  1. You really do have to wait until the transfer window closes before you can comment. We've brought in a great manager, two good additions and 5/6 more to come according to our most reliable ITKer Guan. I'm not going to panic until then. Plus we have a huge amount of money in the bank and no fear of losing our club as we did 5 years ago. The supporters are immense as well - £1K for a pre-season friendly on a Monday night at Swindon speaks volumes. Even if we do get relegated (which I have no serious worries about), the Championship was brilliant!
  2. If the people who constantly moan about the board had gone to Swindon or Bournemouth this week they will have realised that the club is not in turmoil. The support was immense and as long as we have that I won't be concerned. We (the supporters) are the only constant and without us the club would be a hollow shell. We played well against a strong Bournemouth team with them being at least a week further into pre-season than us. Koeman is a quality manager, Pelle & Tadic good incoming players with more to come. Chill out! Look where we were 5 years ago and be thankful.
  3. There was the infamous 'We signed Pochettino' song that would be repeated a lot throughout many a game!?
  4. Just wanted to add my thanks for such a great read. I would seriously look forward to Tues mornings generally in the knowledge that the latest match review would be out. It's nice to read a mainly unbiased report from a Saints supporter's view - and it made me laugh! Cheers Billy!
  5. Thanks MODs. I didn't realise why I actually enjoyed reading the main forum today without feeling irritated - now I know! Cool!
  6. How is this Saints related? Sorry to be a bore but this should be General Sports.......innit!
  7. I don't want to be a drama queen but this thread has been the final GS straw for me. Dear GS, you are the sort of head in the sand pessimist that would have laughed at Pythagorus claiming the earth was round. It might make you feel special now, but your lack of foresight is deeply depressing. Football is all about hope - and fair competition is slowly worming it's way into the game. I don't want to hear your tawdry views anymore, so along with the negative void that is Sanchez, you are also on ignore - and I can now enjoy the views of fellow Saints supporters (positive and negative) on this forum without ridiculous WUMing! Hallelujah!
  8. That's brilliant! Thanks!
  9. Are there any good pubs that our contingent tend to congregate in for this away day?
  10. We're you at the game? There wasn't a moment where I thought we would lose (well only a few minutes!!!). We were in control for most of it, less a few defensive lapses. The scoreline and tv highlights didn't reflect the majority of the game. Apologies if you did go...but my perception was that we weren't going to lose at any point. Great game though!
  11. Just stick the people that annoy you on ignore! I did, and enjoy the forum a lot more again!
  12. He is, however a Saints supporter!
  13. A valid arguement to counter the cynics on the board that think that players are so mercenary that they'd jump at the chance of moving to a 'bigger' club. Some people value happiness, loyalty, a forward thinking chairman with a innovative plan, and playing for a club that they love (plus a decent wage) above the potentially false glory of foreign billionaire funded trophy wins. Not all players are that shallow. This could come back to bite me but I hope not!
  14. That would seriously be a good move. I used to love reading the Keith Leg match reviews in the day, but these are even better. Always look forward to Tues mornings. Cheers Billy!
  15. Cool! I'm a fogey then! Perhaps it could be another poster classification like 'happy clapper', & 'bed wetter'!
  16. What's the classification of a fogey btw? I've stopped posting for ages (and I'm youngish) mainly because I expect to have a sarcastic, snide comment attached to any opinion I may have. I'm probably being a bit of a saddo, but it does put me off commenting.
  17. In a pub in Disneyland Paris on my own (kids in bed)! Celebrating with Goofy! Get in!
  18. I must admit, I quite liked the old geezers who would sell programmes at the stands. It all seems a bit pretentious having smart youngsters selling programmes. This is football, not bleedin' timeshare selling. My main issue is the amount of times I haven't been able to get a programme due to the fact they hadn't printed enough! If business and profit margins are to be put to the fore, at least print enough programmes to satisfy the market!
  19. I have to agree, One of my best days at St Mary's was the day we stayed up beating Sheffield Utd. This season has just made me feel miserable compared to the optimism of the last three seasons. How long ago have we lost 4 games on the trot? The truth is that this is a non competitive league, and that fact takes the shine off actually being there. Where is the fun when another ridiculously well resourced team can change the shape of a game with world class super subs worth more than the oppositions whole starting 11, The results verge on boringly predictable - unlike the rest of the football league.
  20. Yes!
  21. \\That's a fair point. I suppose I'd just like the world to see how good they are and get the recognition they deserve. But yeah. If it impacts on Saints then f**k it!
  22. What abOut the Olympic team? Him and Adam wOuld be brilliant in that?
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Ipswich contingent chant 'You're not singing anymore' after the goal countered by a resounding 'We forgot that you were here' from the Northam and Kingsland?
  24. \ Funny you should say that as I heard a rumour that he was set to sign and was seen at the training ground. Just a mate from work - but got me excited all the same!
  25. Just logged onto the site and the first advert I see is called 'Fish Dating'! Has noone heard of product placement on this site, or are there a significant number of people here that secretly want to date one of the blue few? Date a skate? No thanks! The word 'Fish' in the ad is even in blue! Stunned.
