In the meantime I found the slightly twitchy nature of City under pressure towards the end of the game quite amusing. Years since I've been to Manchester so can't help on pubs but I do recall the decent prices and Joseph Holt's pubs delivering in larger barrels due to their turnover. In Southampton drinking in a 'spoons will save you £3 a pint, which is not to be sneezed at, but in Manchester I wouldn't bother unless a quick one on the way somewhere else.

I have found you can get to see some football, but only after some 'really, well my word!?' moments.. I think Saturday comments are going to be less surprise, more cries of misery..

Just saw the reference to the Spurs game: bloomin 'eck, it's true! At least I should be able to make my afternoon game which is actually against a Southampton area team, but that is giving no thought to the fans. I've chatted in the pub to people who go to the games by bus, and they were complaining about Sunday during the day, so at that time they've no chance.
