Sometimes you need to sign a player in part to stop him signing for your rivals. Bats.
-
If we are, all is forgiven
-
Still, the upside is that Ings won't play on Saturday and score the obvious written-in-the-stars goal against us. I hope.
-
Ings and Wood are reasons why both West Ham and Forest will finish above us. Really think our management is a bit dim.
-
He absolutely loves claret and blue
-
Steve Twigley…

🚨 Southampton want to sign Lyon striker Karl Toko-Ekambi (30) – the French side would demand at least €4million for the Cameroon international #saintsfc @FabriceHawkins no brainer
-
Something quite poetic about a Wood going to a Forest. Matt Oakley would have been good there too.
-
Feels a very sensible signing, this. Hope we get it done. Fills a big Oriel hole
-
I think if Lavia went to Chelsea he'd start quite a few games
-
what are we looking at? A flight from where, meaning what?
-
I hope not, but if there is a £50m offer or above I certainly think our owners will look at it seriously
-
Still a bit worried that if a big offer comes in for Lavia he'll go this window. If it hasn't already.
-
Not sure I follow. Don't they own Broja?
-
Lavia sweetener 😉
-
brilliant if not a Lavia replacement.
-
Certainly beyond when we play them, that's for sure

Che Adams on missed chances: “I’m just not getting the right connection at the right time, so that’s what I would like to work on. Having that cool mind in front of goal, really relaxing & blocking out any outside noise.” #saintsfc [echo] “also, not being shit”
-
Just a reminder that Nathan Jones has won one Premier League game. But yes. Pinch of salt.
-
Perhaps the search is for a striker who fits the bill financially first, and then has the ability to make a contribution in the Championship, which is still a big possibility
-
He will be fronting a hospital-based, fly-on-the-wall show called 'Ings under the scanner'
-
Can't see Ings wanting to come back. Too much for the ego. Would be good, but think we should probably invest more time in the Hull chappie - probably more efficient use of energy and less chance of disappointment. We are a 'Wolves or an Everton', after all. Perhaps Liverpool might offer him a lifeline... (joking)
-
Surprised Everton not in for him. Toffees after Moffi seems made in heaven
-
I think he could work. Has the physicality we need. And can score.
