Out but it would mean that we have a Director of Football who has lost one good manager (Pochettino), pushed another out (Koeman) and employed two no-hoppers as well as overseeing the decimation of a good squad. Doesn't he have to fall on his sword too?

There is also a second hand copy on abebooks.co.uk - possible the same copy, at £35: http://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/SearchResults?bt.x=70&bt.y=12&isbn=9780838637753&sts=t&tn=Dickens%3A+The+Orphan+Condition

I'm certainly not pointing a finger at him. It's just that this all involves SFC and 'others' therefore it would make sense for SFC to try to host a reconciliation of some sort. At the moment all concerned are looking petty. As well as damaging the club, I don't think it's doing a lot for the reputation LM or the ex-players involved either. And they say posters on football forums are childish...
-
Hi UP good to see you back. I wouldn't want to take sides in this but it is clearly not doing a lot for the club's reputation. It's a pity Cortese can't host a dinner or something for the other parties so that they can talk it out between themselves.
-
Thanks for the clarification Steve. At least that makes more sense, I appreciate you don't need libellous comments on here even if GM want to take the risk. BTW you said "the burden of proof is with the accuser" in reply to FF. Did you mean the defendant??
-
If GM had said anything libellous in the two posts that got him banned, why are they still there for all to see?

I completely agree with Minty. I actually came away having enjoyed the game today. I can't say the same about any of the other home games. We showed a definite improvement in commitment particularly in the second half and had there keeper not pulled off three pretty good saves from Rickie we could easily have won the game. A plus point for me were our subs. Dickson did what he's meant to but Holmes I thought deserved special mention for a strong performance and putting in some fine corners. I've never rated him in the past. I feel more optimistic about our season now. Good work Mr Adkins.
-
I support the Chairman and believe my own eyes. I don't think Pardew had the ability to change things when a game wasn't going well. His belated action in the second half against both Plymouth and Orient and his odd substitutions were enough to convince me that our chances of automatic promotion weren't as clear cut as they could be with the right manager. As I said elsewhere give Cortese a chance. We have only seen the first half of the picture. Let's see who he brings in and what they achieve before complaining. That's my last post of the day....
-
He is currently being paid to run Southampton Football Club NOT a bank FFS. (A job which Markus felt him eminently suitable for). Is your advice that he makes no decisions without consulting the bookies first? Let's see what he does next before we get the nails and wooden cross out shall we?
-
So having got rid of Pardew, if he brings in a new manager that brings us success you'll think he's worse than Lowe??? Sorry but that is complete ******.
-
Morning Alps You know you really should post more often on 'another Saints site'. I find it more fun over there (different user name though). As you can see from this recent quote (not from me) you're missed: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_mb.php?m=v&t=5252&page=2#129 See ya.

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
Running Man replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
Hi Alps - must say I agree with your post of late. We're playing an extremely dangerous game leaving transfers this late. I can't see Pardew being around a lot longer personally. Perhaps we should have a sweepstake thread? -
I'm all for censoring rascist bigots - easy decision in my book. Allowing this thread to continue sullies the reputation of the forum imho
-
Totally agree Master Bates. I only read this because this forum has been mentioned in the Echo today in this respect. I really can't see why Granty and Baj allow this sort of sh!te on here at all. I presume they don't condone it.
-
Be honest you only said it to get out of sex with the missus.
-
Pretty much agree with that. Hammond had a good match although he should have one of his digits chopped off every time he shoots outside the final third and wastes a good build up. Mellis was the opp side to me and came off at half time but I think he does a decent job and deserves a chance.
-
I'm up for it.., I've already moaned that it's f*cking obvious that Thomson and James would be better on the bench then the answer to our right wing problem in the second half. I would have thought that Dan Harding would offer a lot more presence up front than Patterson (just joking - I think ).
-
Back from match. Thought a few weeks ago that James and Thomson were a terrible right wing pairing so what do we do second half? Has no-one told them that you need to run down the wing where there were no defenders before you cross? Crosses from near the half way line will be collected by the keeper every time. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:smt021:smt021:smt021:smt021:smt021:smt021:smt021 I'm beginning to think that out team and manager don't learn by their mistakes. There is no point buying good strikers if you don't have wingers to provide.
-
I totally agree and from what I've seen of him at the home matches this season he seems up for it.
-
Great report shurlock, thanks. Enjoyed reading that & it gives me confidence that Pardew is building a good team and improving things which is the way I saw the Brentford game. As you say it won't get any worse.
-
This is only my personal opinion but I think that if only our (English) players had decent dental hygienists we would be walking this league FFS FACT Tim.
-
Well said - it will get better imho but we do need to be patient.
-
There were promising signs of progress today but I agree totally with this. I imagine he will leave soon but with our present squad I still think Saga and Lambert are the best up front pairing.
-
Yes you could see it coming. Everyone just seemed to stand off him. Had Murty and not James been there may be it would have been different.
