Pretty sure he was the Keeper against Winchester.
-
He's not. Complimentry about Saints...yes. Better than Lawrenson, Shearer and Hansen...yes. He certainly does more research. Still an utterly annoying bloke who bangs on about the same pointless things ("set up" for one) and refuses to believe he's ever been proven wrong...yes. The only thing this discussion highlights is the incredibly **** poor pundits that TV seems to employ.

Seeing as Adkins said a couple of games ago it is something they are trying then it's not hard to understand. Also, despite all the media coverage when it goes wrong, it's probably proven to be a more successful method of defending set pieces.
-
Thank you. What's my prize?
-
I doubt anyone important, his insight is common knowledge and is pretty standard practice. I learnt about this at Uni. Also Adkins mentions it during this Q&A

Well Lee wasn't on the pitch Saturday but that guy was fully involved in helping run the pre game warm ups. So I'd suggest he probably had some coaching experience before and has got himself a tidy little job on top of translating.
-
Yeah this. He was decent enough for us in a shocking season. Can't think of many players that were better than him that season. Surman, McGoldrick, Saeijs? That's about it.
-
Apart from the season he was one of our best players you mean?
-
Meh. Jarvis, OK, but it sounds as though Wolves are holding out for a lot of money. He'll probably leave towards the end of the window for a more realistic price. Maybe we'll be in for him then. Doesn't he prefer to play on the left anyway? Hardly a position we are struggling in anyway. Rodallega really isn't that good. He flatters to deceive. Hardly proflic (in a **** poor team for half of every season, fair enough) but he couldn't even get in the Wigan side at the end of it last year. Moses would be much better. Sinclair wouldn't want to tie himself to a 3/4 year deal when he could have a good season next year and have his move to Liverpool sewn up on a free. Hoilet is supposedly holding out for ridiculous wages. Isn't his Dad his agent? That's why he's on such a short term contract for Blackburn because his dad refused to sign him to a long term one so he could get a good deal out of him now. He'll go to QPR I suspect as they are stupid enough to give into his dads demands. I'm not entirely sure what their experiences would bring us either really? 2 of them have been relegated, 1 struggles every season and the other has had 1 good season in it. When people say they want experience, what exactly do they expect a player to be able to do?
-
For those claiming we should buy players with Premier League experience can you name some realistic and good players we should be after? IMO, we will be more than fine. We are buying good players and that is ultimately what you need. Premier League experience is slightly over rated. I'd rather some of our players than some of the guff in the Premier League right now. I see the risk but I'm confident if we get it right it will pay off. Again though, it would be interesting to read some names...

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

If Nixon is right, and is also right in saying it's a domestic transfer then I think it might be Dann. Nixon has links around that area. -
Kyle Naughton - Tottenham Hotspur (link in The Mirror)

I'll have a go. It's a nice idea and works well in theory but in reality we won't be the only club wanting to sign Naughton and if we started playing stupid games like that Levy would either find it disrespectful or laugh his nut off and would resort to talking to other clubs or keeping him. -
Did Dickson really play? He seems to have tweeted about a show on C4 during the 2nd half.
-
Of all the suggestions on this site lately this is up there with the most absurd.

Anyone disagree with the assessment inThe Echo - including the leavers?

The thing is though, while the likes of City and Co dread some sort of fear into clubs like ours, they are in the minority. Any team in the world would fear them. However, bar the top say...6 teams...The Premier League is not all that. Players like Dyer, Delap, Surman, Jones, Baird, and Best have all coped fine in it. Would they get in our team now? Possibly Dyer and Baird at the moment. Not to mention some of the utter guff that play for teams like Stoke and Norwich. The Premier League in terms of actual quality is not all that. It's good, it's better than the Championship, but other than the top 6/7/8 teams, it's not THAT much of a step up. -
I think you'd have to be incredibly naive to think that this doesn't happen on a weekly basis in The Premier League/Football League.
-
I've watched the first 30 minutes of the show and wins against Leeds, Birmingham, West Ham, Coventry and Brighton have now all been shown. Reading draw, and Leicester and Cardiff defeats too. No idea what you were watching.

Wanted by Man United? Care to try and prove that?

Claridge is on a par with Lawrenson for depressing and out of date comments. Baffled anyone thinks he's any good. The people in this thread must the the only I've known who seem to like him. Yes he says some nice things about us on the FLS but anyone who has listened to him on 5 live will know the guy is a grade A wally.
-
Not sure I've seen anything to suggest the jury isn't out on Lee, like it is apparently Lambert, Sharp or Rodriguez. Listen, I like Lee. I've been encouraged by his performances for us, but they are in the minority because of his injury. He's played 5 times maybe? Few sub appearances on top of that. We don't know how he would have coped if he hadn't been injured. He was just starting to get into a good little run and it was annoyingly cut short but anything could have happened. I'm baffled as to why in this thread he's being accepted as Prem quality whereas the jury is apparently still out on our other strikers who have all scored goals in the Championship. I think our 2nd choice striker is well and truly up for grabs and Lee as far as I'm concerned (and not his fault) is the least proven of them all at this very moment in time. As has been mentioned above, he has some useful attributes from what we've seen but building him up like we have in this thread as a bit harsh on the lad and could quite easily backfire. It's also harsh on our other strikers who I'm not sure could have done much more in the Championship last season but are seemingly stuck behind a lad who has played a handful of games. I like him, I'm excited to see how he does and i'm not doubting his ability but I am questioning why he's getting hyped because of a few games. He's still got a lot to prove. Don't throw the Japan thing in as an argument either. None of us know much or anything about their selection policy and his status in their squad.
-
Are you assuming Lee is prem class and that with him we will be OK then? What are these attributes that Lee provides that none of our other strikers could? You could quite easily argue he's our 4th best striker, certainly the least proven, so implying that because he's injured we need some cover is a bit odd.
-
Not sure about Moore but Reeves is with the development squad while the first team is away at the moment. Barnard, Forte, Dickson, Hoskins are also training with the development squad.
-
There is no such thing as value in football. You pay what you can afford and what the selling club can command. It's all subjective. Out of interest who are you considering the best left back in the world?

I think I know the woman. She's a bouncer in Oceana too I think. I remember her chasing me round the club and down the stairs after I peanuted her tie.
