I think you are right, but Saints are still hard work though. Let's hope this game is a wake up call, but that the attitude at the end of the game can carry forward.

That made me laugh! I have to admit I forego concourse catering, but more than make up for it in various local hostelries before or after the game, and sometimes both... was it against Brentford when I had my first pint at The Platform at 11.15?.... But oh, a decent pint would be so nice.... Hopback GFB is a tasty quaffer. I've been footie training 3 times a week recently so the results of my visit to the UK is gradually being burnt off!

This whole thread has really made me smile. anyway, if you fancy a pint pre/post match you could do worse than The Junction at St Denys: garden and childrens' room [known by locals as The Myra Hindley room] although a bit of a walk along St. Denys 'beach'.. *Halo* - don't forget to knock on the kids' bedroom door next chance you get and say "knock knock"... your sister may not appreciate it though!

Um, I don't think there'll be a queue.... In fact although I have sometimes been annoyed with the hyperbole of some posters I'm beginning to feel sorry for some of them, they are just so over the topwith their comments. That, or they make me laugh out loud!

Thanks dubai, and thanks for your previous explanation for your reticence.... it all adds up. It's great, I get to feel sympathy for Pompey and their long-suffering supporters (and all supporters are in it together in that respect), but then I also get to s****** and stiffle a giggle at their expense.

I wasn't there, so have no specific observations on the game (cough, cough) but that seems like a very likely situation. I know that when I made my debut of the bench for my women's side here in Italy my heart was going like mad and I rushed around madly. Too old and experienced and slow to be caught offside, though.:-) If we can just harness that speed and enthusiasm it sounds like he'll be useful. Thank goodness winter pitches don't get heavy and claggy like they used to.
