  1. Our Claus Chrissy Marsden football genius (loved the Paul Wotton version of this last night!) Ostenstad Kevin Davies
  2. He was also once a professional footballer and an international, unbelievable really.
  3. Puncheon is technically a very good player, possibly even too good sometimes at this level. His major problem is delaying when he plays his pass. I do agree with his comment though that he is beginning to play better again. I think NA could have a massive impact on this, if he plays it quick and effectively he will prove to be one of the best players we have, if he doesn't he will be another Belmadi/Fernandes and tht proves to be extremely frustrating.
  4. The same as Bridgey, Crouch or Theo, I still love to see them do well and can't help but celebrate when they score. His first was an absolute peach, Man Utd's replacement for Giggs without a doubt.

    The 90's

Definitely my era, first Saints game in the 90's and some fantastic memories from the family centre and then Milton Road end at The Dell. Le Tiss, Magilton, Watson, Micky Evans, Pahars, Ostenstad, Berkovic, Dodd, Benali, Ecklund, Ali Dia! The list is endless. Matty's goals against Newcastle, 3-1, 6-3 and 1-0 against Man Utd. Great Escape season in 98/99. Those were the days

    Striker

Healy would be a fantastic signing. I don't think we should continue to consider Connolly as a real first team option, far too injury prone and has played no where near enough games in his time here. As soon as he gets any kind of a run of form/fitness he seems to get another injury. Therefore, if Bignall is not good enough, which I doubt he is, we only have two real options. One dropped and the other lacking form, a big signing in January is a must.
  7. I love the passing game that NA is trying to instill, but it does worry me in these sort of games where the weather/pitch etc are against us and the other team are bang up for it and put us under lots of pressure. We need a happy balance and to be able to admit that sometimes, especially away from home, we need to go more direct. If NA gets the balance right we'll definitely still go up this season.
  8. Boring?! We played some great football under him, Beattie was awesome and we got to a cup final and finished 8th in the Premiership. I certainly didn't find that season boring!
  9. A bit like a mix of Graham Potter and Kleber Chala with Paul Williams pace?
  10. This should be the one, good work on that last line! I liked this song for Delgado and its an easy, catchy chant. Songsheets anyone???
  11. Can't remember what it was called, near the chip shop and the magic roundabout. It was full of Saints fans and had a large beer garden/car park, lots of fans were singing it outside, not sure if this was the pub you were at?
  12. What is the point of ditching a reserve team for an under 21 side when players like Wotton are playing, surely defeating the object of it. The Nike academy does have some talented players but surely our more experienced players would benefit more when coming back from injury etc by playing against similar players from other clubs.
  13. It was sung at Swindon, it was sung in the pub beforehand and at times during the game. Most people didn't bother to sing at all in that game though which may have been why you didn't hear it.
  14. Hopefully be another Waigo/Antonio, quick, direct and a different option.

    Morgan

If Kevin Davies gets injured then maybe RL will get a call up, making it the three we need!
  16. Does anyone know whether the season ticket holder has to buy the additional tickets or would I be able to go down with my friends season ticket number and postcode to buy them, providing he has given me permission, which he has!
  17. I was there and it was my first trip to see Saints at Old Trafford as well. Fernandes absolute belter!
  18. 20 out of the 92 with Saints at the moment. 4 others as a neutral. The highest from one league is still the Prem though 8 of the current 20.
  19. This version is the best!

    Arrested 11

"He robbed from the skates, he robbed from the skaaaates... BRADLEY WRIGHT PHILLIPS! He robbed from the skates!" One of my favourite ever Saints chants, I love this thread!
  21. The 'New Forest' Derby! That makes the rivalry sound even greater! I don't feel any hatred towards them, actually quite like them as our nearset club apart from the Skates and because I went to Uni there. I even still find myself looking out for their results even though we are in the same division
  22. Well said. Although I love Morgan I do feel he needs to dig in a bit at times and I am getting very fed up with these rallying calls.
  23. Definitely Lallana, he was our best player last season and this season has proved how much we've missed him.
  24. I know that Chamberlain is playing well at the moment but we are in serious danger of running him into the ground. I would start with Mills and then have Chamberlain as an impact sub, where I think he would have more of an impact. I just can't see where goals are going to come from when Mills and Holmes are our two options coming off the bench.
