Can they cope with this type of atmosphere, they won't have been used to it and the players could have a mental breakdown:) Just look at the faces of their fans, this is what makes the Premier League! They are smiling and singing songs, I doubt they have seen days like this before. This day will live on in the memory of many of them for years to come, it's something to tell their grandchildren about. I doubt any of them would have even dared dream this last night! How dare they! How dare they! (If Saints take the lead)

Just an aside but where would I be able to get a free but accurate valuation?

Deleting/formatting data from a laptop to sell
Barney Trubble replied to Barney Trubble's topic in Technology Chat
Thanks Badger, I have pressed F2 and it's taken me to the BIOS set up utility. It has four menus at the top - Main, Advanced, Boot and Exit. I can't find anything about 'security' - where should I be looking? Ta -
Deleting/formatting data from a laptop to sell
Barney Trubble replied to Barney Trubble's topic in Technology Chat
Thanks guys/gals....I need the OS though as it's now been listed as with a working OS. Also, is there a way of removing a password that's needed on boot up? The guy I bought it from put a password in the BIOS (?)........I can of course just give this to the buyer but they might not want it. -
How do I go about deleting any data or personal information from a laptop that I am selling? I have tried using F5 and F8 but I can't find any option to restore to factory settings etc. I don't have any installation CD's and am worried that if I format it then I will have to sell without an OS, which was pre-installed Vista Home Basic. Any solutions to this?

I sold an item on ebay on the 21st May and the buyer paid, via paypal, the following day. It was collection only, and this was stated. However, I have not heard from the buyer since, they don't respond to emails and the number ebay have given me to contact them, can't be connected. Where do I stand? I am moving house next month too.

Done. Dalrymple's best book was 'Life at the Bottom - The Worldview that makes the Underlcass' - very astute indeed. -
Dead Mans Shoes - Great film indeed Turkish, there was some brilliant acting in that, combined with a brilliant storyline and script.

Thanks to all, you've all been a great help. I am getting my head around complex multiplication but it's hard work when it comes to areas, especially when the course deliberately use different measurements, so they mix in MMs, CMs and feet and then ask you to find the area of a shape that is so irregular I am now moving onto some challenging stuff, such as measuring cylinders, cuboids, volumes and using PI and other strange symbols!!! 3.141 is bouncing around my head big time Still, a lot of us are going to need to rearm and re-skill over the next few years, to make ourselves more employable, so it's hard work after a ten hour day, but it's good to learn after all these years. Thanks for all the tips, I will get back if I am stuck again. I'd rather master how to do something manually, rather than use a calculator, as I blame the calculator for a lot of my poor maths, as I stopped thinking for myself. Crikey, I take my hat off to mathematics tutors,

Thanks, I might just do that as this is a L2 course. So, what path did you use to get 11.375? I am using this way, I seem to remember I used at school but I can't get the answer you gave me with this method. 3.50 3.25 x

I'm just doing a course and am stuck, of course, i've checked google for the answers but nothing makes the issues clear. I can work the answers out on a calculator but I need to know the formula that lies behind it. So, 1) I need to find the volume of soil I dig out of a pond. The area is 4m x 2m and I have to dig 0.5 metres deep. Is the formula this: 4x2x0.5 so 4x2=8 x 0.5 which gives the volume as 4 2) How do I multiply this area of a room: 3.50m x 3.25m I have the calculator answer but I keep getting a different answer using a manual calculation. Thanks, it's been over 25 years since I was a learner, so bear with me if it's so obvious.

Things you only see in 'Poorer' areas

Youths having a penchant for riding about on mobility scooters. This seems to be the latest chav craze sweeping the council estates. I don't think you need road tax or insurance (not that'd make much difference anyway). -

1) Streets that are littered with scrap metal vans 2) Front walls of council houses that have been knocked down to allow the aforementioned scrap metal van to park 3) General litter/rubbish abuse, esp fast food cartons etc 4) Groups of youths dossing on walls, in tracksuits. They stare at cars as they drive past. 5) Obesity in younger women/men 6) Perambulators with kids in who don't look like they've been washed 7) House numbers written on walls with white paint A high proportion of smokers 9) A high proportion of people with tattoos, usually indian ink type that look like they have been scrawled on 10) A queue outside Wetherspoon pubs at 8 am -
He seems a nice enough guy to me, he's just misunderstood. Then again, I feel I have to say the above or I will be deemed a closet racist/Islamaphobic/EDL supporter. I personally think that we should deport him and take on the powers that be at a later point. So, we break the law, I think that is the lesser of the two evils and we 'd have enough moral and ethical ammunition to justify our actions.

I doubt anyone has died in the name of atheism, atheists are open minded and accept people at face value. There is no need to be extreme, only when there is a God involved. These clowns in the video are brainwashed but they are never going to know that, it was probably deeply ingrained into them before they could even mutter double letter sounds. -

Photocopying your passport for a visa...
Barney Trubble replied to Barney Trubble's topic in The Lounge
Thanks all. Stux, any chance you could email me at dellboy07@yahoo.co.uk I have contacted a friend in Thailand who has gave me some more information, which I would like to run past you (or anyone who has knowledge of these things). Regards -
...is this a good idea and it it necessary? I am a tad concerned that a friend of mine has just asked me to photocopy all the pages in his passport, along with his birth certificate so that he can send them to his lady in Thailand. She has said that it's a requirement of the visa that she obtains theses to verify her fiance, or to show that they know each other etc. He has also sent copies of bank statements, phone bills etc, along with lots of money. Now, we all know the dangers of Thai scammers but not everyone is that way but I am really concerned - should I be and does anyone know how the process works. Also, she has been refused a visa three times now, she says on medical reasons, as she has had cancer, which was picked up at the TB check. He's a good mate (No it's not for me really) but I have my suspicions about her. Please spare me the one liners, I just don't want to see a friend of over thirty years shafted. I may be wrong and I am just being my cynical self but I just don't know what to think for the best. He's being going to Thailand for well over twenty years now so knows the system well but he's never had a girl that he's wanted to bring back to the Uk, up until now. He's also very trusting and likes to see the good in people but I just want to make a few checks before I have a word with him. I did do some IP checks a few months ago, from emails she sent to him, they also gave me cause for suspicion but I was advised from someone on here that the IP tracking on an hotmail account was not reliable. Thoughts? I know you'll all take the **** but just put yourself in my shoes and think what you would do for a good friend.

Travel advice in London Wood Green, Haringey)
Barney Trubble replied to Barney Trubble's topic in The Lounge
I thought about it but once you factor in at least £40 in fuel, the hassle of getting there due to traffic and then I would have to probably pay for parking for 1-2 days then I felt it would be prudent to just go via National Express or train. -

Thanks folks, some good help so far. Sour Mash - No idea about Earls Cross? It's where I was told it's nearby. I am going to see a friend who has just moved there from abroad (well for a few months and then back to Thailand).
