Can't wait for this one. Would love the 3 points to seal promotion and keep the pressure on Reading. It's going to cost a fortune - 2 nights out in Newcastle and a sh*tload on fuel/hotels/beer. Hoping the skates get finished off on Saturday as well. F*ck me I'm excited!
-
Quality from Lallana for the 2nd and 3rd. Managed to stay on his feet for the 2nd and whip a great cross in. Maybe Nigel has had a word about us going down too easily recently
-
Well deserved, nothing flashy but they know how to counter attack. Thought Forest had nicked one at the death but cleared off the line, nearly spunked in my pants! That said, we're coming for you. Saints to nick the title on goal difference on the last day. Also, lol at Fat Sam and West Ham. I know it's not over, but it might as well be.

COYR FFS. Hope that Fergie Junior is moaning like f*ck later.

Where will the radio listeners be tonight be tonight and how will we cope?
Jack replied to AndyD's topic in The Saints
I'm stuck in Devon working nights, re-wiring a school. I shall be using the school wifi to listen to 5live extra through my phone, and get regular score updates. Got a West Ham fan and a Bristol City fan so I'm expecting a lot of shouting and excitement. -
Are West Ham getting a points deduction tonight then?

If fit: Davis Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox Chaplow Cork Schneiderlin Lallana Lambert Sharp Bart, Martin, Hammond, De Ridder, Guly I only say Bart because I don't think it's worth the risk considering none of the other potential subs are likely to be required.

Should Brighton be investigated for Saturdays game ?
Jack replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
We should investigate the skates for the 2 wonder goals they scored against us. They've never done that twice in a game before. Doping? The West Ham v Brighton game was 'just one of those days'. Just like when we won 6-0 at Molineaux. Everything we hit went in. It happens. There's no conspiracy. -
One of my biggest hates in football, is when club's fans and owners forget where they have come from after a little bit of success. See Colin getting sacked at QPR - impatient owner McCarthy at Wolves - impatient mong fans, putting pressure on the chairman. The list goes on and on if you look back over the years. I look at the clubs who's expectation gets far beyond what is realistically achievable and sustainable, and think I would hate to see that happen at my club. There are signs of it emerging already. Nigel Adkins has done an unbelievably good job at Southampton, and what he has achieved far surpasses what we thought possible in the time he's been here. Even if we don't achieve automatic promotion, it'll still be a fantastic season. Before the season started, nearly every one of us would've had your hand off if offered a top 6 finish. That's in the bag already. Give it a rest, grab an oar, and get behind the lads FFS.

Saints / Reading / West Ham run in: Games to go . . .
Jack replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
Seems to me that most of the melts on here that never go to games are the ones predicting the worst outcome for Saints, where the regular attendees are more optimistic. Yes, we've only won 1 in 4, which is disappointing. But with the exception of Blackpool we've been by far the better side in all of those games. The skate game was a freak occurrence. Sh*t players like that score goals like that once or twice in a career, lightning struck twice in a night. Palace away was as comfortable as you like. We outplayed the top form team for most of the match, but didn't take our chances as we have been for most of the season. Reading will still drop points IMO, they've ridden their luck recently and I think it'll catch up with them. Would be a completely different story if Brighton weren't so gash at finishing (against Reading), and defending (against WHU). Many twists and turns yet, the title isn't won, the playoffs aren't decided. Just try to enjoy it a bit! We're 3 points clear of 3rd place, in the Championship, with 3 games to play, after getting promoted just 11 months ago. -
He said "Cortese will have looked at....." Not really suggesting that that's his opinion, more that he's ITK somehow Just a ridiculous statement.

How do you know this? Source?
-
How's 'over reacting, attention seeking, bed wetting f*cktards'? To me, either one delivers the sentiment I was after
-
Yep, sh*t manager. We should have won the league in December and at least won a domestic cup. Not like we're on the brink of successive promotions or anything FFS.
-
Yea, that's why I normally avoid this place after a defeat. The same mongs that have started these 'Premier League we ARE having a laugh' threads, will be calling for Adkins' head after 10 games next season if we're in the bottom 3 of the prem. Morons.

It's a good thing that the majority of the wrist slitters on here make up a tiny percentage of our support, and an even smaller percentage of out support that actually attends our matches. They have very nearly zero affect on what goes on at the club, so let them whine and moan and wind themselves into a frenzy on here, it means nothing.
-
Was poor again last night. In 42, when at out loudest, I reckon only about 25% would be singing. I think nerves and expectation are killing it. I have no idea why though, we should just be enjoying the ride being on the bring of successive promotions.
-
Good, isn't it. We've got 3 players who have scored more than their top scorer, and one of our centre halfs is only 3 behind. Jos Hooiveld hattrick tonight....
-
Buzzing for this. I'm off to get good and drunk to take the edge off. An afternoon drinking in town and a top of the table clash involving the Saints. Can't think of a better way to spend a friday off work. For anyone nervous - remember the last 1st vs 2nd crunch game at SMS? A great performance and a thoroughly deserved win. Same again tonight.

But we could have played for 5 hours at the pace of Monday's game. Was a walk in the park after Lambo's second. They had a gruelling game chasing the ball all round the park at Brighton, and they've had a day less to prepare for this one since our last round of games.
-
I'm confident. More confident than I was about Monday's game. The skate game was a freak result, Palace was stupidly comfortable, and we got better and better. Reading are missing important players, and got a lucky result on Tuesday. I listened to it and Brighton battered them. We'll create opportunities, and we've got the strikers to finish them off. 3-1 Saints. Job done.
-
My best guess is that he was on here every time we were playing.
-
I do a lot of away games, but managed to get into January this season without seeing us win away. And I was drove to Forest, which is the first and last time I'd put myself through that, so couldn't get drunk to celebrate. Leicester 3-2 Cardiff 2-1 Derby 1-1 Reading 1-1 Bristol C 2-0 Donny 1-0 Skates 1-1 Brighton 3-0 Awful run. Since then has been ok, Forest 0-3 Millwall 1-1 (cup) WHU 1-1 Watford 0-3 Millwall 2-3 Palace 0-2
-
No thanks. Matt Jarvis would be a top signing, but I'd guess he'd go to an already established mid-table team on fairly big wages.
