Think Chappers has got the wrong end of SC's comments. All he really said is that RC has really upped his game this season, and to us it's as good as signing a new midfielder. I think Claridge got it spot on, for once. Still a skate ****

Chappers was absolutely immense. Gets the vote by a distance, but was a great team performance. Lambo, Guly, Lallana, Jose and Jos were all top class today. We'd beat half of the teams in the top flight with a performance like that. RCFG
  3. That'll do nicely, thanks
  4. I'll be there, is a good away game. Hopefully still do 4 for 2 on the train.
  5. I don't mind Sundays so much, but Monday nights are no good for football IMO. It's a difficult one, obviously I want us to be successful, but the Championship is a MUCH better division for the supporters. Much more affordable, usually 3pm on Saturdays, and a very unpredictable league. I do want us to get promoted, but there are things I hate about the prem that we'd have to deal with
  6. Worth dropping Nigel an email IMO
  7. What a ****ing bunch of ****s. Moving games to a Friday night or Sunday is bad enough, but a Monday has got to be the worst night of the week for a game. Part of going to football for me is a day off work, a good pub session, football, back in the pub, and a day off the next day.
  8. Lots of skates I know think they're in for a battering. I concur. Some of the more deluded ones think they've turned a corner after home wins against 2 of the cannon fodder teams in the league and are on a march for the playoffs. I think it'll be cagey but we'll keep the ball better than them, go in at 0-0, they'll get frustrated, get a red card or 2, and we'll stick 7 past them in the 2nd half for good measure.
  9. Same happened to me. Lovely goal celebration
  10. We (the Northam), couldn't hear much out of West Ham or the Itchen, and I'm sure the Northam wouldn't have sounded too loud from the Itchen, with all that space and 3000 WHU fans between the two. From block 42 I thought it was average, but we got right behind the lads when it mattered. Kingsland north were louder than normal which was good, and it looked like the kingsland were getting involved all the way down to the halfway line at times. Good to see. Also, there were a couple of occasions when the Northam and Itchen north seemed to be singing the same songs at the same time, must have seemed loud for an away fan sat in the middle of that
  11. To be fair, Cardiff bottle it every year.
  12. From the back of the Northam, I was expecting a red card. Looked like he lunged in with 12 studs showing, over the ball. Obviously couldn't have been that bad as I've not really seen it mentioned elsewhere
  13. Southampton - 15 shots, 9 on target Derby - 11 shots, 7 on target Nothing to worry about in the chance creating department Yes, I know Lallana played, but we're still making chances every game, have been most of the season

  15. We just need to take one game at a time, go out to win while playing a good, entertaining brand of football that pleases the fans. We can achieve that due to the brilliant backroom staff, and a hard working, honest group of players. We look to score goals and get 3 points, because that's what matters, then we'll draw a blue line under it and go again next time. What a lad
  16. Thread closed and deleted please!! The answer is yes btw.
  17. Reading fans referring to us as 'scum' on their forum. I really hope we tear them a new one. They'll be down after completely outplaying derby and only getting a point, we're buzzing, and I think this is a game where we'll be able to have a proper game of football. Reading 1-5 Southampton Lambert (3) Cork Fonte
  18. Chappers was subbed straight after getting booked for a slightly two footed lunge. Good decision by Adkins. I don't think it would have been too long before subbing him anyway, he worked his balls off all game
  19. Didn't have a bad view from the back of block 42, reckon it was half a yard wide at most
  20. Got to disagree with you on Connolly. The work he does off the ball is immense. He had really poor service last night, either launched up to him at head height, where he's never going to win many headers, or for him to run on to. When he gets the ball to feet he's class. Last night wasn't his best game but he was still a handful for them, made clever runs and was a nuisance for them. He picked the wrong option a couple of times, buy I think he's been pretty good all season

I didn't exactly say that. Booo to all those fans who will realise that they CAN make it every week, and will probably be ST holders, but only when we get back into the prem. Don't get me wrong, it was great seeing the ground full, just a shame it'll be back to 24k for the next few.

The 8000 who will be back for premier league games thought they'd come along to see if they can still find SMS. One bloke asked me if I could point him towards the 'northen end'. FFS
  23. I do agree, but there were a couple of occasions in the 2nd half when we were 3v2 or 3v3 on the halfway line, and chose to pass backwards when we had chances to run at them. Specifically Frazer up the right, and DC never stopped making clever runs up top. Wasn't really a problem, it meant keeping possession, but gave them chances to get back behind the ball. I think Adkins was clever, he knew the battle was in midfield and exactly how west ham would play, he got it spot on. We had a bit of luck at times but that's going to be the difference between wins and draws a lot in this league IMO. Lovely to see all the other results go our way too.
  24. Toughest game we've had so far this season, and a great result. We were noticeably cautious through midfield and I think Nigel set them up for keeping WHU out and nicking a goal or 2 rather than trying to edge a 7 goal thriller, and we managed that perfectly. I felt we lacked a bit of creativity without Lallana and Cork, but west ham closed us down so quickly it was always going to be tough to play our possession game. I thought we could have counter attacked a bit quicker at times, but they were obviously under instruction not to commit too many forward. Thought Jos and Fonte were fantastic, apart from fonte's slip. From where I was stood I was sure that shot was flying into the top corner. Thought it was great to see a proper defensive display, we haven't had a game like that this season, and I'm so glad that proper football prevailed over ****ty hoofballing. Massive confidence boost, and on to Reading to get a higher number in our 'away wins' column.
