I was just wondering mainly because it stinks nowadays and I was gonna ask you to sort it out. Also was gonna ask you to check on my student house which is just over the road and when I left it was infested with rats. I should probably do something about that before I head back in August.

A Gratuitous Anti Pompey Thread To Help Cope With The Stress

Embarrassing that 4 posts from Pompey fans have pwned the rest of the thread. -
What is to stop another consortium paying for exclusivity?
Hopkins replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I think honour and goodwill does come into it. Fry wants to sell to Pinnacle. Pinnacle and Fry have both said that Pinnacle will still be buying this club. If not solved by Thursday I think Pinnacle could be asked for some money to pay wages that they will have planned on paying anyway. -
The CVA situation is something Pinnacle will have to clarify with the FL now. This is the real make or break of the deal IMO. If the Football League don't want to admit they are wrong, they shall dock us -30 points because we will never be able to produce a CVA.
-
Can someone explain these rules to me. Straight from the FL rules and regulations. 12.3.1 With effect from the 10th May 2004, if any Club shall: - A have a manager, receiver or administrative receiver appointed in respect of that Club or any part of its undertaking or assets; b have an administration order made in respect of that Club; c have a winding-up order made in respect of that Club; d pass a resolution for the winding-up of that Club; e enter into any arrangement with its creditors or some part of them in respect of the payment of its debts or part of them as a company voluntary arrangement under the Insolvency Act 1986 or Scheme of Arrangement under the Companies Act 1985; or f have any proceeding or step taken or any court order in any jurisdiction made which has a substantially similar effect to any of the foregoing; that Club shall be deducted 10 points. A seems a bit worrying. Am I right in thinking SFC was an asset of SLH so therefore point A comes into place here and therefore we deserved this -10?
-
Anyone got the actual rules from the FL on administration and the actual places it states it must be the club that is in administration and not mentioning holding companies?
-
Anybody else think this is nothing to do with the points? I have a feeling that Pinnacle have accepted they are not going to appeal, but would like to know, because they are setting up a new company, what division we will be starting in next season. Am I right in thinking that a new company has to start in League 2? Therefore this emergency meeting has been set up to work out whether were allowed to play in League 1 with our 10 point penalty or League 2? Hence the footballing license problem that needs to be solved and will be.
-
I think alot of you underestimate how the media works. The reason they are talking about the 10 point deduction is because its about the 10 point deduction. One thing some of you need to know about the word "sources" when it is involved in the media...It normally means the person involved. In this example "Sky sources" would be Matt Le Tissier or Mark Fry. If "Sky sources understands that it is to do with the 10 point deduction" it means that Matty or Mark Fry has phoned up that guy outside St Marys and said "The football league are being ****s to do with this points deduction, however were not allowed to talk about it so just say its your sources that believe this is the reason" Its there communication with the fans without actually putting there name to it. Same goes for things like Peter and Jordan saga. When sources close to Jordan say "Peter is a *****" its Jordan saying it.
-
True. However you'd have to be pretty darn stupid to believe that if Matty and co had approached Tisdale, Exeter wouldn't know a thing. For a start it would show a complete lack of respect on Tisdale's part if he didn't mention it to Exeter that as of tomorrow he's going to do one. If Exeter did know something, they'd be looking for a new manager and eventually something somewhere would come out.
-
If it was Tisdale then Exeter would have made it public by now. Can't see it being Ince (As much as I would like it) because apparently Le Tiss doesn't like him. Can't see it being Shearer as he is a shoe in for the Newcastle job. Its Dowie. Won't be wanted by Shearer now the battle to save them is over, him and Matt are good friends, ex saints, looking for a club probably for a long term mission. I really hope its not Keegan and Dowie. Just one or the other.
-
Pretty obvious? It's pretty obvious that if he is to come back into management every championship club and a fair few premier league clubs would want him. I don't think a league 1 club with -10 points would be his kind of thing. Obviously this whole thing is between Keegan and Dowie. IMO.
-
I have a bet with my brentford supporting housemate that we will be ahead of them after 6 games.
-
Nope. It's their job to sell newspapers. Which they dead with there headline.
-
Agree totally with the person who said appointing Keegan would smack of an Ashley like judgement. It would need serious financial backing if we did appoint Keegan. I would prefer alot of other people, but if we did have Keegan, the next season (and how many he stays for) would be a laugh. We'd have some ups and downs but it would be quite enjoyable going to games knowing were either going to stuff a team or get stuffed ourselves. Can't see it happening though because it doesn't match with Pinnacles claim of a 5 year plan. Appointing Keegan will never be an appointment for a long term mission. More of a few years of massive risks and ups and downs which could end up with us somewhere near the premiership again. It could also end up with us completely ****ed after 6 months.
-
The players don't know whether Wotte is staying or not. Waiting untill the weekend to find out. I expect the same goes for Wotte personally as I'm pretty sure if Wotte knew he would have told the players by now but everyone is just waiting for the weekend.

Ronaldo is in the public eye. There are many interviews/quotes from Ronaldo's mouth that suggest his attitude stinks. Show me one where BWP shows an attitude that stinks...
-
This can be happening because BWP has no contract at Saints after July the 1st, therefore can talk to who he wants and doesn't have to tell anyone to do with the new owners nor manager. Are you dumb? Also the bloke who claims his attitude stinks, you ever met him? Or are you just basing that on rumours, the fact that his game is not about chasing down everything, because you don't like him and because he's a bit hit and miss?
-
His job was to come in and keep us up. He did that. Fair play. I'm grateful. Well done etc however he did it because ultimately results went his way on the last day. He still did it, I'm not denying that, i'm not saying we shouldn't be grateful but we should be realistic. Yes he kept us up, but IMO, he didn't do anything to prove that he would have been a decent option this season. He didn't do this with the football we played. He didn't do this with the signings he made (Other than Richard Wright). The place we/Lowe went wrong was thinking Wotte/JP were decent options, however if put in that place myself, I would not have gone with Pearson because I felt despite keeping us up, there was nothing to suggest that he would have been any good. Who knows. Maybe he would have. We'll never know. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but at the time for me, Pearson peformance was only just on par. As for this... 1) Regarding Burley - Much tougher league than league 1. We along with a few other teams were fighting for playoff places and above. Leicester were clear favourites and quite rightly so. Just as we would be now in league 1 if we didn't have the minus 10 and I have no doubt about it, if we had gone into League 1 level with everyone else, everyone on this forum would be expecting to walk this division. 2) Chelsea sacked there manager after failing. City despite spending shed loads, yes have had a bit of a stinker this season but its a much tougher league and different situation than Leicester in League 1. 3) Yes he can take some credit but really not alot for this season. The Leicester squad is a squad which only just got relegated from the Championship the season before and has hardly any departures and had some good backing when needed by a stupidly rich chairman for that division. When he has had this season in the Championship with Leicester, where alot of teams will be on par with him, he can be judged. 4) I dont care how many hours he had to prepare his team before his first game (Which by the way, we got stuffed in so most people are disregarding that as one of his matches, so really he had a week or whatever it was before the next game), the facts are he bought in the likes of Pericard and had us playing some hideous football. Yes stats show we were 13th in the form table or whatever it was, yes we were difficult to beat and yes we stayed up, however we were truely shocking to watch and if he's working towards staying on the season after football like that does not appeal to me and none of it showed any work in progress. It smacked of putting experienced players out there, defending for our lives and hoofing it towards John who we banked on scoring the odd quality strike. How anyone thinks he would have coped with the financial situation that had to be placed onto our squad this season is beyond me. The youngsters did not suit the grit and dogged peformances that Pearson had shown he was trying to install, those youngsters were no doubt going to be introduced by whoever was manager because thats what our financial situation insisted on, those youngsters had been bought upto play there passing flair football that the likes of Prost had drummed into them, they were not going to flourish with Pearsons long ball tactics that he had put in place with better players. Problem is, they didn't flourish with JP and Wotte either.
-
Am I the only one agreeing with 19 here? He's talking facts and sense. Yes Pearson kept us up. For that I am grateful. However, the football we played under his games in charge was truely horrific. Not only that, but he only put us into a posistion whereby other results actually kept us up. Not exactly a great record. However he did keep us up. Then look at Leicester. If he had done anything but walk League 1 with the resources he had at his disposal he would have been sacked. He's done nothing beyond average in his managerial career. He had a stinker here, saved only by other results, I'm delighted he never got appointed as full time manager, the desicion to appoint the dutch duo was the wrong desicion not, not appointing Pearson. He's gone onto to do the minimum expectation at Leicester. Fair play to him, its a challenge for him next year, then people can start to judge him. I hope he fails because I think he's a boring bloke and I don't like Leicester. To compare him with Wotte/JP is a bit harsh on the dutch duo aswell. Look at the team Pearson had to keep us up. A more than capable bunch of players, who, if Dodd and Gorman had left them well alone, could well have been safe alot earlier. Whearas baring two or three experienced individuals who were either ****e and or didn't want to be anywhere near here (Apart from JPS, Perry and Davis), Wotte and JP had a bunch of potentially decent kids but who were just a little out of there depth at this stage in there careers.

£1m for DMG - Why do people think it's such a bad deal?
Hopkins replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Whether he stays or not, I have no doubts in my mind that in a few years time he will be a class championship/lower prem player. Looking beyond his goals last year (whether you think it was enough or not) his all round play was good. His link up play, ability to drop off and play off another striker and create chances for himself and others was actually very good. With some good coaching, a bit more experience and a bit more composure at times he'll be a good player. However alot of fans on this forum have very blinkered views and like alot of football fans in general once they see someone not running around like a headless chicken and with a slightly laid back stance they automatically assume they don't give a ****, have attitude problems, think they are the tits and are all around gash. This despite the fact that when playing in the hole towards the end of last season he worked his nuts off. Some would say he should have done this while playing as a striker but you strikers on there own upfront don't need to be chasing everything down, they need to be hanging around upfront and finding gaps and creating chances. Something he did more than anyone in the whole league last year. His problem was his finishing, but like I said with some coaching and composure he'll be a cracking little player. -
I've just found out who it is. Never heard of the bloke.
-
You are deluded. Yes Ince has managed at this level before but I can guarentee you if he wanted to get back into football management there would be a lot better and bigger projects than ours willing to have him. For example any championship team. As for Coppell, the bloke would be in the highest of demands in the country, low premier league clubs and any championship team would have him. No big name with the options to manage at a higher level is really going to manage us right now, unless they have previous ties with us. Yes we could be exciting in the next few years but I'm pretty sure we would need to prove how exciting we could be first before we start being appealing to managers with reputations like Ince and Coppell. We're in league one. We've just survived administration. We have minus 10 points. Yes things are looking quite rosy for the future but we have to get real a bit. The best we could hope for imo is someone like Bothroyd. That said, Mark Wotte still has a job and I would be a little suprised if that changed.
-
Would love to know what planet you are on. You and the guy who said they would prefer WGS or Ince. You really honestly think that Ferguson, Coppell and Ince would want to manage a league 1 club? You retard.
