  1. It's not necessarily true that there hadn't been a spike. The people on the beach came from all over, not one place. And the slowdown is taking longer than in other countries. I'm not living in fear. I'm looking at facts and the way cases have increased in most countries after easing of lock-down. I agree we can't stay in lock-down for ever but neither can we pretend that the old normal can safely return in the foreseeable future. My decisions aren't fuelled by the mainstream media but by considering the available scientific and medical evidence.
  2. His dedication is exceptional. How many other coaches spent lockdown producing a highly detailed blueprint (e-book) for the way he wants teams at all levels to play?
  3. Ralph deserves praise too. He's instilled a very different mindset in all the players: aggressive out of possession and quick, positive movement if we can win the ball with the opposition out of shape. I'd say JWP gas embraced that as well as anyone.
  4. I've heard severe doubts from a senior level at the club as to whether anyone can sort out his attitude. My own view is simple: Lemina is not a team player. All he wants is his own glory and more money. But football is a team game so he'll never fit at Saints.
  5. This is the Express. Since when were we interested in past-it, injury-prone overpaid has-beens?
  6. Certainly not me. I've maintained for ages he has been a crucial cog in the machine. Take him out, and the machine didn't function. Yes, at times he was criticised for sideways and backwards movement, but that was mainly down to the lack of movement and imagination of others and poor coaching.
  7. I'm sure that Villa and Watford will have exactly the same motivation and the odds are massively against Bournemouth. They have to win with neither of the others getting anything.
  8. Is there a Press Conference today?
  9. This is boring already.
  10. Found out now. You can't.
  11. Any idea you can get it on a BT box?
  12. As a statistician I couldn't resist. Assuming all individual match outcomes involving relegation teams to be equally likely (I know they're not) chances for each team surviving are Bournemouth <4%, Watford 33%, Villa 48%, plus 15% of Bournemouth relegated and the others both win or both lose and it depends on GD swing. That favours Villa as Watford need a 2 goal swing.
  13. Ok, I'll bite. Not sure whether this is a wind-up or you have a severe lack of understanding. Football isn't about individual players, although some plastic fans may just want to watch the so-called stars. It's a team game. Paying a has-been a fortune, even if they'd come, is not going to make the team a world beater, and in any case, can't be afforded. You clearly know little about Saints as they are far from affluent. They have to work within a sustainable business model which will always involve buying players with potential, developing our own Academy players. If these are successful, they will move on, hopefully for a profit. As Leicester showed, a club with a strong collective team spirit and good coaching can win. But they too could not keep their players, even after winning the league. Players put greed and winning things for their individual glory ahead of loyalty: that's long since gone. Saints are ambitious and will hopefully be back in Europe soon. But they won't get there by throwing money at vanity projects.
  14. You have a coat to get?
  15. Why wasn't he sent off?

    Injury Watch

Would be a bit of an anticlimax if Danny misses the last game, but no point in taking a risk. The Golden Boot doesn't matter and now that he's off the mark, I'd challenge Che to lead the line.
  17. There is still a dream scenario possible. If MU thrash WH 7-0 tonight, then both Villa and Watford win 3-0 on Sunday, WH go down with Bournemouth and Norwich. Won't be placing a bet, but would be amazing.
  18. As long as the three relegation matches are at the same time.
  19. Looking more likely by the minute.
  20. True, but Villa could finish level with either on both points and GD.
  21. As good a place as any to put this; https://www.somersetcountygazette.co.uk/farmer/18594691.harry-redknapp-named-patron-flicka-foundation/ No question he has plenty of experience working with donkeys. Over to you. 😂😂🐴
  22. Meanwhile, back to the crucial issue of the vital 12th place. We need to better Everton's result. Both drawing won't do as we'll miss out by 1 GD. If we both lose, we need to lose by one less than them or if we both win, again we need to be one goal better, in both cases to get it on goals scored.
  23. Not happy having to rely on Bournemouth to beat Everton for us to get the glory of 11th. Just hope Watford lose twice so Bmuff are fighting.
  24. How are SU managing to lose to this dross?
