Some statistics from the West Brom game. Saints playing long ball?
SaintNeil90 replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
The majority of people expect a long ball to be punted up from defender to centre forward, we may did this on a couple of occasion but the majority of the time it was a cross field ball to open up space. -
They never give out the allocation, although we did take full allocation for WBA according to a steward at their ground.
-
Seriously why do people bother with things like this (no offence mate) Rule 1 football chants are short and catch, not full length songs!!
-
What was the final question before they cut it short?!
-
Yeh that one was cut short wasnt it!!
-
Looks like him in a box with Cortese but I may be wrong.
-
Personally think we'll get him.
-
Doubt it... that sounds very FM to me.

Q1: What were your opinions of your first season back in the Premier League? I wasnt too sure what to expect but I thought we had a good enough squad and played the right football to stay in the league, which was proved correct. Adkins sacking was a shock but Pochettino has taken us to another level. I was more than happy with out season and wins against Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City proved we weren't just there to make up the numbers. Q2: What are your expectations for the upcoming season? I'm expecting us to kick on from where we left off last season. I think we'll push on this year and finish in the top 10 with a good cup run too. We've kept the core of our young side together and built on it further, I'm confident this year of a more successful season. Q3: What are you expecting from West Brom this season? West Brom are one of those established sides. Theres no threat of you going down. I'd expect you to comfortably finish mid table. Q4: Happy with the clubs transfer business so far? We needed some strength in depth defensively. We've signed a centre back in Dejan Lovren & a defensive midfielder in Victor Wanyama, which will help. Q5: What other positions need adding to before the close of the transfer window? We could do with an international quality striker. We've been linked with Osvaldo & Damaio but nothing has yet materialised. We also need cover for Luke Shaw (who got injured on Saturday). Q6: Favourite memories of games against West Brom? Adam Lallanas first senior goal at the Hawthorns. Q7: Worst memories of games against West Brom? Last seasons performance at St Mary's. Q8: The previous game between the sides finished 0-3. What were your opinions on this game? You played the one tactic that seems to be able to beat our pressing game, the counter attack. I hope Pochettino has a plan for this next season as you cannot press in every game, we need to adapt. Q9: And finally, score predictions I think both teams will begin cautiously and it'll be a 1-1 draw.

Appears I do... I have a contact in the ticket office. I can get tickets even when sold out I prefer to do it properly though and use that as a last resort. Your 'savvy' way risks missing out if demand is high.
-
Keep it simple... reset every year. Priority to ST holders, first come first served. Nobody has any idea when it will sell out, especially as this is the first game of the season so demand is likely to be higher than average. Do you usually go on your own? Sounds like it.
-
Is it only me who disagrees with the priority process for this game. I'm all for rewarding loyalty but this one rewards individuals. What if you want to sit together but went to a different amount of games this season. I'm going with 4 other lads and non of us can sit together for it now as we'll be getting tickets a different times.

Other players have been in better form, simple. Guly is a different kind of player, much more defensive than Puncheon, which is why he is more likely to come on towards then end of a game.
-
Jay Rod usually makes those kind of runs and shoots from outside the box. I don't think Schneiderlin wants to commit himself that much yet, but he will do.
-
Who cares about the away team... Only go early if the kid wants Saints autographs. Never encourage autographs from other teams. Hope this helps

Beat me to it. Think I'll watch this tonight. Get a look at Forren (hopefully) and check out the up & coming talents from the academy.

I think some people are still having a love affair with Lallana. Personally think he has been disappointing this season. I think we look better when Rodriguez is on the left. And to the person who laughed at Saint Garret for saying Gaston is an improvement on Lallana, he is, FACT.

Same way as you do normally

You play grass roots football and are lucky to even get a qualified referee. It has always been a difficult one at this level. There is no written rules on the subject as far as I know. When I was refereeing that level I used to make all the decisions myself and only asked the assistant to do throws/corners/goalkicks/offside but that was because it was logical and avoided this type of situation (to an extent). It didnt stop any bias from assistants. At the end of the day, the referee is human, he is trying to do what is right. The same as you are a footballer who is trying to play well but will be **** sometimes.

This... Theres a book called Soccernomics and in that they talk about the most successful corners, which are in fact the out swinging ones for the reason you have put above.
-
He has not played a competitive match since the start of November. Plus the fact nobody deserves to be dropped at the moment. Relax!
-
Lets be honest, the media really don't have a clue on this one! A few days ago our bid was accepted, now it is rejected. Liverpool werent willing to bid more than £7.5m and no they are willing to pay £13m.

Schneiderlin was MOTM on Sky yesterday.
