  1. And I assume you wre there and saw it all with your own eyes?
  2. Sure we had one. Someone complained how bad we were with it.
  3. Because Holmes isn't on the pitch.
  4. Can't believe that some reports and live commentary at the time said the shot (last kick of the match) simply missed. Was a fantastic save by KD - I was right behind it and it was headed right for the bottom corner.
  5. Probably an island 80 km off the coast of Madagascar, or China or Vietnam. But with the internet, it's no big deal is it?
  6. Back too. Great performance all round with, for me, Barnard, Kelvin the stars but Harding Seabourne and Jaidi (who was solid as a rock) not far behind. And signs of RL getting some form back. But the most encouraging thing was the determination and commitment and the way we held on to a lead. Hopefully good times ahead.
  7. Think it's the ligament damage that goes with it that's the problem.
  8. Think so. OS just says no student discount on the day.
  9. Tram could be cheaper unless you're a big crowd. Yellow line to Leppings Lane.
  10. What is the difference between a duck?
  11. First job in Totton - teaching. Then moved to Shropshire and worked in Ludlow for a few years before 25 years as a deputy Head and then Senior Admin Officer in Market Drayton. Enjoy visits back south but love the lack of stress in Shropshire.
  12. Nice easy day trip by train for me and a ground I haven't been to in ages. Planty of time for a look round the city and a few beers (I see the Hillsborough Hotel has its own brewery and looks interesting). Then just need a decent result. Even a goal would be different. I have a good feeling that this is the game things turn round.
  13. Where to drink? Thinking of the Hillsborough Hotel. Good for real ale and and food and on the tram route from the centre. Any other ideas?
  14. Last season he was an excellent target man, winning perhaps 80% of long balls either with a flick on or control and pass, usually out wide from where he then was getting planty of good crosses. Whilst that was the case, there was nothing wrong with the long ball tactic, mixed with a passing game. Now he's winning almost nothing so the long ball isn't working and when the ball is passed around he looks slow and is not providing movement so that isn't working either.
  15. Desperate times need desperate measures. Assuming we don't get three brilliant loans in by Saturday, I would go with Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Puncheon Schneiderlin Guly Dickson Barnard Ox- Chamberlain Subs: Bart, Seaborne, Lambert, Hammond, Mills, Connolly, Holmes That gives the flexibility to be 4-5-1 with Oxo moving out to the wing, Guly in the hole and Barnard up front.
  16. I've got to agree. I was at the game and apart from one shot, there was nothing to remember about RL's game. I left thinking there is something seriously wrong with him. Is he carrying an injury? He hardly left the ground for any header, his control from long balls was a pale imitaion of last season and his movement when we played on the ground was virtually non-existant. If so drop him until he's fit. Is this connected to the AP saga? AP brought him in. Has he no interest in playing for anyone else? Was he against the group of players who allegedly met NC to put their grievances about AP so is there a rift in the team? Either way, something radical needs to be done.
  17. In total agreement. Get behind the team and the new man and forget the past.
  18. Forgot to say no movement off the ball. And yes I was at the game.
  19. I think we lacked pace, guile, flair, imagination, commitment, passion, organisation in defence, fitness, belief, leadership, determination and sharpness in front of goal (if we ever got in front of goal, that is). Otherwise, no problems. Goodnight.
  20. Decided to go. Can just make this one after work and want to give NA a good welcome.
  21. Since I am not disgruntled at this appointment, I suppose I could describe myself as gruntled? Just glad it's sorted as really hope he can wake the team up, get their respect and backing and start seeing some results.
  22. Agreed. Big name is nothing at our level, and you need to remember what our level is! I was sorry to lose AP but we need a manager who can shake this squad up, motivate them, make things happen bit like Pearson did to keep us up. Would have been great to get him back btw . But I'll settle for NA or someone like Mowbray.
  23. SSN just claiming they will reveal who else was interviewed. Since they don't even understand " negotiations continuing" and are reporting that as "deal back on" - was it ever off? - prepare for more bollix. Btw other candidate Howe.
  24. At the end of the day.....
  25. Thank you for some sanity.
