  1. Brilliant; very funny and yet informative and entirely accurate at the same time.
  2. On reading this I was just able to not spray my computer screen with coffee.
  3. I couldn't agree more; totally ignorant of what depressive illness actually is.
  4. An excellent night, and I'm very glad I went. However, did my ears deceive me or did Lawrie make a Jimmy Savile joke; regarding the two things that never should have left Southampton, being Lawrie and the Titanic?!
  5. I can take the hit on a tenner to be fair, and if it helps me to sleep more comfortably in my bed for the next few weeks it will be money well spent/lost!
  6. This sums up perfectly how I feel; I shall therefore be making a trip to Ladbrokes on the way home tonight to part with a tenner. £800 would soften the blow of relegation slightly, although I'd much rather never see my tenner again of course!
  7. I read in one of last week's sports supplements that we've had 3 players booked for taking their shirt off in celebration this season, the most in the Prem. Fonte, Clyne and I can't remember the other off the top of my head. I guess when you're bottom of the league you might be inclined to celebrate your goals slightly more than you usually would...
  8. Morning all, I've just got rid of my 12 year old Focus for a 5 year old one. I've got an issue with the alarm regularly going off when I use the key to open the door. We've only got one remote, which my wife uses, and there's no problem with that; however when I unlock the door with my key and open it, the alarm goes off more often than not. You've probably gathered I'm not a "car man", so does anyone have any ideas what it could be before I call the garage and potentially look like a knob?! I never had this issue with my old Focus. Also, any ideas what could be causing what sounds like a "humming" noise in the cabin? Not sure if this is my dodgy hearing, something wrong or just the fact that the cabin noise may be louder in the newer model?! Thanks.
  9. The 'high' of winning the play-offs would be massive but so would the 'low' of losing it, not to mention the two weeks of hell leading up to the final. I don't think this site could have handled it, what with the disproportionality high number of fannies we appear to have. So no, give me automatic promotion any day of the week.
  10. Nail. On. Head. Can/Will there ever have been a side that was in the automatic promotion places for 45 games of a 46 game season only to fail in the final game? As for being in the Prem, I'd miss being able to take my 9 year-old for free, and paying anything less than £30 to sit in the Chapel. And I'm not looking forward to the prospect of losing more games than we win again.
  11. I have many thoughts about tonight's match; that we choked is not one of them.
  12. I had to read this twice to realise it wasn't a poem, or at least I don't think it is?!
  13. Got her a neclace (not a pearl one); but she chose that herself! Was actually thinking perfume was the way forward; will maybe get her something different, not sure what all the kids are wearing these days?! Also booked to go for a meal on Friday at Turtle Bay, which I've heard good things about, so at least I'm trying!
  14. Morning all, It's my wife's birthday next Saturday, and as usual I've left it late to think about her present(s). I've got her one already, but am struggling for further inspiration! Anyone got any decent ideas; looking at approx the £50 mark? She's mid-thirties if that helps!
  15. I remember the away leg at Chelsea in the area final. We were 2-0 up from the first leg when Jason Cundy conceded a pen in the opening minutes at Stamford Bridge. Straight red for Cundy and Matt converted the pen; 3-0 up against 10 men, and even Saints couldn't throw that away!! Stamford Bridge was a sh!t-hole in those days and I remember the chants of "you're gonna get your effing heads kicked in" from the Chelsea fans in the second half; the one and only time I've ever been at a match and thought it seriously might happen. Happy days!!
  16. How can you have such a short memory; maybe you want to remind yourself of last season's run-in? It must be exhausting to be so negative so often; I actually feel sorry for you if you've got nothing better to concern yourself with. Oh, and we weren't in the play-offs in 2003.
  17. I've just had to get out of bed as I couldn't sleep after that! My first reaction was we were robbed; three efforts on target, three goals; but the fact is our defending simply wasn't good enough. If we think tonight was a harsh lesson you just wait until we're in the Prem next season... Fox was culpable twice for their first; initially with the Hollywood pass to no-one and then his ****-poor "effort" to block Kebe's cross. Fonte had his pants pulled down by a Premiership has-been. Despite the stats it wasn't so much smash and grab but rather a good attacking team biding their time and picking us off. That said Lallana missed an absolute sitter after we equalised; all he had to do was hit the target and he'd have scored. After that we didn't even really huff and puff; Reading saw it out with ease. Of course West Ham will win tomorrow; if we defend like that again on Tuesday we'll lose again and could well find ourselves in third by the time we face Boroassuming West Ham's match kicks off before ours. Not felt this peed off for a long time, but I'd still rather be in our position than West Ham's!!
  18. Whenever I see Reading's highlights on the telly all their fans seem to be old women and kids?!
  19. I'm trying to counteract my nerves by telling myself that it wouldn't be so great to be in the Prem anyway; it's been good going into most games for the past three seasons being hopeful of a win, which wouldn't be the case if we went up!!
  20. I was in the Chapel; I saw him say something to Davis in the goalmouth and then Davis barge him, but no hand gesture. Does seem a bit of an arrogant tvvat!
  21. I assume you mean players' heads will roll rather than Adkins'? Even IF we don't go up, I can't envisage any scenario whereby he'd get sacked.
  22. Can anyone tell me what the "other" number is for the ticket office, ie not the 0800 one? I seem to remember it's a number that starts "01"? I'm going to queue up at the stadium tomorrow, but if it's hectic I intend to try booking tickets by phone whilst in the queue!
  23. Whoops; bit too late as tickets have already been purchased! I did hear that Eastpoint is one massive white elephant, but haven't been there since the new development. Would seem a shame to leave Matty and his chums up there on their own though.......
  24. Anyone else attending the above event tonight? Should be a good night; Le Tiss, Franny, Paul Jones and Jimmy Case will be there amongst others. Anyone got any decent questions they'd like asking?
