  1. I see the proposed takeover of Everton by 777Partners has fallen through. They had a period of exclusivity until yesterday..
  2. Edozie also looks interested, unlike Mara.
  3. Nah, I really won't waste my time doing that. Just that there are a few sexist and right wing prats on here and I feel perfectly entitled to get irritated.
  4. Hmm, the streams have been useful but not having a need for viagra or those sort of naked women 😉 I find it difficult to give him my vote. There's quite a few I'd like to give negative votes to, but I shall try and be more Davefizzy like!
  5. There's a 'latest transfers' thread in the Guardian and good to see THB as an entry, but it's also interesting the released players who are now free agents. I've no idea of the standard of some of them - I noticed Anthony Martial of Manchester United and Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco - so maybe worth keeping an eye on? As long as we're not paying. At least we haven't got Les Reed around now to insist on paying Monaco £19m for him..
  6. Yes, I used it both ways. It probably helped as I was using a crutch and got ushered to it by a sharp eyed steward. The same crutch that got pinched by some lairy Leeds fans on the trip back to the station. Most of them were fine but it doesn't take many who can't hold their drink to spoil things.
  7. You've been taking lesson from Rallyboy..
  8. It's always quite amusing looking back on some of these threads: some posters do like making themselves hostage to fortune.. My Portsmouth area football team mates were quite busy on our chat with the banter before the game but surprisingly quiet now!
  9. On the train home from Victoria.Mostly happy fans on here. Had to wait long enough for a pint and had a few before so time to put my aching foot up and snooze. Bastard Leeds fans pinched my crutch when I put it down for a second. Upset I suppose at us beating them three times in a season..
  10. Thanks to @Ant, The Lyric has a very nice pint!
  11. I've got an allotment too! Hope the postie has been good to anxious fans this morning..
  12. Captain Mordaunt who was very relaxed about Portsmouth's bankruptcies, owing £130 million and £32m to HMRC?
  13. Good old Grauniad newspaper, just given me a fright after I'd just bought my rail ticket (£21 - not bad)...
  14. I think that's unfair. I'm sure some of them have their own flat. But did you have anyone specific in mind?
  15. Trying to get a ticket outside the ground is just another football bet: you've just got to hold your nerve. I was in Cagliari at Italia 90 and my promised ticket didn't turn up so wandered up to the ground on match day and bought one off a local. The fact it was with the Irish didn't worry me, although the Carabinieri looked at me askance..
  16. Or Saints win: "You're going out with the Rishi, you're going out with the Rishi"
  17. Yes, I was going to comment on the 12 o'clock opening having done a little more research. Being a cheapskate and retired I'm not adverse to the odd 'Spoons pint. I'm sure we won't be the only Saints fans going via Victoria! I think my train gets in at around 11.30 and is one of the quicker ones, some seem to be 20 minutes slower. I need to sort out some red and white ribbon for my crutch!
  18. That's my rough plan too, although I'll be arriving at Victoria so no early one in The Hole in the Wall, if it's still there.. Any pub recommendations? Not too far from a station or bus-stop as still using a crutch. I may not take gio1saints' advice and have more than one..
  19. Well, he's certainly in one of the photos. He may be short but looks very solid.
  20. Well, I won't have to start that bipartisan chant of "Election Now!"
  21. I live further to the East so will be getting the Victoria train, so I hope that runs ok and has seats. I'll break my journey somewhere to have a drink or two, don't know where yet but maybe a Sam Smith's or 'Spoons to avoid the London prices. Wembley allow crutches so that's a positive. Can walk without it, but it's a long day with a fair bit of walking inevitable.
  22. Actually that's a good point and a reasonable possibility. Very much helps the people on the ground.
  23. Vicious game lax as is school hockey! You also have a curious idea about the nature ofVictorian sport.., played by the rules perhaps, but permissive ones! 🙂
  24. "Yes dear, of course I'll come on the boat trip.."
  25. Saturday, but we only get post on a Monday here from the previous mid-week!
