Was it suggested that Ings came off with a groin problem?
  2. Surely that's Jonathan Forte's sister, Piano Forte?
  3. I'm still hoping West Ham can go down. Only needs them to lose their last two games by about 4-0 each, Brighton to find a point from somewhere, Watford to get 4 points and Villa to win their last two (including WH) convincingly. πŸ™„πŸ˜‰
  4. I'll never forget Maya's shame and humility after the 0-9. I was (as a birthday treat) in hospitality and Maya was the nominated player to meet us after the game. In view of the circumstances he was told he was excused, but insisted on doing it. He was devastated.
  5. One disappointment is that, in normal times I imagine this would have been an opportunity to say goodbye to Maya Yoshida. He had his ups and downs but was a great loyal servant to Saints, who will now vanish without any send-off.
  6. Agreed, and I'm sure Brentford are sick that it isn't yet used in the Championship. The two penalty claims they had turned down on Saturday could cost them Β£80m.
  7. I've just got a mad hunch that they are going to be the ones staying up.
  8. Dropped in on the Cherries forum. They are mainly resigned to going down. Favourite quote aimed at one eternal optimist: "You're clutching at straws like a masturbating scarecrow" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  9. We lost to Arsenal since lock-down. But I agree.
  10. And so to the last game, with the luxury of it hardly mattering. Who'd have thought it after 12 games (was it 8 or 9 points?) or after a certain Friday evening in October? I'll admit to having been slightly nervous on the restart to get to safety, with 40 maybe the target, but now 50 is totally possible and I hope we get there, not only for the total but to finish the season on a 7 match unbeaten run and carry the positivity and momentum into next season. I hope Bednarek is fit so we can finish with a full strength team, but no point in taking risks. I'd lean towards Adams to start too, ahead of Long, but not unhappy with either.
  11. Priceless as long as he wants to be a Saint. Crucial to our CL push next season.
  12. The good news, as far as I'm concerned and assuming Bournemouth are down, is that my two longest journeys to matches (again, assuming we ever get to go again) have gone for next season. The trip to St Mary's will once again he further for me than any away game.
  13. My dream scenario now is Watford lose both games, Bournemouth beat Everton, Villa get a point against Arsenal then a 98th min winner v West Ham, and stay up.
  14. We simply don't have a fit replacement for Redmond available. Only he and JWP of the outfielders have played every minute since the restart.
  15. Half time doesn't count as one of the sub windows.
  16. Hope Ralph inserts a rocket into Vestergaard's posterior orifice before the game. If he's as casual as he was in Thursday, problems.
  17. Vestergaard needs to step up very considerably from Thurs.
  18. Indeed. You, and he, were right. Is Bednarek injured? Big loss.
  19. Fair enough.
  20. Source? Hasn't been announced yet, has it?
  21. True, and against City. We are clearly the better team and should win but, as we've shown in the past, when the chips are down teams can come up with desperate relegation saving performances. I'm expecting an early blitz but assuming we weather this and hopefully get ahead, they will fade I think we've got a point to prove after losing at home and hopefully there is no way we'll callapse like Leicester.
  22. I think and hope you're right, but I expect them to throw a lot at us. Watford losing on Friday and having Man C and Arsenal left has given them a glimmer of hope. Bournemouth have to hope that Watford pick up nothing from those two games whilst they win one, and they'll see us at home as a better chance than Everton away. If that happens, it could come down to GD or even goals scored. Villa can also come into the equation, and Arsenal have a big influence on things, playing both Watford and Villa. Will they be keeping their powder dry for the FA Cup now they're in the final? Interesting.
  23. I agree that Everton haven't been good since the restart, but W2 D3 L2 isn't exactly on the beach. And we've got one of the best records since the restart and they held us to a draw.
  24. This. Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. After all their years in the wilderness I'm waiting to see them overspend on overrated players to form a disjointed group rather than a team. Whilst the overblown expectations of their fans will hopefully put huge pressure on the team and cause meltdown after a few losses and the realisation that they aren't a top club.
  25. Bournemouth have had just one win (against 10 men who gave the game away) 2 draws and 5 defeats since lockdown. They lost their last game. Why do you think they're suddenly going to win two on the bounce?
