Need Brighton to concede for my bet. W00t for Peterborough
-
w00t for Cov

These results look very decent for Saints, not so good for my accumulator. Not that I mind. C'mon Forest.
-
Anyone else think this is going to drag on and on, leading to a desperate search in the last few days of the window?
-
27 goals in 85 appearances, and only 4 assists. Not at all prolific. Potential, and a bit of pace, but I'd much rather have a goalscorer.

It wasn't so much a dig at Celtic. Was thinking more along the lines of why would an Englishman want to stay in Scotland when the quality of opposition is so poor? It's literally 50/50 on whether you win the league and domestic cups - no-one else comes close, which buys you a couple of games in Europe which you rarely win. Fulham, Middlesborough, Birmingham, Stoke, and even P*rtsmouth have done at least as well as Celtic in the last few years. Oh, and on Jos Hooiveld, he's been performing better than Jose Fonte this season. Clearly he wasn't given a chance at Celtic and you've lost a very good centre half for a fairly small sum

If anyone wants any further evidence to back up the 'SPL is a pile of toss' arguement, Dunfermline vs Inverness CT on SS1. Bottom half League 1 standard at best. Think I'll be switching over to El Classico at 9pm

Sorry, I couldn't understand your OP.

Crystal Palace make enquiry about Jason Puncheon according to SSN. Club should tell them £500k and be done with it IMO

your club has no chane of getting a celtic star player .

You have no idea about our club's situation, history, or ambition. We were in the top flight for 28 years, untill 2005 when we were relegated following serious mis-management of the club. It took a few years, and another relegation, but we are building quickly now. When we get back into the Premiership, and it's not going to take long, we will be there to stay. You never know, we may even end up loaning you a couple of our younger players to get a bit of experience at a lower level. -
This. With Cork on the right again. Morgan and Deano have to be the middle pair when all three play.

Would love a Saints squad with that sort of ability!

I'd stick with Saturday's starting XI, maybe just FR to come back in for Harding. I see no reason to change the midfield, they were very decent on Saturday. Dropping Deano out of the XI, let alone the squad, would be madness
-
As suggested elsewhere, Watford had been sticking with the 10% rule and giving visitors just over 2k, but have apparently relaxed this and have given larger allocations when there has been demand, due to them never selling out anyway. West Ham will have to give us the option to have a 10% of the capacity, which is about 3.5k. I imagine we'll get an initial allocation of 2k or so, with more available up to 3.5k (ish).

My Spurs supporting mate thinks this bloke will be a good signing for them in years to come. Quick. A better SDR maybe?
-
We have. I suppose an advantage is that our games are fairly spread out at the moment, not saturday, tuesday, saturday, so plenty of time to work with the new boys in training. And with FA cup 4th round weekend coming up, that's another chance to play around a bit with the starting XI if he wants to.
-
NA has never thrown any of his new signings straight in. 2-3 weeks getting them used to everything in training, then a sub appearance or 2, and then into the starting XI if he's up to it. Can see no reason for it to be different unless there's a crisis in a position one of these new boys play in

Did you word and format your email like your post on here?

It had nothing to do with Lambert being out. Forest weren't letting us play out from the back early on, they were pressing high up the pitch. That, and Guly was winning a lot of headers up there and making it stick, so we stayed with that approach
-
Strange how we all see it differently. I thought DC was immense on saturday. Linked up well and never stopped making clever runs. He pulled their defence all over the place which opened up gaps. He was unlucky not to get played in a few more times than he did, but even when a run isn't seen it still makes space for others. Very clever forward IMO
-
Forest are sh*t, and we really didn't create that much before the sending off. Hammond had a dig from distance early on, purely because Forest were so slow to close down, then there was our goal, and not a whole lot more before the red card. After the red card their heads dropped, we got a bit of luck with DC's goal, but we played some lovely stuff and had loads of room to get shots off. There aren't many teams in the league that will allow us anywhere near as much space as Forest did. If they did, we'd have scored from a lot more long shots and low balls into feet in the box over the season. As Appy said, if Lambo had been playing I'm sure we'd have won by more.
-
Alright, alright. Give us 5 minutes and I'll get back onside
-
Strange that, they make good noise these days

Nottingham Forest vs Southampton - Extended highlights 17 minutes
Jack replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
You won't see a much more one sided second half than that all year. I know they were sh*t and down to 10, but they were chasing shadows. -
Goes to prove that players do move on too early. Theo had so much more potential than Dyer at a young age, but I think moving to Arsenal at just 17 was far too early. Dyer has had first team football for the majority of his career and he's progressed really well. I think 2 more seasons in the Championship would have really brought Theo on a lot I reckon. Will be interesting to see if the same will be true of AOC, but wouldn't surprise me. You can't get anywhere near as much out of reserve games as you do in a first team, even if it is at a lower level. As I type, good run and finish from Theo....
