Not an enjoyable return to the premiership. Loads of empty seats, hopelessly quiet in the Northam, so much for getting behind the lads. It's what I knew would happen though, too much expectation and people turning up demanding a win. Was going to be a shocker from the off, a grown man in replica shirt trying to wrestle a giant flag through the turnstiles. Poor display too. Although we never really looked like conceding until we did, we didn't have much of a threat going forward. Careless in possession, slowing the ball down too much, sh*tloads of hoofball which was doing my head in. Officials were useless but can't be blamed for the defeat.

A fine improvement on saint1971's Uruguay/Saints story.

Stop clogging up the thread with irrelevant posts you fannies!! Has the player in question even been mentioned on this page? Gaston Ramirez CDAJFU IMO FFS.
-
He's got time on his side. They'll get more nervous the longer it goes without a second bid coming in from elsewhere, which I don't think will happen given how complicated a deal it is, and is well documented to be. We'll sign him IMO, just not as quickly as everyone would like.
-
My guess - throwing everyone into a frenzy on here with "It's a done deal" claims from clearly ill advised 'sources'.
-
I sort of meant it in a different way. These are the crazy prices being thrown around on big name players. £12m for Ramirez looks a much better deal than all of the above.
-
I think it's fair to say he's considerably better than: Steven Fletcher (£12m), (reportedly) Jordan Henderson (£20m), Stuart Downing (sh*tloads) James Milner (sh*tloads) Ashley Young (probably)(sh*tloads) Plus with age on his side, and hopefully without the ego, I really like the sound of Ramirez. £12m is huge for us, but you won't get many better players for that sort of money.

Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game

Rasiak at Derby. Goals vs skates. Recently: Lambert vs Millwall away. De Ridder at Reading. Fonte vs Cov. Knew we were there. -
A good point, very well made. I'll apologise if I'm wrong, but it's not even vaguely believable b*llocks IMO.
-
Give it a rest. Earlier your 'source' was someone loitering at a hotel, now you've got an agent's flight details?
-
Guessing IMO. "Mate's dad's ex missus' hairdresser's bit on the side heard...."
-
My best mate is a skate. An absolute cvnt when it comes to Saints/Pompey discussion, but he's a top bloke.
-
Not underestimating them, just pointing out that we'll approach the game very differently, being at home and against a bottom half side.
-
Part of the game plan which will be different for every opposition. Expect us to be much more adventurous against Wigan as we'll have more of the ball, and will be less likely to be picking it out of our own net if a 'hollywood ball' goes a bit wrong.
-
I think it should be 4-4-2 as well. I'd play: ------------Davis Clyne---Fonte---Jos---Fox Ramirez-Morgan-Davis-Lallana ---Lambert------Sharp Guly for Ramirez if that goes tits up. Although I think it's likely to be: ------------Davis Clyne---Fonte---Jos---Fox ---------Schneiderlin------ -----Davis--------Lallana---- Ramirez/Guly-------Rodrigues ---------Lambert---------- They're not bad going forward but poor defensively, just attack. 4-2 victory.

I've been saying all along that Tadanari Lee is going to be top quality. I think he'll nail down one of the wide positions in the front 3, it's suited to him. Was really impressed in the few games he played last season, good touch, runs the channels well, and can clearly strike the ball well.
-
He's gone on loan to Bompey. HTH.
-
14-16. Push for top half next season.
-
Lee Barnard double hat-trick. As a second half substitute.
-
Lee Barnard to Bournemouth on loan - Confirmed

Players released from Barnet? No, they haven't got a good side. Comfortable Bompey win IMO, would love Barney to get on the scoresheet. -

I wonder if Ramirez speaks much Italian? Guly's Italian must be pretty good after being there that long -

Yes. -
Then you'd think he'd put a bit of effort in to make it harder for people to make him look stupid? I suppose there's no educating some people, terminally unintelligent.

I always enjoy your blogs, keep it up. Minor error - you have both us and West Ham down for finishing 16th
