  1. I fully agree with the first sentence; if it's 0-0 at half-time we will hit the panic button and start hoofing it (if we're not already)...
  2. Great goal, but as mentioned above the keeper had a mare; he had about 7 seconds between the ball being hit and it hitting the back of the net to get in position.......!!
  3. You don't think Papa's good enough to play a higher level than League 1? He'd easily do well in the Championship or equivalent level IMO.
  4. They become unemployed I guess?! Any tiny amount of public support the employees may have once had will surely disappear now. I'm flying out for my 10 days in Majorca with the wife and kids on 1st June; not with BA of course but it better not have an effect on our plans!!
  5. Nothing.
  6. LOL at the ***ts skidding around on the pitch, especially one of the first ones who also lost his shoe.
  7. Remember it was the radio commentary and not TV.
  8. How many have you met?
  9. He always said that Baddiel and Skinner made his life hell for making up that song....
  10. If he's good enough to play for a Premiership club (albeit a crap one) he's certainly good enough to play for us in League 1.
  11. I have great memories of Italia '90, except for the worst I've ever felt at the end of a football match when we lost the shoot-out to the Germans. I was 16 at the time and got dragged to Tenerife with my parents for my last "family" holiday with them. Flew out the day after we beat Egypt, and watched the Belgium, Cameroon and Germany games in a bar surrounded by bitter ex-pats who were cheering on whoever we were playing. My dad and me have never been so close, bearing in mind that he barely got more than a grunt out of me in my teenage years;lots of high fives and manly hugs celebrating England goals!! I also remember with fondness my sky blue Umbro third England shirt as sported by Barney in the New Order 'World in Motion' video; best England song ever by a long way.
  12. Yeovil manager "FFS Pards, not the shoes/trousers/training top ensemble again". or Yeovil coaching staff "Have you seen the size of our caravan?!"""
  13. I remember me and a mate completed Pannini '84 and some little sh!t tore out our Liverpool badge. That and the Saints badge were like gold dust at the time, happy days...
  14. They do a great piri piri chicken too.
  15. At the ground somewhere I'd guess.
  16. That'll just be you then.
  17. I thought he was taking the p!ss so didn't reply....
  18. I feel slightly comforted that you must at least be older than me as I don't remember not ever seeing replays! Further to the previous comment about Liverpool not winning the title since back-passes weren't allowed, Gary Ablett was certainly never the same player after 85% of his game was cruely taken away from him...
  19. Jeez I'm getting old if there are fans who can't remember when back-passes were allowed...
  20. What a brilliant header from Lambert to set up the chance, and through the keeper's legs to boot. And the Norwich fans choking on their Que Sera Seras; love it.
  21. I was in both the megastore and the West Quay store on Monday; was surprised it wasn't out already.
  22. I was in the same carriage; it was a Mastercard moment. And the guy saw the funny side of it too.
  23. Agreed.
  24. The only booing I heard at any time prior to the game was when Mawhinney was announced as he walked out; must have depended where you were seated I guess, or I need to get my ears syringed....
  25. I'm not saying that it's impossible that some Saints fans may have booed Cortese, as I can't speak for anyone other than myself and those in my immediate vicinity, but I am saying that many of the audible boos on the telly are likely to have been aimed at Mawhinney rather than him.
