Pardew the Seducer - Jose Fonte: Why I had to leave Crystal Palace
Jesus Reigned replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Also interesting to note that Fonte is currently leading the "Who has been Palace's best player this season" vote. -
But he's Portuguese?!
-
I agree; I don't think it will go through til the 12th.
-
Nope, I'd have had to have taken one for the team (ie my b@llocks) and missed the game...
-
Happy with this news as I'd told my wife I wouldn't go as it's our daughter's birthday on Saturday. This way I should get to go to the re-arranged game, plus brownie points still intact with the missus.

To you, to me......!!

Great to see the pens again; not sure who Barryovski is though?

How many late goals have we scored this season
Jesus Reigned replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
The penalty Stockport scored up there was virtually the last kick of the game too. -
Can you go 2 hours without food or drink?
Jesus Reigned replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I was sat in the Kingsland Centre last night and just before half-time a girl in her early twenties was returning to her seat holding a pint of beer and a bottle of Magners, without making any effort to hide them. That is still illegal right? Not that it bothers me, just wondering why none of the stewards stopped her if it's against the law to take alcohol into the stands... -
You're right, it was inside the area. And Schumacher insighting the French fans afterwards; God knows how long he'd be banned for these days.
-
The only part of your comment I would disagree with in the slightest is that I think the foul actually happened outside the area? Although I would guess that Schumacher was inside the area when he took off!!!! He could have killed Battiston; gave him a fractured collarbone and two fractured vertebrae I think...
-
I'm sorry; did my comment deserve that insult?! I don't think for one minute that he should discard his Frenchness just because he earns a lving over here, just that maybe he should be slightly more tactful and diplomatic perhaps. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your future posts so I can return the compliment.

Fair enough then if them's the rules. Think the MK Dons game a few years ago might have been 2nd round?
-
What a despicible man he was, and probably still is. Shows how the game has moved on; he didn't get sent off for that, in fact I'm not even sure a free-kick was given?
-
They've reduced ticket prices for the FA Cup before; I remember MK Dons a few years ago being reduced when we won 4-3. Think the prices might have been £15 then aswell? I actually think £15 is a bit steep to watch us against either a League 2 or a Conference Premier side; £10-12 would have been closer to the mark IMO.
-
Not a particularly clever statement to say that you hope your home country "takes out" the country where you play your football and your wages are paid. Not likely to endear him to anyone anyway.
-
Just actually bothered checking and seen they haven't qualified; they must have gone majorly downhill since beating France and making the quarter finals at World Cup 2002..
-
Isn't the African Cup of Nations coming up soon though; surely Senegal are taking part?

Thanks for everyone's comments. I ended up sticking with my booking at what I thought was Dragon Palace, to find it's changed ownership and is now called Golden Palace. It's the one above Nationwide in the High Street. We weren't disappointed; £15.90 for the buffet and the food was excellent, better than Dragon Palace used to be. Plus I think they must have missed a round of drinks from the bill, as 4 of us had 3 drinks each and the total bill came to £82 before tip!! Would highly recommend it.

The insurance company I work for base their valuations on Glass's Guide retail, which in the current climate will probably be more than the actual market value. If you've got finance, this gets paid off first and you get anything left over. If the car's only a year and a half old you should get what it's worth I'd say.

Thanks for the advice so far; I might give Little Budha a call to see if they've got a spare table. I agree that Panda in Bedford Place is very good; been there for lunch loads of times but not sure if they do an evening all-you-can-eat thing? Not that we're greedy buggers of course; it's just nice to try a few different dishes rather than sticking to one or two things from the menu!

Friday's out as I'm out for an Indian; on a bit of a healthy eating drive at the moment as you can tell...
-
I'm planning to go for a chinese with the missus and some friends on Saturday night. Anyone recommend anywhere in the city centre that does a decent buffet/all you can eat type thing? We've been to Dragon Palace a few times in the past but I've heard it's gone a bit downhill recently. Pilgrim House came to mind but it's fully booked. I thank you.

I pulled my hamstring a few years ago playing footy. For about 3 weeks in a row I'd rest it for a week, feel fine by the Saturday then it would go again within 5 minutes of the game starting. Need to give it at least 2 weeks rest I'd say.
