I have a feeling players we had intended to sign/confident of doing so have fallen through (possible Alderweireld being one of those). As I posted last week I was told that two signings were fairly imminent and that would be it. Clearly we have had to readjust somewhere along the line. Equally though, these things are never quick so we may still be going through that process.

Sorry, I wasn't really that clear in my post. I agree that a solid goalkeeper does a lot for a defenders confidence, however my point was more about Yoshida always improves when he plays consistent games.

I don't think Yoshida's form is related to Forster. He always improves with consistent games, I don't really understand that useless tag he seems to have adopted on here. Jos on the other hand....

The same could be said throughout the leagues though. Better players will always move to better clubs. Saints pre season has been pretty unprecedented though and only those in the club will know the reason it has been allowed to happen on such a large scale exit. Don't forget, when we were in League 1 we were seen as the 'Man Utd' hence we were able to snap up the best players at that level and some from the Championship.

I think this interest was from much earlier in the summer, if at all. I don't believe there is any interest from us now.
