  1. Surely another striker must be priority as well unless Pardew is confident of keeping Saga and Rasiak as we only have 3 strikers at the moment.
  2. So sad to hear of his death, some of the stories people have told about him are truly moving. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting the guy but the twinkle he has always had in his eye for football has made him a true legend. RIP Sir Bobby, you will be missed.
  3. I hate the OS, why post a headline like that on a day they know fans will be waiting for some big news. So infuriating.
  4. In this league he would score a lot of goals if his heart was in it, which it isn't. Saturdays performance showed that Rasiak was much more up for it and I'd rather keep him and Stern ahead of Saga, with Paterson as a third option.
  5. Very good signing, lower league experience and the right age. Hopefully that means that Pardew witnessed the awful display by Molyneux on Sat and he'll be making a swift exit!
  6. I disagree with the opinion that we 'surrendered' and 'accepted defeat'. The team was lined up ina way to prevent Ajax from playing their game, which for the first half largely worked. Rasiak held the ball up fairly well and the 3 in midfield worked hard allowing lallana and mills to get forward. IMO it was bringing on Saga that changed things. He cannot play as a lone striker as he cannot hold the ball up, from then on we struggled and Ajax got into their passing game. But lets be realistic, it is pre-season and they are a much better side than us. Lets wait til the seasons started at least before people start ranting about a lack of effort.
  7. Very pleased with the appointment. Good lower league track record and did reasonably with West Ham once in the Prem. We were never going to get Strachan back and a big name manager wouldn't have definitely brought success. Alan Pardew's Red and White Army! COYR! Can't wait for Ajax game now
  8. Thank you very much Markus Liebherr!!!! At long last we can look towards the new season!
  9. 'Lets go Wilde' Falkia
  10. finally light at the end of a very dark tunnel! we definitely do deserve this, lets bring back the glory days... eventually! COYR!!!!
  11. The 2-0 win over Everton always stands out for me in the great escape season. Remember Pahars scoring a header whilst almost lying on the floor it was so low. Also the 2-2 draw against Newcastle in the 90's when Matt equalised at the Milton end, was right behind that strike as it flew in! Good times.
  12. How about FC Saints, similar to FC United

    Surman

Good luck to him, don't believe he is Premiership quality but then neither are Wolves! Wish he'd lived up to his potential but wish him all the best.
  14. Your reputation will never be tarnished Matt, always my hero.
  15. Left side is a hell of a lot stronger than the right. Llyod James gave a silly free kick away against Cardiff leading to the goal, then Jamie White gave away the pen last week. Don't get me wrong I think both will be great prospects in the future but at the moment they look a bit too raw. Whereas the left side has Surman's relative experience alongside the obvious quality of Holmes. However, I don't think playing Dyer there will be any better, as he is poor defensively as well and would give James no cover. Maybe BWP would be an option out there, but I definitely think that is the weakest area of our team so far this season.

    Rudi

Holmes has been a great signing so far IMO. Much more productive than Rudi, better final project and loads more energy. Also wants to play for the club which is the main thing.
