I'm not at all sure. Unfortunately his recent record has too much failure, and that can become a habit. Would seriously prefer Tisdale.

Some of the kebabs I've seen, I suspect I'm only alive because I didn't eat them!

Although I have managed to get extremely drunk on a number of occasions, I am proud to say I've never been drunk enough to eat a kebab.

Northampton has its highlights. There's the awesome Northampton lighthouse.

Surely you mean "least worst"

That would be the North Pole then. btw I was born in Northampton. Not that it really matters .....
-
Maybe not if, for example we appoint a radical coach playing youngsters in a total football approach and exciting the fans
-
But South of Watford Gap, where some think the North starts. Btw, I was just south of the Scottish border the other day, heading north, and the signs still said I was on my way to "The North", so where does it begin?

Angkor is awesome. Do everything you can to get there. Stay at Earthwalkers hostel in Siem Reap.

Cobblers were my home team in my youth and the first team I followed (before I saw the Saintly light). I remember fondly the old County Ground that they shared with Northants Cricket Club. The cricket outfield actually overlapped part of the football pitch so there were quite a few problems until the cricket season finished. Temporary stand had to be built along one side of the pitch for each football game and demoloshed if the cricketers wanted their ground back!

OK. Riemann spheres extend the complex plane with an additional point to represent infinity. The complex plane is a representation of the real and imaginary parts of complex numbers. In our bee/train situation we could hope that both the bee and the train are imaginary, so we can forget about them. Or indeed, if either is imaginary and the other real, the imaginary one will have no effect on the real one, in which case the bee could survive as being hit by an imaginary train wouldn't hurt much, I imagine. If both are real, they clearly won't be for long as the bee will be a pretty complex mess. And if they're both complex, the situation is obviously far too complex to predict. -

It's gone very quiet on this thread. Can't believe that no-one's got nothing to say. -

And zero to any power is zero, so what is zero to the power zero? That's always bothered me. (And I do have a degree in maths) -

Last time I checked, velocity = distance / time and that means if time = 0, if distance is anything > 0, velociry would have to be infinite, and that's impossible, so distance = 0. But then 0 / 0 is undefined, so the velocity could be anything you like. Or nothing. So in the instant (no time) the train hits the bee, they can have different velocities. or none at all. Whatever. -

Sweden's total shores are 9.5 times the length of the equator. It took me a long time to believe that. -

This explains why every train I travel on keeps stopping momentarily then instantly accelerating back up to 100mph without me noticing. Just realised we achieved three pages of nothing. -

The answer to Life, the Universe and Everything was 42 and I understood that. But I accept I may not understand Life, the Universe and Nothing. -

It is a mathematical fact that 0 raised to any power is 0. It is another mathematical fact that any number to the power of 0 is 1. It has therefore always worried me that 0 to the power 0 must simultaneously be both 0 and 1. -
It all depends on how well we're doing. Pushing for playoffs - 22000. Mid table - 1800. Struggling - could drop as low as 12000.

I happened to move from Southampton to Hereford at exactly the sam time as Terry and it softened the blow of not being able to see Saints regularly having him in the Hereford team who won three promotions in about 5 years. He'd moved from the wing to be the best "midfield general" I've ever seen - bar none. He didn't run much, just was the automatic outlet who collected the ball, put his foot on it then picked the perfect pass - again and again. Happy days.

Agreed totally. That's pretty well precisely what I've wanted to say but haven't had the energy or time to do so. Thanks for such an excellent summary.
