Agree wholeheartedly. We're back to this thing where certain posters expect that, when a player or indeed the whole team plays well, that those criticising the performance of that player or indeed the whole team beforehand are somehow going to be upset. Get over it. I personally have never rated Davis. I think he's a good shot stopper, but keepers who are called that a lot are usually not very good at everything else. I would say that from the little I have seen of him this season that confidence is aiding those weak areas (coming for crosses, basic communication), and yes, he is playing well. Good. This pleases me. Long may it continue etc. Might be because he is given added authority in such a young team. But this juror is still out on his overall skills - why not just be happy he's playing well? I am.

Let's get the top of the league. Then all the teams we will play will be below us, so we will win the Championship and get promoted. Wasted round here I am.

I think the players will go into that complacent mode that kicks in when we are expected to win (which also affects the fans) and it will kick us in the teeth again. Defensive frailties exposed. They'll roll their sleeves up and win the way we should but can't. 2-1 to them. Really hope I'm wrong.

Personally, I wouldn't want any old takeover. I'd want a takeover from an individual or company with enough money to make a difference. Which in the current climate - vis a vis credit crunch or football world - is a heck of a lot. PS had horrible dream we'd enter a ground share with Pompey to ease each of our financial worries...

Presumably it was in part to lift his signing price with Ipswich, but since that has fallen through (possibly because) we can't afford to pay him the extra - ie the appearance money as stipulated in said new contract (or even the old one). Confused? I think we all are. He might not be brilliant or even a team player but right now we could do with the experience.
