  1. He is from Brighton and his sons are in the city. As is his academy. These don't count for nothing
  2. Couldn't agree more.
  3. He would because Downes will stay at West Ham
  4. Shirt sales would be a nice bonus too. 😉 I hope we're after him.
  5. Do you mean England Under 19, £20m rated, 7 goals from midfield in 45 games, wanted by Tottenham and other Prem clubs as well as those in Europe Jobe Bellingham? That one? Yeah. No idea. Jeez
  6. Latest I have heard is he'd like to end up at Brighton one day but not now. Swansea stuff is messy.
  7. They are testing if his skin is adequately moisturised
  8. I think he'll buy a house in Bitterne
  9. Quite. Hate this idea of all these lags saying it's safe to return to their comfy home. Not the answer. Can do better. They will not be 'hungry' - although guess too late to stop the moisturiser boy returning. Broja not good enough - maybe it's all lazy journalism/agent talk
  10. Slightly harsh on Aribo I think. He was hugely important in providing ball retention and nous in the run in, and very much in the final. For that should be retained. Sure, not a starter every week, but would definitely have him on board. Clearly has revelled under Martin as he was useless under the others
  11. A decent goalkeeper is an absolute must. McCarthy saying he's happy to stay as number one but has offers elsewhere is his agent just wanting promises and bumper pay. We shouldn't give him assurances. And Bazanu just isn't good enough, sorry. Butland or a balls out move to get Ramsdale on the basis that he's best mates with Brooks (I know, tenuous). There must be more options. This position cost us badly at times last season and also in the Prem.
  12. A teensy bit worried about Russell Martin getting the Brighton job ahead of Potter, who wouldn't be 100% popular after the way he left. Martin has many links to the city and is second favourite in the betting. I hope he stays with us, as losing him now would be pretty difficult to deal with given the unity he has created and style he has imposed. Not insurmountable, of course, but if Potter feels the England job is a better one for him to wait for, eek. At the very least I hope Martin is using this interest to secure a pay rise/contract extension as he mentioned more than once in interviews that he hopes to be here/not be sacked next season. Anyway, he's 9-1 for the job, if anyone wants to ease the pain/cause the Gods to make him stay at Saints.
  13. Yes. Like a young Adam Lallana...

Good interview post-match with Dragan - on Talksport (with Jim White) now. Impressed with his love of the club and plans. 'Tonight I am a really happy owner'
  15. In terms of returns, how about Antonio? Could add big physical presence up front and a good goalscorer. Could ask while on the phone for Downes...
  16. That goal. A tiny bit like Bobby Stokes? 1-0 against the favourite. Low and in the corner? Just me then. So happy and proud of the Saints fans. Had conditioned myself to another year on the Championship with thoughts of ‘at least there is no VAR’ etc. will need to strengthen cleverly, especially to replace Che. Brilliant that it finally happened to us and we made it
  17. Amazing day. Incredible atmosphere at Wembley and yah boo to the cocky Leeds fans on the tube trying to get a rise. Great performance - especially Downes, Harwood Bellis, Aribo, Walker Peters, and yes, McCarthy. He was a solid presence throughout. Excited for next season
  18. Tickets still haven't arrived. Eek
  19. Still no ticket arrival via post. If anyone at the club is reading this, please pull your finger out
  20. Tickets haven’t arrived yet. Getting a bit nervy. Anyone else?
  21. I'm in but too early apparently. damn
  22. Russell Martin is a Brighton lad, runs an academy in the city (both my kids have played in them) and his son is at school there too. Thus he is a contender for the Brighton job. Wouldn’t be surprised. He’s 15/2 for it. If he goes we should opt for David Moyes or Steve Cooper. I think we’ll know after next Sunday.
  23. We are SO boring. You can have all the build up play you like but if you don’t have any directness and shots in the final third you will never score or win. Which is why Martin’s style is so bad. On our winning run we had a bit of directness. That has all been squashed out of us and is completely encapsulated by Smallbone’s tedious pass back style. This could all end very badly.
  24. He was aiming for the door but ended up hitting the back seat instead
  25. Another SFC goalkeeping gift to the world
