  1. Jake Sinclair is the real deal. Cant wait for him to break through, although I reckon he will be handled carefully.
  2. We use Guly in his preferred position, or De Ridder in a position he is comfortable in, or fast track Jake Sinclair or one of the other promising youngsters, or Forte maybe. Personally I think we do not necessarily rely on a top striker, we score throughout the team. Now if Adam gets a knock ..................
  3. Not sure the purchase price has ever been a problem here. We could have got Jermaine Beckford I am sure, we have shown that we are prepared to offer top money for players. What we are absolutely not prepared to do is pay stupid salaries. About frickin time a football chairman has the balls to say enough is enough! We start paying 30k a week for a new player, we immediately have to up the salaries of half our players or else risk having division in our squad. All of a sudden we are back in the financial mire, losing hundreds of thousands of pounds a month. These players are just not worth the money they are paid, and if we miss out on promotion because we refused to cave in to ridiculous player demands, I for one will not be in the slightest bit upset.
  4. No he didn't.
  5. Bold, decisive management. it could have blown up in his face, but that did not stop him doing it. Lovely to have a manager that really seems to understand how to get the most out of his squad. Top class.
  6. Brian Clough. Every single 16 year old about to sign their first contract should be forced to read it. Maybe then they will recognise just how bl00dy lucky they are.
  7. Yeah, 3 games in, scored 8, conceded 2. Desperate!!!!!!!
  8. click on the saints game, it gives you all the match stats on the left, and the table and other scores on the right. Glad to help.
  9. Wouldnt his agent know this? No idea, just would seem strange that he wouldn't, seeing as he would have been involved at pretty much every level!
  10. Not really. Other than maximising revenue. Look. I would be happier if all parking was free. I would be happier if there was no additional cost of purchasing a ticket. But parking costs and there is an admin fee on the ticket. I will be honest with you. I am past caring. Really I am. I saw they had introduced it. THought it might be a touch harsh, then i got on with my life and have not spent any more time thinking about it. I just wish some would do the same!
  11. Look, i can't explain why its £3, no one on here because we do not have all the figures to hand. However. As a transactional cost for aquiring tickets, i would say it is pretty much the norm. Theatre/gig/plane tickets all carry a transaction cost, and are all pretty similar. It is way too simplistic to say that the cost of the stamp and the 5 mins someone took to post it does not add up to £3 and therefore it should be less. I wonder if you took all the fixed costs of running the ticket office and divided it by the number of transactions, the figure is probably getting close to £3. Therefore, the £3 admin fee means the club is not paying for the distributions of tickets, and may well mean that money is going to go into a nice shiny new centre-back. There is another way of course. Buy a season ticket. Oh no! wait a second! are we not to believe the club do not want us to do that either!
  12. Surely if they wanted to "screw" with the fans, they would have just increased the price of every ticket by £3. That would have been a stealth tax, and it would have hit everybody. Why would they call it an admin fee if it was not the cost of administrating the sale of the ticket?
  13. I have renewed 5 ST, 3 of which required proof of id as they were under 17's. I now have the tickets at home. I did not leave my house to do it. It just needed a phone call.
  14. Why on earth would you be embarrassed by the amount of people turning up to watch a football match! I really, really dont get it!
  15. He did say one or two, but that was before de ridder. Dont be suprised if thats it for the start of the season.
  16. Looks very much like a direct replacement for Chamberlain, and with £9million change!
  17. The point you seemed to be making was that we need to sign more players in order to have a successful season, and then highlighted Norwich and their 7 signings as proof of your argument. I was just pointing out that maybe we do not need 7 signings. If you are now saying we need less than 7, how many? 6, 5, 4, or maybe the 3 (Jack Cork + 2 others) that Adkins has said is on the way? Maybe Norwich had several players who left? If we lose no one, does that not mean we are in a better net position? I still have not seen anyone come up with a list of positions, other than a CB and a CF, that we need to spend money to improve. So whilst the numbers of transfers do not make you fall out of your chair, maybe, just maybe, we dont actually need loads of transfers.
  18. Name 7 positions that, with cheap signings, we can realistically improve our side?
  19. I think we could all have a pretty good go at naming the starting 11 right now and we would all be pretty close. Lets not kid ourselves, we DO NOT need to change half the team that finished last season like a steam train. Maybe we are not signing anyone because we just dont need too?
  20. He now does goalie coaching courses for the local lads in our youth league. My goalie goes to them and says he is the best. Really good bloke.
  21. I disagree with this. I think NA sees the CM as Morgan +1. Both Chaplow and Hammond look 10x the player when playing alongside Morgan, and I am sure NA sees it the same way.
  22. I think he has done an awesome job. Lets not forget that 'the most expensive squad in league 1 history" (it was Fulham by the way) was built last year, he has hardly added to it. What we had this year is focus, which is 100% down to the man at the top. I felt that the team got carried away last year with the 2 cup runs whereas this season we have nailed it in the league. As has been said before, having good players is handy, but you have to turn them into a team and that is what NA has done. I wonder how we would have done last year without Adam, Lee, The leagues best winger , Morgan and Rickie Lambert with 1/3rd less goals! It is how he has dealt with that that makes me think he could become a great manager at SMS.
  23. Smalling is down as having his transfer put through July 2010, although technically I guess you are right. Harley is just strange. Why do it for a free transfer? Not a huge amount of others, considering it seems to be an option every time we sell someone.
  24. Do these 'Loan Back' deals actually ever happen? I am forever hearing them bandied around by fans and ITKers, but I struggle to recall it happening anywhere!
  25. First interview in english as well so fair play to him for that (Tevez still cant speak english!)
