Fact of the matter is clubs prioritise the league, regardless of whether we'd prefer to win a cup or not. GET OVER IT!
-
I'm talking about what the clubs what, not what us fans want! I didn't say we could get champions league football either, I said they should offer that as a prize for the FA CUP. Try reading!!

I don't disagree with you entirely Steve. I would love us to go on a Cup run but it seems that clubs see the cups as a risk these days in comparison to the league. As OldNick says, the last game of the season could see you win or lose the equivalent money of a cup run and these days getting into the Europa League seems to stun clubs league campaigns. You only have to look at Spurs and Swansea this season to see that.

Tell that to the people who run/own football clubs!

In modern day football, that isn't much money though is it... Win the FA Cup = 14/15th in the PL Win the Carling Cup = About the same as finishing 17th http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2327063/Premier-League-prize-money-table-final-game-2013-season.html Top 6 teams would rather finish in the top 4 than win FA Cup, because they want Champions League football. Dave Whelan I'm sure would have traded Wigans FA cup win for staying the the PL, despite their European campaign. Fans may prefer a trip to Wembley, but clubs prioritise the thing that earns them the most money, and that is the league. This trend will continue until the cups are reformed. If winning the FA Cup got you Champions League football for example, more clubs would take it seriously. Getting into the Europa League is not enough anymore, in fact many clubs would rather avoid the Europa League these days. Unless the FA Cup winners get Champions League football or more prize money, then clubs will take it less and less seriously each season and we will get a few more Wigans winning it in the future.

Of course, Boruc doesn't make mistakes either!
-
AND... *Football is about money. You earn more through the league so manager/players are expected to prioritise the league. One position higher, is a big difference in prize money. I'm not saying I agree with any of this but this is the reality.

Jesus this forum is like a children's playground with all these slagging matches going on. CB Fry... face the facts... *Whether we like it or not, the cups are not as important to clubs anymore. *Whether we like it or not, the league cup has become a second rate tournament. But it means youngsters can be blooded in a competitive competition. *Whether your like it or not, given the choice and taking into consideration the way clubs now treat the cups, fans would rather pay to see a league game. There is nothing you can do about it. Cheer up, go enjoy yourself and merry christmas! *

I think you'll find that the culprits you want to be ****ed off with are those living in the middle east streaming it back to the UK. That's the major issue.

A team of Academy Products - the Rupert Lowe dream...
SaintNeil90 replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
The players coming through now, joined the club when Lowe was still here... just saying. -
Its the FA Cup, we should take this one seriously! We arent going to win the league, we arent going to get relegated, we can only hope for Europa League (even though I despise the competition!). I'd love a trip to Wembley, its our best hope of a trophy!!

We had 4 at the back! Fonte was playing RB, hence his position when crossing for Osvaldo's goal.
-
Dont compare out our hard working, loyal and passionate captain to a player who clearly isn't that bothered!!
-
Or not.
-
And of course that was all because Boruc was in goal. Nothing to do with the fact Chelsea put two up front and opened up our defence.
-
Can someone remind me what Gazza has done wrong for this lack of confidence on here? I thought Gazza was very good in goal last season. Do people forget saves like the one against Newcastle? Stats from 12/13: Played 9 Won 3 Drew 3 Lost 3 Conceded 12

Is he injured or a victim of the academy? We obviously want to bring players through but it means some players (i.e Cork) get sacrificed. I wouldn't put him ahead of Schneiderlin, Wanyama or Ward-Prowse but I'd put him in the bench in place of Davis. Davis does a job, but I think Cork is the more versatile, younger model. Cork was brilliant for us over the last couple of season, has a great first touch, quick feet, good passing ability and knows how to hassle opponents. He's becoming the forgotten man, along with Ramirez (that's his fault though).

Nope... only these produced by EA http://www.easports.com/uk/fifa/custom/fifa14-southampton-club-pack[\URL]

I seriously hate Sky Sports and how they are ruining football All we want to do is watch our team, if we are unable to go because listening on the radio is boring.
-
Can understand the frustration, as others have said, it was obviously an honest mistake. If you really aren't happy just send the ticket office an email/letter and you may get some kind of compensation for the mistake (depending how it is worded of course).
-
Despite our first team only drawing with their first team...
-
Forget what we used it for... fact is the Premier League only gave out £4m out of the billions they get from TV rights.
-
The only games that count are those up to the time that the ticket details are released. If that makes sense. As people have said, they are all stated on the details page for each game.
