It's great to have dreams, but also to stay realistic & enjoy the moment, been a great time to be an sfc fan over the last 3 years, it's great being top of the league at the moment, if we end up the season in the top 6 it's still been a great season, just enjoy the ride, to me champions league is way beyond our dreams for the forseeable future, if you seek unrealistic aims you will never be happy

i think how we come through these could decide our season, if we can get 10 plus points+ out of these, we have a good chance of auto promotion as the run of games after look a lot easier Monday, 2 January 2012 Brighton v Southampton, 15:00 Saturday, 14 January 2012 Nott'm Forest v Southampton, 15:00 Monday, 23 January 2012 Southampton v Leicester, 19:45 Tuesday, 31 January 2012 Southampton v Cardiff, 19:45 Saturday, 4 February 2012 Birmingham v Southampton, 15:00 Saturday, 11 February 2012 Southampton v Burnley, 15:00 Tuesday, 14 February 2012 West Ham v Southampton, 19:45

Yes we need all the left backs we can get, in fact if we create a left back shortage, we can start pushing up the price

Nah lallana would make him look sh--e

may be a candidate for a new poll Overall been a fantastic season so far, exceeded most of our expectations, with the hind site of the first 22 games, the pack behind us closing in, what position are you now expecting us to finish Myself i feel West Ham will end up winning the league (no change from what i thought in the summer) 2nd i think will go to Middlesbrough, but I'm quite certain we will make the play-offs (which i wouldn't of expected in the summer)

i just cant see the fascination with why many are saying we should sign Maynard, ive seen him play 4 times this season, he would not be a great signing for us, he is not popular with Bristol city fans, its not hard to see why, yes he can finish, but does not contribute a lot else, very much in the mould of rasiak & fuller, a big percentage of saints fans would not take to him, Rhodes or Sharp would be far better options
-
i blame Atkins, i rate Gully highly but it wasnt his day, he should of been subbed early, there was so much space on the right which de ridder would of exploited, and wtf was he doing swopping left backs, harding gave away a very cheap corner, which led to their goal, it was not a game to muck about with the defence

Let's pretend we just extended our lead on 3rd to 7 points

hey people, enjoy where we are, most would of not expected us top at this stage at the start of the season, we are over achieving, people are starting to moan at the slightest slip, just get behind the team and enjoy it, if we finish in the top 6, it will be a great achievement to where we have come from in the last 3 years, COYR -
Went to Bristol for a stag weekend a couPle of weeks ago, went to see Bristol city play hull, really not a happy place, reminded me of our championship relegation year, the crowd were all arguing with each other, players were being slated for any minor mistake, they are a very poor side, as for Maynard, so glad we didn't sign him, he is like a lazier version of raziak !! The biggest cheer of the day from the Bristol fans was when maynard 's number was held up for him to be subbed, there fans hate him, it was not hard to see why

if we go up, £36 will seem a bargain

first time ive been back on here since i did the original post, some great comments, i think we all want the best for our club, the structure of the club, is probably ready i think promotion is immanent if not this year it will be in the next couple of years, it just may be a step which does price some of our real fans out of going, but i guess there will be plenty of plastics to take there place, im still not sure if the premiership will improve the overall match day experience, but i'll be there regardless

picking upon a talk sport subject that i only caught the end of yesterday, got me thinking, the premier league has changed so much in the last few years, I'm really not sure if i want saints to go back there the last couple of years have been so good, going into every game with a realistic chance of winning, prices are stupid, season tickets will be probably £750 upwards, playing in a league where staying up is your only realistic aim is not really exciting me, although no doubt i would renew, im not sure it would be as good as it is now
-
To be fair, this game is not attractive, if it was free to get in, the ground would still not be full
-
i so hope you are right but cant see it

some what tougher. playing 4 out of the currant top 6 teams but think we will get at least 10 points from these. which would give us a total of 28 points from the first 14 games, still very impressive & keep us in the top 6 Burnley v Southampton, Cardiff v Southampton, Southampton v Watford, Derby v Southampton Southampton v West Ham Reading v Southampton Southampton v Middlesbrough
-
must admit i cringe when they sing that, it is so early days, we have only played one other team in the currant top ten & we lost that one, great start but a long way to go yet, but i guess lets enjoy the moment

On Saturday was in my normal seat in the northam, actually knowing the rules i didn't think the ref got hardly any decisions wrong, but as per virtually every game he seemed to upset the people around me, ive got used to this and just smile at the lack of football knowledge of saints fans, but saturday was even better, after the game waited outside the away end to meet up with a relative who is a forest season ticket holder, the first thing he said to me was, "how much did you pay that ref, he gave saints everything"

Which striker could you realistically see us getting on the Bus next week?
sotonian replied to AndyD's topic in The Saints
i dont think that Michael Owen bloke will make the 25 man squad at man u, -
this is nearly word for word the same story i heard about a month ago, i didn't believe it then either!
-
With so many evenly based teams, it's difficult to predict, but I think were better than half the teams in this league, so I'll go for top 10, we may just scrape into the play offs
-
yes a very long way, I'm not a regular poster but log in every few days to check latest rumours, on this Lambert story, I'm guessing it was an image rights/contract thing
-
a bit late on posting this, but going back to the original post, i was told of this last monday by the printer in question, i can confirm the club did try to stop the distribution of the posters, it was too late to stop the home kit posters, but i can confirm and i saw an away kit poster with lambert in it, i have no reason why it was done, but it was definitely done

In 1974 we played man u in a near end of season relegation battle (both of us went down that year) the game was not all ticket, man u fans must have come close to outnumbering us that day, it's the only time I can remembering that happening

On my phone that link takes me to live games v Birmingham and reading! But I've been assured all is ok
