  1. For all his ability, I still expect to see him on the bench for most away games or when we have stiffer, or more physical opposition. I'm impressed with NA's selections recently. He doesn't seem afraid to change a winning team and it seems to me he is much more adept than previous managers at getting the right team out for the opposition we're facing. At home, and against weaker teams, he's started Oxo (and Guly against Tranmere) - attacking intent from the start. Also put Chaplow in for Schneiderlin last night, I assume as a positive move. Away from home, or when we will need to defend more I still expect to see Punch start (for all his failings in front of goal I maintain he works hard for the team), along with Schneiderlin as a more solid defensive setup. I think Guly's going to become an "impact" player - can't see him getting many starts now.
  2. I'm not sure I'd make either change. Puncheon's finishing is woeful at the moment but he still contributes a lot. Certainly not drop Harding - I seem to be seeing a different player to the one some posters are describing. But if anything's worth considering, Dickson for Puncheon could be.
  3. Would rather have seen Jaidi in for this game.
  4. Not a pushover. They're my local team and are doing well and playing decent football. We will need a strong team. Being selfish I'm hoping for a replay - just 8 miles away compared with St Mary's which is 200 and I can't get to the first game - England NZ at Twickers that day.
  5. Good performance. You need scrappy wins to come out on top. Agree Oxo was excellent but still think he's better kept as an impact sub. Don't agree that Chaplow was poor. I thought he worked hard for the team and should challenge Hammond for a place. Sorry to say it but it really is time to rest Ricky. Barnard is offering far more. Puncheon did well, if you ignore his finishing!
  6. I really struggle to see what this vendetta against Puncheon is all about. On every occasion I've seen him this season he's put in an honest performance, worked for the team and created chances. OK, I can remember a few missed chances but any player can have a non-scoring run. Getting on his back achieves nothing.
  7. Will be gutted if we get a good one. Got tickets for England vs All Blacks that day. Unless we get moved to Sunday I suppose.
  8. Against physical sides I'd still like to see Jaidi starting. Should always have played Schneiderlin today for midfield control. And the moment is close when Ricky has to be rested.
  9. Agree with horses for courses. IMO should have been Barnard for Guly and Spiderman for Chaplow. Or, given the way Lambert is now, Barnard alone up front and Chaplow Spiderman and Hammond in Cm. Some games you need a more defensive solid setup.
  10. HCDAJFU but Spiderman is a different class. Should have started.
  11. Still think we should have started with Barnard and Spiderman instaed of Guly/Chaplow. More solid setup, Barnard defends well from the front
  12. I agree. I like Harding and was surprised we got another LB in, particularly as Mills isn't bad cover. But from what I've seem of Dickson he could be an important part of the team - maybe at LM.
  13. Not bad, is it?
  14. OK. Since I don't think we've got one I'll start it. This could be a defining match. Win and it's a clear statement of progress, 6 games unbeaten and would be close to the playoff places. Lose and it would be a big backward step. So although a win would be great, I think I'd take a draw. The tactics will be interesting and a measure of how NA will adapt to different situations. At Sheffield we played more like the home team and last week totally dominated going forward with most of the possession. But if you look at the highlights of Colchester vs Huddersfield from last week It was three counter-attacking goals that won the match against the run of play. I would expect to see the same team as last week but with Spiderman back for Chaplow and Guly playing behind Lambert, or possibly no Guly to start with and a 4-5-1 with Chaplow and Spiderman rather than a more attacking formation leaving us more vulnerable on the break.
  15. The 18.10 was delayed so long the 19.10 caught it up. Incident sounded nasty from what the conductor said.
  16. I was on the 18.10 and it was held up for ages at Romsey and Salisbury because some louts had assaulted a passenger (disabled, I heard). Anyone know anything? Hope it wasn't Saints fans.
  17. He will play. If he's been disciplined internally we'll never know and quite right too. Nor has he been found guilty of any offence. We don't even know if he's been charged. So why don't we stop the idle speculation based on a friend of a friend saying he heard someone say they know someone who was there just after it happened and people were saying stuff so it must be true.
  18. I've seen no confirmation whatsoever that he's out.
  19. About as likely as any of the other 93 rumours. Think I'll wait for facts now. Sorry to be boring.
  20. Should be able to unless I am actually doing some work then
  21. Impressed so far. He seems intelligent, knows how he wants the team to play and can get that through to them and has the ability to change things during a game if needs be. Think he's also getting the respect of the players but I'll be interested to see how he deals with LB once we actually know what his involvement was.
  22. I'm trying to work out why we need this thread, when everything's covered in another one.
  23. Why? They only comment on facts.
  24. I did. You posted that you arrived on the scene after it had happened. So you didn't see any assault. You're just taking someone else's word for what happened.
