  1. I wonder what effect the Chelsea situation has had on him. Killed his chance of a move anywhere.
  2. Is that definite?
  3. But no Redmond on the bench. COVID?
  4. Sorted.
  5. As a postscript to the game and thinking of our current good form I'm struck with a few lucky chances that seem to have helped us towards what now seems to be our best team. McCarthy was injured resulting in FF getting a run of games without pressure and is IMO, back to his best. Likewise Redmond and Elyounoussi, who somehow seems to fit the attack much better than Redmond. And SA seems to have benefitted from a long lay-off. Livramento making such an impact gave KWP the chance to play on the left, where he's shown a new threat cutting in and shooting, Sterling-style. And with the competition at FB, all three seem to be getting better and better.
  6. They know
  7. Unbelievable.
  8. It really is hilarious looking back to the posts in the first 5 mins of the game. Amazing how the usual suspects vanish after a couple of doom-laden predictions when they realise that we're not getting thrashed and are actually playing some impressive football.
  9. If like me you were relying on trains, impossible to get there. Gutted.
  10. Just seen the red card incident. Clear yellow and correct initial decision. Players mob the ref in true OT style of old. Despite there being clear cover VAR tell him to look at it and he duly upgrades to red. Outrageous.
  11. Did JWP pinch him? Hope so. Bruno looked terrified when Stephens came on.
  12. It was violent conduct. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean to miss so should have been red. And I've seen penalties given for less than Maguire's challenge, even without the stamp. My MU friend says it was accidental but looked deliberate enough to me, so that's red too. And Man U are complaining they're not getting VAR decisions, even the one where 5 players were offside when Ronaldo put it in the net.
  13. We did brilliantly at being nasty and winding them up. Really rattled them and we didn't even get a yellow. NOT EVEN ROMEU!🤣 Sure that was Stephens' job when he came on.
  14. According to match stats, no yellow.
  15. He wasn't booked, and I agree with you. The ref should also have brought it back when there was no advantage for a free kick central and 25 yards out
  16. Ref had a good game, but I do think it was a pen by Maguire on Broja. There was also a disappointing moment when Broja had his shirt pulled right in JWP territory but the ref played advantage. We got a corner, but compared with a JWP free kick 25 yards out and central that's no advantage. I think the ref almost brought it back, except for the corner
  17. Has pace, strength and finishes well. If he can add decision-making he'll be awesome
  18. Its been reported Redmond has an ankle injury
  19. Conflicting reports. Ralph said it looked bad and had to get assessed. Others said just a painful clash of knees.
  20. And that makes it true? Yeah, right.
  21. I think he played 90 mins. Was subbed off for Romeu before extra time iirc. You're right. I missed that
  22. And Tino played 120 minutes on Saturday. I doubt he'll start, or if he does will be subbed off by 60 mins. And even though SA didn't play a full game, 8 also doubt he'll play 90 mins.
  23. For anyone who hasn’t seen it, the latest Sky write-up on the takeover. 'Southampton confirm £100m takeover deal - who are new owners?' http://www.skysports.com/share/12509028 I can’t help being a little bit excited about this. The Sport Republic operating model fits our principles closely - a return to the Black Box but hopefully the very latest model on steroids. There won’t be wild spending or marquee signings, but, I hope, acquisitions like Tino and maybe Broja: unidentified talent to be developed, or identified talent blocked from progress in their current club. And the personnel seem well qualified: success at Brentford and Midtjylland on the football front and in building a business, with enough cash for investment in a sensible way. Add in Semmens who I think has done a fantastic job under the constraints of Gao and legacy signings, and of course Ralph, and dare I dream the future is bright?
  24. As it's looking increasingly likely the game will be off, this will all be academic.
