They haven't got enough to match us. We're too good at the back, and too good going forward. We will win this fairly comfortably
-
Sheffield Wednesday away

I fecking hope not. Working nights in Devon so no chance of getting to Posh. I think they'll save it for Middlesbrough, and set up a huge southern invasion of the North East.

Who do you want to go up to and down from the Premiership?
Jack replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Up - Saints, West Ham (grudgingly, at least they're a proper club), and Leeds through the playoffs (same reason as WHU). Down - QPR (example of how not to run a club), Wigan (northern rugby town, sh*t support), then a toss up between Bolton & Wolves. Bolton probably, there are too many Scottish managers in the prem, and theyre more northern. I think it'd be nice to see some of the old 'big' clubs back up there. The likes of Wigan, QPR, Reading, Burnley, Blackpool, and especially Portsmouth, can f*ck off -
We'll be on one of them. It's not going to be too bad. Grab a few beers for the train and hopefully be celebrating anyway. Hour and a half goes quick enough when on the p*ss.

I can't be arsed to check, but I can't think of one since Leeds on the opening day
-
Shaky, but has still only conceded 3 goals in the last 8 games, with 6 clean sheets. We'll beat this lot by 2 goals. I'm going for the old favourite, Blackpool 1-3 Saints.

Grumble. I'm sure it was much quicker than 1hr 34m to get back to Newcastle last time I was up there. Ballache. We've got mates in Newcastle which was swaying us to head there back there. Probably still do it, just a pain in the arse.
-
Any particular reason why? It's Blackpool FFS, not Barcelona.
-
Probably have a couple around Boro then back to Newcastle on the train. Way we saw it, if you're gonna drive 300+ miles, you might as well go a little bit further to go on the p*ss in a city that's actually worth visiting.

11/8 is very decent considering the form tables

Should someone tell Billy Sharp we didn't win the league last year?
Jack replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
He's actually more clever than you're giving him credit for. He noticed that Brighton's fan's hate for us is decreasing, and they've even stopped singing songs about us, so he thought he'd Stoke the fire a bit. He's a cheeky chap. -
Especially considering we're cantering along at 2.75 points per game over the last 8 games....
-
I think we'll put in a good performance and win. Ruthless attack vs a leaky defence. We're in top form and have defended well, apart from the Millwall game, and have always carried a threat going forward. Last 8 form: Saints - Won 7, drawn 1, lost 0, scored 18, conceded 3. B'pool - Won 2, drawn 2, lost 4, scored 14, conceded 18. I reckon Ollie is dreading it.

Saints 92 Reading 88 WHU 87 Birmingham 73 Brighton 72 Middlesbrough 72

They can, but someone who leaves on 80 minutes when 'supporting' a team that is on the verge of promotion to the Premier League is an absolute c*nt, IMO
-
It's ****ing pathetic that 5k(ish) fans were leaving with 5-10 mins to go. The team deserved applause on leaving the pitch, and clearly appreciated the few that stayed. Seems that too many JCL c*nts turn up and expect a good result as part of their £24 ticket fee. We'll always have a core of 20000, and the rest are plastic c*nts who will probably give the big one to the skates when we bash them 5-0.

F*ck knows how, but me and the girlfriend still end up struggling to save any considerable money on £50k+ between us. I chuck £500 in the joint account for rent, sky, council tax etc, and left with about £1300 after my other bills. Saints is costing me a fortune, about £100 every Saturday home game once the **** up has finished, and away games are expensive! Didn't get any change from £200 for Millwall away, and we won £650 between 5 of us!

This. We're heading to town early to make the most of the weather and beer on sale

Jos and Jose best centre back pairing in Championship?
Jack replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
That would do my brains in as a WHU fan, playing a centre half in front of 2 centre halves, in a home game. Pretty sure Fat Sam has done that against cannon fodder sides as well recently. Shocking. -
I think I'm right in saying that Outlook festival is the same as Hideout festival in that it was set up by the people who run The Warehouse Project, which is based in Manchester. Hideout was top notch but you're right in that it's aimed at Brits. I was talking to a couple of girls from Zagreb who have a holiday on the island where the festivals are (Pag) every year, and they were gutted that they couldn't get into the clubs being used for the festival. If you want a festival abroad with an international feel, try Exit Festival in Serbia. We went in 2009 for the 10th anniversary and it was by far the best festival I've done. 8pm-8am for 4 nights from Thursday to Sunday. It's set in a 17th century fortress which is so cool, loads of stages including some crazy small stages which are well worth checking out. The most expensive beer I found was the equivalent of about £1.30, a mixed grill at a restaurant in town will cost you about a fiver. Serbian people are very friendly and a good laugh (and the women are hot). Door to door, the week cost less than £500 in total. I can't say enough good things about it and can't wait to go back sometime. Maybe next year.

Are we planning on challenging Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc for the title next season then? Aim high I suppose....

September is definitely the time to go. We've been in June, August and September and the closing parties were stupidly good. Didn't make it last year so I'm keen to check out Sankeys, and I've never been to Ibiza Rocks. Probably a good chance to this year as Wednesdays have nothing much on. (Erick Morillo usually, but done that night twice now). Arrive Saturday, West End. Sunday - Space Monday - DC10, although Cocoon @ Amnesia would be good Tuesday - Carl Cox & Friends. Wednesday - Ibiza Rocks or Sankeys Thursday - Cream @ Amnesia. I don't mind a bit of trance and Cream is always a top night. Saw Deadmau5, Ferry Corsten, John O'Callaghan and Michael Woods there last time and it was ace. Friday - Heard that Sankeys will be getting some good nights on Fridays. Pete Tong also had good lineups last year in Eden but his night will be in Pacha this year I think. Big improvement. Saturday - back to reality
