I clapped as he came round, I see no benefit to booing individual players, and it was a consolatory clap nothing more. He knew he made a massive mistake and tbh looked gutted by it. In terms of his play, Jones has clearly told the players whoever was the middle of the back 3 to play long balls to the wings and it just doesn't suit this team. Personally I wouldn't have him in the starting 11 unless others are unavailable but he is, so I'll support him.
We're in a relegation dogfight. If you're a player and getting booed by your own fans, would you dig in and try harder or think you're paid whatever the result, probably get another club if necessary, screw the fans and club? Interesting to see that Salisu couldn't get down the tunnel quick enough at the end of the game.
Some fans tonight booed when we played it round the back waiting for an opening, others booed when we played it long. The current atmosphere is toxic, so no wonder the players' heads drop when we go a goal down. Unfortunately the appointment of Jones was not the right one and without the fans behind the team I feel there's absolutely no chance of us staying up. Unless Jones can turn it round fast, I think he'll have to go.
