I'm Totally Knackered with the stress.
-
Could the SOS appeal - come or we're bankrupt and out of business - have possibly boosted these? But I do accept NPs record wasn't brilliant, but he pulled the team together, had the fans behind him: just wish he'd been given a full season.
-
Dare we hope it means something's close and there's an embargo for now? (Must stop this optimism. Hope is a dangerous thing)
-
Remember the last game of the 07/08 season? Pearson's name was the one sung long after the game ended. He had charisma, respect of players and fans and would have done the job well enought to get a decent crowd in and keep us up. But he wasn't Lowe's own appointment ...... end of. And I think he'll do well next season.

It's all gone very quiet, and perhaps that's not bad news. If the deadline was "end of play" today, which I suppose could be any time but we must be close to it, and there's no formal announcement it means something's still going on. I would like to guess it's a battle between a stadium-only bid and Pinnacle with the former offering a better immediate return but without the potential of a continuing football club. Fry has to take the best deal he can get, but which of these could he persuade creditors to accept? Or is he pushing Pinnacle because there really is another "mystery" possiblity? Having said that, I'll probably look very stupid in 30 mins when he announces that all bidders have failed/withdrawn. But for now my cup's still half full.

So do I but she's not usually available Fridays,
-
Think he would be excellent and as good as we could hope to get. But.... (and it's painful to say it) would he leave Exeter for a team starting on -10?
-
Says it all really. Totally agree. If we had kept Pearson I do not believe we we would be in danger of relegation or broke. Thanks Rupert.

Massive. The fat lady is definitely now clearing her voice. A win Monday is a must and have to hope Norwich and Forest lose. If we lose and Forest win, it's as good as over

Just in from the game. Up to the last minute was still thinking of staying in, watching on Sky and saving $50 or so. But thought we wouldn't have many there so owed it to the team. So much for that. Awful start, not prepared at all. Would that have happened under Pearson? No. Davis seems to have lost confidence after the first Watford goal and he's saved us all season. 8 goals conceded in a week doesn't give me any hope. Hard to find any positives. Perry quite good positionally, but we were 2 down by the time he started. Saga ran his heart out, but no support. Why did DMG come off? Agree with criticusm of Smith. Either get an early cross in or attack the defence, not stand still while they get organised then lose the ball or float yet another easy predictable ball in. BWP far better bet. I think Wotte has lost the plot just like Poortvliet did. Team seemed wrong, tactics (if there were any) wrong, team not psyched up at all. I am depressed.

I was slightly cheered by a friend's comment. "Whatever happens, at least we won't be Pompey"

I'm in. Posted to all friends, even 3 vaguely civilised Manure fans met on the train last Jan!

More to the point, what's the chance of him buying the football club?
-
Parrots eat 'em all? (Though I'd answer to save anyone else getting the abuse).
-
The Wellington on Bennett's Hill just off New Street near the station is an excellent real ale place, but a good 30-40 minute walk from the ground. Anyone know what colour we're playing in?
-
Is Liptak better than the forgotten man Lancashire?
-
Woud we be looking to buy players if about to go into administration?
Shroppie replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
If so, seems strange that he's the new club captain. I assume he agreed to it? -
You are of course correct, but the end result was effectively the same since, from all reports, NP was hoping to stay and wasn't making unreasonable demands. (Except from perhaps wanting to pick and run his own team )
-
Felt very depressed watching the game last night thinking what could have been, what SHOULD have been at SMS this season. With NP we would now be at leaset mid-table, and probably higher, and yes, with the team we have now. Leicester were a determined, fit, committed team. They didn't go round and round in circles playing total pretty football, but it was good football, contructive, varied and positive. When they attacked there were always numbers forward, plyers wide and options. They always looked like scoring. When they needed to defend, they got back in numbers and were solid. And they kept going to the end. No coincidence that they scored twice in the last half hour or so. I remain convinced that the sacking of Nigel to be replaced with a pawn is Lowe's single most disgraceful act, and for that he will never have my respect or support again.

No news on his clearance yet .....
-
Respect your view and accept he has many strengths. I like him a lot as a player and the only important thing is he plays.
-
The choice is North or South, I assume?
-
I wouldn't. Although lone striker may not be his natural role, he holds the ball up well and should bring support players into play much more than McG. Also he will work the opposition defence when they have the ball. FWIW, I agree with the poster who suggested we sould try Skacel in the hole (once back from suspension, if he's ever considered again after his comments) since he shouldn't be needed at LB now. Otherwise I'd use Lallana or even Surman there.

For me the most important name is Saga

This must be the end of total football. It's clear for all to see that we play, at best, slightly pretty but ineffective partial football in the middle of the pitch. We don't do defending or scoring, and we're not going to survive with JP. Oh for NP now !!!!!!!!
