  1. Can't say he picked the wrong team. Maybe tactics were too much long ball. Might have brought Papa on a bit earlier. He could have tripped the ref up in the tunnel at half time. We needed a replacement: that one would never have given us anything. Seriously don't think we could do any better than AP.
  2. Just back and very deflated. Difficult to point the blame at any player in particular. Things didnt flow in the way they did on Tuesday. Too many aimless balls down the middle, didn't get it wide often enough and whe we did, crosses were mainly disappointing. Ref was the worst I've seen for a long time. Didn't think it was a foul for their freekick for the first goal, Jaidi, Fonte and Lambert consistently won the ball fairly but were penalised. Some blatent shirt-pulling and pushes ignored in our box yet pen given for nothing I could see wrong against us. but caught Fonte was clearly fouled - should have been a pen but booked for simulation. Think the penalty was just spite for all the complaining about earlier decisions. My ratings, FWIW Davis 8. One great save, no chance with the penalty Harding 6 Not as assertive as he can be Jaidi 6 Solid in the air, got nothing from the ref, poor distribution Fonte 8 A rock. Should have won penalty. Semi 6 Not involved enough in an attacking role Lallana 7 Some nice moments, unlucky not to score, but nowhere near as positive as he can be. Morgan 7 Seemed quiet, tried to get a passing game going but caught in possesion too often Hammond 7 Worked hard as usual Puncheon 6 Well below recent standard. Not brought into the game enough in wide positions, didn't see his pace. Barnard 8 Worked tirelessly, good goal, missed one difficult chance, looked more likely than Ricky today Lambert 6 Not much happened for him. Little protection from the ref, found it hard to win long balls cleanly, no real chances. One decent free kick. Tranmere weren't that bad, but we should have won. They played some football and looked dangerous at times. They battled in midfield but we should have used the passing game better - the ball rarely moved out wide. Can't blame the pitch - it was fine. Ref was a major factor, but all in all a not very good day at the office.
  3. Walsall, surely? And yes, I was at the game.
  4. Amazingly good!
  5. Afternoon off and 400 mile round trip drive for this one, but so important it has to be done. Same team, same result please.
  6. Just got my tickets. Sitting in the Cowshed Stand Deep joy. Also concerned that the ticket is for unreserved seating, but warns me to sit in the designated seat. confused smiley thing ....
  7. why couldn't it have been postponed then played on a balmy April evening on a good pitch?
  8. Not reading Geography then
  9. They're all Saints fans who have been to several games this season but just don't have customer numbers, so will not be appearing on E-bay!
  10. I know of a season ticket holder who managed to get more than two without linking.
  11. Three tickets bought online (2 adult, 1 senior) in 2 minutes from start to finish. E-mail confirmation, no problems.
  12. Should be straightforward, but also could be a real banana skin. After a great performance Saturday, this looks relatively easy, but Norwich set out to play and Wycombe may well sit back. Also Wycombe got a rare win on Saturday and that will have picked them up. And I agree, the state of the pitch will be critical. Once it's hoofball, it's anyone's game.

    Stoke City?

If it's not too boring to answer the original question, it's the red and white stripes. They miss us and it comforts them.
  14. Dilemma Season ticket holder so can get two tickets, but want three. To get three together, presumably have to wait for general sale, but I'm out of the country from March 14th to 21st. Will they sell out? Do I get two and hope for another later, accepting not together? Can I get my two season ticket ones then one extra restricted sale? Still not together. Can I just apply by post for three? Stress.......
  15. Would hope so.
  16. Met some Man City fans at Crewe last night on the way home. They are convinced that their money-loaded club are about to come to the skates aid in a bizarre way. Must say it sounded inlikely to me, and probably beer-fuelled, but the talk is that Man City would pay the skates' outstanding tax bill rather than see them fold, the reason being, if Pompey fold, Man city would lose the six points they have taken against them and drop down the table compared with, for example, Liverpool who I think have only taken one point. Could it happen? Would it be legal? What would Liverpool etc think?
  17. Sadly, I think you're right.
  18. Agreed. Only possible changes would be Murty back when fit and maybe Puncheon for Antonio. Possibly on a heavy pitch, a fit Connolly or Barnard might be more effective than Papa.
  19. Thanks. Guessed it might be early but makes getting there difficult. Don't see many trains on sunday morning in my part of the world, so may have to be an overnighter methinks.
  20. Sorry if this is posted elesewhere, but does anyone know whta time the Wembley ko will be?
