Exeter away. Could be tricky as I see they're having the pitch re-ploughed. http://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/Home/

Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
Shroppie replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
On SSN now - MM "accepts that Surman may leave". Still seems unlikely to me, though. -

So membership is going to cost round about £500 then?
-
I used to be a member for the simple reason that I live a distance from Southampton and can make a limited number of home games, so a season isn't cost effective. However, I'm a regular supporter and buying tickets used to be easier with a membership and it also meant that you got the second chance of tickets for big games after season ticket holders - that was an important factor for me too. What I'm slightly miffed about is that we have the hint that membership is returning but no details of the benefits. Just discount vouchers? Or early booking if we get to Wembley? Big difference. And no cost yet. I did get a season ticket last season and will be renewing in all probability whilst it's cheaper as I can't guarantee that membership will do what I need. If I wait until July 1st to think about a membership and find it doesn't give any buying privileges I'll be facing a more expensive season ticket. Deliberate ploy by Nicola or what?

It's mentioned briefly in the paragraph just above prices here: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2062493,00.html but not available until July after the deals on Season tickets end ...........

Had a half season ticket for the first time this year - mainly to guarantee P*****y and JPT final tickets, and well worth it. Finally decided to renew even though I will probably only be able to get to 10-12 home games max. May seem illogical, but it's my gesture of a fan's support. Markus has put millions intio the club so why should I begrudge a few hundred? Anyway, as a senior it'll work out at about £25 a game, which I was paying 2 years ago, so that can't be that bad. It should be a very exciting season with a chance of another Wembley trip and I want to be part of it. COYR!

+1. Very sorry to see him go.

As it's so boring on here at the moment, thought I might get away with this until it gets moved to General Sports
-
I think he'll be a regular on the bench to come on when we're holding on to a narrow lead on a ploughed field.
-
I think that will be very close to our first choice line-up, althought if we sign a good creative CM then Barnard may miss out in a 4-5-1. The problem is backup and the bench. We are covered at GK, CB (perhaps one more), LB and strikers. We will need two RB signings (including maybe one who can cover at CB, like Thomas who I am sorry to see go). Where is the cover for any of the midfield? Or any pace to bring on from the bench, with Papa and Antonio gone (at least for the moment - I haven't given up). CM will be difficult because with the quality we need, one on Spiderman, Hammond or new man is likely to be warming the bench most of the time, and will we get anyone good enough if they aren't going to get a regular start?

Fair point. I just get wound up by the mindless hysteria of those that actually believe this rubbish. And I suppose it does have its entertainment value.

I'm all in favour of free speech, but preferably when it's just a tiny bit intelligent and based on something more than wild unfounded rumours or worse, what is written in certain publications that have the nerve to call themselves newspapers.

Pre-season tour is Iceland then?
-
FFS indeed. When can we start infractions or bans for these harbingers of doom?
-
Forgot to add my apologies to those WUMs who are only happy when they've got something to whinge about, be miserable about or can get themselves into some serious stirring. (no names, of course)

Am I the only one who has been pig sick of the ludicrous rumour mongering and ridiculous speculation on this forum in the past few days? We now have confident assurance that all is well and we are continuing to move forward. We've had a great season, and almost a fantastic one, failing to reach the playoffs only because of the record high points needed this year. Our current form is automatic promotion. NC and AP are clearly talking about player needs for next season and have a common aim. Time to relax, speculate cheerfully on new players, watch the World Cup and look forward to next season.

MLT was on a BBC2 probramme about the 80s last night, on which he confirmed his status as an absolute god by recalling that he could do Rubik's Cube in UNDER 1 MINUTE !!!
