Calling Overseas Fans..
suewhistle replied to suewhistle's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Oi, 'twas me that spotted it! Mind you, I did chuckle at John B's comment. Anyway, I reckon my local mountains are higher than Alpine's. -
Well, the roe are dried and eaten in Sardinia: Bottarga is a great delicacy. I'd definitely clean one thoroughly though!

From the OS: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2036756,00.html Anyway, I did mine this current season, so over to you guys...
-
Thanks! I'll bear it in mind: I've friends near Halifax, Harrogate, and Huddersfield, as it happens so there's a good chance I'll be that way in August ..("From Hull and Halifax and Hell, good Lord deliver me"). If I do I shall be back for pub recommendations...
-
Anybody know when they come out? I try and see a few games on my summer trip to the UK and fit in visits to friends at the same time so a bit of advance planning is necessary. I'm much more optimistic about next season and even hope to see an away win after this season's depressing game at Huddersfield, only alleviated by some very nice pints of Timmy Taylor's.
-
I think immediately after the FA cup will be even more interesting!
-
Me too! A hack down the autostrada or more likely getting the cheapo trains here. A visit to the Uffizi Gallery, a quick apperitivo (or two), and then off to see the Saints. Dream on! Even better, I play for a women's football team with the same colours as Fiorentina. Time for bed as I'm on the bench for tomorrow...
-
Cherries 2 nil up, so at least a local derby next season.
-
How's McNish playing?
-
Is that one of Comical Andy's prices or did he get advice? To replace Wooton on a free and lower wages than he's getting at Pompey would be about the only way to do it.
-
Dunno, how often does your ILS fail?!
-
Yeah, I was over from Italy and went to the Hudddersfield away game!
-
Well, I didn't think we'd make the play-offs but I'll leave it to others (another?) to say "I told you so". But it's been a fun season and far better, I think, than most of us expected.
-
I thought that was the whole point.. I'm going....
-
Mature Cheddar? You bastard, I can't get that here and now I want some. Go with the cheddar, it'll be fine. Actually plenty of good cheeses here but occasionally a bit of Keen's or other decent cheddar with depth and bite is just what you want. The team don't appear to have bite today, and at least we have just enough depth to leave Wooton on the bench. Sod it, I'm going back to my flute.

"Speak roughly to your little boy, and beat him when he sneezes: he only does it to annoy, because he knows it teases."
-
so we'd gathered..
-
Ooh, you evil person you! I shall now go off and practise my flute.. it sometimes works. Laters.

Ah yes, the deported from Rimini. Many completely randomly and pulled away from their family beach holidays to fill up an already booked aircraft: the number of seats amazingly equalling the number of arrested. I will always consider Colin Moynihan a complete sh^t.
-
Miaow! But true though! I see you are keeping Guardian readers well-informed.:-)
-
I was there! At least in Sardinia and then the match against Belgium in Bologna. My leave then ran out (money not far behind) which was a shame. All the better for being able to speak Italian so had no problems, even when my ticket didn't turn up for the Ireland game. Went out and bought a ticket in the street and ended up in the Irish end, which of course was no problem, although the carabinieri were a bit surprised.
-
It was there yesterday...
-
Last time I posted somebody posted at the same time, but here we go: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/apr/21/portsmouth-finances-richard-scudamore He isn't saying anything we on here don't all think anyway, but it's nice for someone in authority to come out and saying it openly.
-
Apologies if this has been mentioned (couldn't see it), but on the front page of The Guardian online edition: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/apr/21/portsmouth-119m-debt-football

Sod, and we were all talking about who else would drop points...
