  1. Yep. To put it in perspective, first goal was a gift, second poor keeping, third a horrendous deflection. Fourth didn't matter. And Leicester reduced themselves to 10 men to help.
  2. Doesn't make any difference. If Leicester had won MU I would still go top 4 above Chelsea with a win.
  3. Or they do the double over us and we never hear the end of it.
  4. Massive turn round. Got me thinking how things have changed so much. If I remember correctly, they had a bad run of injuries that exposed a thin squad. Whilst it took a 9-0 thrashing for Ralph to go back to his true principles and build a team round the way he wanted to play. And, apart from a lean spell before lock-down, we've never looked back.
  5. And Ake looks like he's picked up a bad injury.
  6. I think the reason they'll bother is that at some point they have to take steps to start getting fans back in, and it can't be a sudden return to the old normal. It's also a matter of keeping fans' goodwill. It would take an interesting bit of software to allow family group sales and constantly adjust, putting in social distancing and working out where the next sale can go, and I suspect that's beyond what we'll see I agree that you'll get no choice of seat if you're luck enough to get in.
  7. But if Watford beat West Ham, the Villa v West Ham game on the last afternoon could be tasty.
  8. But I think the logistics of variable spacing to take account of household groups is probably impossible.
  9. Yep. They got their mojo back. McGoaldrought scores two.😳 I think we'll see some unexpected results before the end of the season, starting with our win at OT.
  10. I've heard there might be hopes of getting in 10000, but if you assume every other row taken out, and one seat in three used along the rows, that's 1/6 of capacity, or 16% You've also got to consider spacing in the concourse.
  11. But they have to win all three now for the record
  12. Form table last 6 games. Villa, Bournemouth and Norwich 3 points out of 54 between them. No wins. Chance of making up 6 points? Negligible.
  13. New ground too. Shame I never made it to the old one.
  14. I feel your pain. I gave up on Antonio and sold him this week. ☹️
  15. Villa and Bournemouth need miracles now.
  16. But they looked vulnerable against Villa and were struggling to score until the ref realised they needed a bit of help. We can't have Project Get Man U in the CL failing. If we get in their faces and press at the right times we can get something. But every challenge we make will be penalised and we'll probably get a card or two early on to curb our enthusiasm.
  17. I'm over 65 and have renewed. I can't wait to get back but will trust my common sense and the club's safety measures.
  18. But we are playing well and there looks to be understanding, cohesion and a good team spirit. I'm hoping we can keep that up in the remaining games and carry it into next season.
  19. I think they rarely stayed unless games were very close together. This is 4 days and it's only a 40 minute flight.
  20. I suppose it makes the miss more palatable.
  21. And the PL gave now said there were wrong penalty decisions in all three matches last night, all looked at by VAR and none corrected.
  22. I understand your point but the current system means part of the game IS refereed by VAR, as the VAR ref alone devides whether to review a decision. I really feel that there have been glaring instances of a blind eye being turned when a ref makes a "mistake" favouring certain teams and looking with a fine tooth comb for possibilities when the boot is on the other foot. Look at MU's penalty last night. Any proper review would have seen easily that the ref was wrong. Too easy to randomly state it wasn't "clear and obvious". With the benefit of replay, which is the whole point, it was clear and obvious. Compare that with instances where it's taken 5 minutes to find the faintest hint of handball to disallow a goal. Neither clear nor obvious. And because the scope of VAR is so limited there are huge areas where VAR should be useful but can't be used. The system needs complete review. The ref should be able to ask the video ref for advice on anything. The video ref should only be able to instigate a review where they are reasonably sure something has been missed, and then only to advise the ref to look at it. And refs must learn, as with other sports, that they should use VAR routinely for unclear incidents. It seems to me that too many refs regard VAR as a challenge to their authority, rather than a helpful assistant. And, of course the other element is allowing teams appeals to VAR, which I don't really want but could become necessary unless we can get a system in which refs can use VAR freely and do so constructively rather than looking on VAR as a threat. And yes, I agree that the final decision should always be on-field, but after proper review and guidance. At the moment that isn't happening.
  23. This was similar to the Bednarek tackle in our game. While VAR is limited to deciding a ref had made a clear and obvious error, it's useless. The whole point of a detailed video review is that it can see things that aren't clear and obvious. If a ref makes a decision that, after analysis, is shown to be wrong, that decision should be overturned. Instead we have the nonsense of saying that it was wrong, but it wasn't obvious to the ref, so his wrong decision stands
  24. Yes. That was an absolute disgrace. What worries me is that the VAR ref had all the time in the world to look at that. There's no possibility that it was unclear. The thinking was obviously "can I get away with saying it's not a clear and obvious error because the brand needs MU to be at the top."
  25. The more I see the replay the more that looks like blatant collusion between ref and VAR. If there was a foul at all, it was the other way.
