I do agree, Gillett is a brilliant midfielder. He chases everything and he literally nips at peoples ankles to get the ball. His distribution and control is brilliant and he can switch the play quickly. His only downfall is his size and lack of strength. However as another poster said, he makes up for that in his passion and work rate. In terms of Pardew, I think he sees Sneiderlein as his best midfield because of his talent. However this guy is not a tackler and doesn't have the strength, similar to Gillet. Therefore if Pardew wants to play Sneiderlein he has to put Wotton in with him as Wottons is a tough tackler and isn't scared of going in for a tackle, despite the fact he is sh*t at everything else. I think Pardew knows this and it could maybe the reason he has brought in Mellis. Only time will tell.

With Luton being crippled by huge points deductions. Saints getting a handicap of -10 and now Chester City being deducted 25 in their first season in the conference is it not time that these points deductions are reconsidered. Whilst teams at the top of the premier league are spending millions of pounds, the teams that are struggle financially get penalised. Yes ok there is an argument about poor management of football clubs but surely clubs should be protected in some way rather than crippled further! It just doesnt make any sense.

Good signing in my opinion. Yes Strachan was the dream but in reality not the 'best man' for the job. Pardew has been there and done it before and wants to prove himself again. He is well respected in the game and plays good attacking football. Im willing to give the guy a chance. Put it this way at least we have a big man manager once again!
