I'm pretty sure loans do not count in the 3 club rule.

Problem with resting Lambert here is the Brentford keeper is probably the best in the league and since he's been playing for them they have improved massively at the back. They are hard to beat and I think were going to need Lambert at least on the bench incase we can't break them down. I fully expect us to win but it won't be easy. This is massive in my household. I'll be going and one of my housemates will be in the Brentford end.

Perry and Wotton along with Jaidi were essential to our spine and making us win today imo. Perry was rarely beaten in the air infact and is such a clever defender. A neutruel who came along with me today said him and Wotton were along with Jaidi the best players on the pitch. Good in the air when crosses came into the box and when players had the ball in the centre of the park Wotton was chasing them down and forcing the ball wide. Very rarely did they open us up, maybe once or twice in the first half when our midfielders got over excited and started running round like headless chickens but alot of the game we were just solid and mainly down to Wotton, Perry and Jaidi. Imo. Also Lallana worked his nuts off again and when bought into the centre his quick feet was essential to our counter attacking plans. We played 451 for more than half the match. HTH. Such a love hate player. Technically he is shocking but his physical attributes and attitude make him such a threat. Especially when bought on. Love him sometimes hate him others but i'm so glad we have him.

Will you seriously **** off? Please. You don't go to games. So stop believing you actually have an opinion that other people wan't to hear. You don't. Anyone slating Lancashire today (Especially people who didn't go to the game) should just hush. He's probably rarely played in a defensive midfield role before and clearly isn't the most experienced player in the world like Wotton but he did a job in the last 5 minutes of a game that was always going to be all Ipswich. He was on for 5 mins. Ipswich were always going to be all over us in that 5 mins whether we had Wotton, Lancashire or Essien in that role and he did a good as job as anyone of them in that 5 minutes. Maybe he doesn't have the brightest of futures here but slating him really is a joke.
-
If Ipswich do us today and he gives us some more gestures and abuse at the end of the game either on the pitch or in any interviews can we please remember threads like this and not go over the top about how insulting and disgraceful his actions are despite the fact that people are likely to "give the **** ****" today.

Team will quite clearly be... Davis Thomas Perry Jaidi Harding/Mills Antonio Wotton James Holmes Lambert Lallana
-
He clearly doesn't say that at all tbf. All he says is the valuations don't meet. You'd have to be very naive and have a lack of knowledge about how football works nowadays to think that valuations and availabilities of players are not discussed left right and centre between football clubs/agents/players all over the country before an actual bid is even thought about.
-
Can only see it being this team imo. Davis James Perry Fonte Harding Antonio Morgan Wotton Holmes Lallana Lambert
-
Not true. It is widely known that we didn't sign Drogba on Strachan's orders because he felt we didn't need another James Beattie.
-
Probably because you can't judge someones height on there peformance as a centre back. You base it on a fact like how tall he is.
-
Joey Barton is a better man than McSheffrey. Fact.

Lets get something very clear...They do not want Rickie Lambert. As good as he is for us, as much as I love him for his goals this season, he would not get anywhere near Newcastle's first team. He's not good enough to play in the Prem, which is something that they must be looking for. They are after Beckford (Imo not good enough either) but he's the one that would be worth taking a gamble on between Beckford and Lambert. He's the more mobile, quicker player.

Is it Fonte or Forte? Jackanory seems to think its Forte, everyone else Fonte.

At around 4pm today I saw him enjoying a cofee with Waigo and Morgan. Nothing wrong with his eye sight then.

Glasgow Saint. I'm assuming you don't get too many games seeing as you live in Glasgow. Infact looking at previous posts you don't so let me point something out to you that you have yet to realise.... Your opinion is not valid in anyway and therefore you are on a level par as a poster with Alpine. Not only is your opinion worthless and based mainly on radio reports but its retarded. Jacob Mellis is one of the most highly rated kids at Chelsea by there fans and by there management, I'd rather base my own opinion and views on a player by the games that I watch (Every home game) and witness him playing in than your retarded opinions based on other peoples match reports. Not that I want to have any kind of football discussion with somebody who doesn't understand nor witness the football matches in question but just before Mellis went to play (and score in every game fwiw) for England U19's but he had started a couple of games before and along with Morgan and Hammond he had been looking awesome. The 3 of them complimented each other well and the touch and movement was very good between the 3 of them. By the time he had come back from England duty we'd moved to play 442 and he found it hard to get into a team ahead of Morgan and Hammond, both of whom were playing superb and couldn't be dropped. His loan may not have worked out the way people may have hoped/expected but its not down to his lack of ability more of the unfrotunate facts that Morgan and Hammond are playing well and keeping fit. So do please stfu.

Saw him in West Quay today if that helps with anything at all.

I have no doubt about us being a bigger club than Pompey. I also have no problem in hating Pompey. However to seriously believe that the attendances of the clubs like Pompey/Boro/Wigan etc should be much better is nothing but boring. Especially as our fans are not exactly as awesome as we like to make out. A fact of life is that clubs doing well will bring in the crowds. Whatever division they are in. We are doing well and the feel good factor is even more evident for us because we've been so ****e in the past that the first sign of success again and everyone comes flooding back. Personally I find it actually quite embarrasing that now were doing quite well that we can bring in some crowds. Anybody who boycotted us in the last few seasons because they thought we were **** or because of Rupert Lowe should seriously be ashamed of themselves now they are crawling back into the stadium and even more ashamed if they are one of the people in the hundreds of threads on the site slating Pompey and other clubs for there shocking attendances. If you want to support the club go to the game whenever we play. Not when we are doing well. And if you decide not too (Which yes is up to you) then realise you have no right to slate any other clubs attendance when ours is on the up. Threads like this are ill informed and boring. Seriously, you should realise the simple fact in life that if a club is doing ****e, its not going to bring in the crowds. Clubs mentioned in the opening post are doing guff and therefore are not bringing in crowds. When we were drawing in shocking crowds last season, did people start threads like this slating our selves or did we all convince ourselves we were doing the right thing by not turning up? We were in the same shoes once. Get over it.
-
Wasn't our attendance alot worse than Pompeys at times last year? Shock horror. Fans in not turning up when team is dog ****e horror. Get over ourselves.
-
Its pretty basic stuff not to turn up 20 minutes before kick off without a ticket.

Because he's not and never has been a goal scoring attacking midfielder. He's a composed, ball playing, creative midfielder. He likes to sit and pass the ball with the occasional burst forward but he leaves the box to box stuff to Hammond. He's the best passer of a football i've seen in this league. I don't think you can expect much more from him. He maybe goes missing in games occasionally but he's improved his phsyical side and yes i'm sure he'd love to score a few goals but thats not what he's in the team for. He makes us pass the ball, long and short, and gives us a composure and touch that no other midfielder gives his team in this league. He's in the team to run the midfield, he does that imo, not to be the all action box to box midfielder. Thats what Hammond does. I honestly don't understand how people do not rate him. He was clearly a class above anyone else on the pitch today. He broke up some of there play today and started our own on most occasions. He pinged the ball 50/60 yards a fair few times to our wingers and often starts moves by passing the ball into Lamberts feet.
-
A class above anyone else on the pitch today again. That despite the fact he was berating the ref for 90 minutes.
-
Let me confirm, is this based on other peoples opinions, views, and reports on watching him play or your own?
-
We'd still batter them tbf. That team is better than the team Luton will put out. Are you telling me that Luton would not snap our hands off to be able to sign those 11 players and play them every week?
-
The level of stupidness on this board and most notably this thread goes up every day. It is highly amusing. Reo Coker still cracks me up as does Surman. However Tommy Smith being talked about like he wouldn't get into our team is another classic. He'd probably destroy League 1 on his own. He's better than Rickie Lambert who every seems to think is a god of some sort.
