond League 1 minus 10 that occasionally gets in the way. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. Hi JBS. Thanks for that. Yes I noticed too that he was on the left tonight. Would still like to see JWP at RB. He's the sort of strong bullying player our diminutive defenders struggle against and we'll need JWP's new-found mean streak. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. When we made 28 chances in the last game? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  11. Snodgrass off too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  12. Soucek off injured. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  13. Liverpool look impatient, as though they thought they'd walk it after the early goal. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. I can't make this one. Mixed feelings: I think, or at least hope, that we can get a good win and will be sorry to miss that. But access to the stadium is pretty awful, no decent pubs nearby, atmosphere is non-existent and view of the game ridiculously bad. There are no good seats. I've been twice, although after the first time I said never again, but gave it a second chance. Mistake. Please let them.be relegated so I don't have a decision to make next season. Would be hilarious to see the place half empty in the Championship. They struggle to make the place feel like a football stadium when it's full (because it's designed for athletics). Half empty, it'll be like a morgue. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Not really. They're a few points above us but we've beaten SU away and had the misfortune to play Burnley twice in conditions that totally favoured their game. It's not just about the talent of individuals. All three teams play as a team and we've improved massively in that respect. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. I stand corrected, but still liked the balance of the team on Saturday and wouldn't rush to change it. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. So we better hope he's back this week to get injured before we play Newcastle the next week. [emoji3525] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. Not at all. I didn't say that. Cedric was going in the summer anyway, so what's the problem? We've reinvented JWP as a very good RB and made an opportunity for Smallbone in midfield. All good. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. The point is, at the moment, JWP is our best fit RB, as well as being possibly our best CM. The question is whether Smallbone or Romeu as cover for JWP in midfield is stronger than Valery or KWP (at present) replacing him at RB. Valery's recovery is going to take time. KWP is clearly raw. I'd stick with JWP at RB with Smallbone/Romeu in midfield. Long term, who knows. It's common for players to develop and find different positions. Maybe RB is JWP's best position. 20. Difficult call. Yes, would like JWP back in midfield, but he's our best RB at the moment. After Smallbone's game yesterday, I'd keep the same team and encourage JWP to add Antonio to his pocket collection. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  21. Generating any sort of atmosphere in that abomination of a stadium is near-on impossible. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  22. Wouldn't call it that. It included beating Inter, but agree it was ultimately disappointing as we were one goal shy of a last 32 place. The strange Fonte situation didn't help, nor some of Puel's negative tactics. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  23. Fair enough, if you're going back that far! Still think dozens is an exaggeration. And apologies if you're not actually belittling the performance. And to answer your question, I'd have said Sunderland in the 8-0, although they did of course win the return game. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  24. I'd say Villa were poor because we didn't let them play. We were by far the better team. From your last paragraph (with which I disagree: we've had some disappointing performances under Ralph, but few - possibly only one - that could be called inept) this seems like an attempt to discredit Saints by suggesting we only won because the opposition were awful. 25. They may have talented players but they don't make a team. No cohesion. No team spirit. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
