That team sheet ... 😐
-
Agree with this, good luck to him in the future.

Agree. They are still on a PIP with me. They need to keep every single good player, get Eckert tied down on a long contract and seriously back this current team. If we don't go up, they need to pull out everything to secure the same players and coaching team, who should be good enough to get promoted automatically next season.

Fk. 20 years ago? Ugh. That's all.

Decent fanbase is Wrexham. Not the fans fault the media love the Hollywood guys coming in like money saviours, although I do dislike Moore. I'm sure over the summer they'll ship out some of their deadwood, probably change manager and be up there again. Anyway, tonight ... lovely stuff. Every player knows their role, every player knows where the others will be, every player puts in a shift. It is a huge, stark contrast to last year or the team of only a few months ago pre-2026.. We are a team, a proper team, with very well defined roles and responsibilities. January signings seem perfect, Larin as a proper number 9 alternating with Stewart who whilst great, needs protecting. Peretz who not only a much better goalie, but seems like the life and soul of the club right now - a huge presence. Bree back as well, goes without saying. I like the speed we play at, keep it calm when we need to, in order to regain shape and / or breathe, but break hard, with purpose when we feel like a goal is on. Feels like there is no pointless possession, which is so refreshing. Great job Saints, great job.

Man City 2-1 Saints - Match Thread
Patrick Bateman replied to Football Special's topic in The Saints
Current match is dull, don't like either team much, shame they both can't lose -
Absolutely - I said this before but it shows the value of a decent goalkeeper a) balling them out for mistakes/good play and being vocal and b) the confidence they have knowing they have a goalie more likely to make a save behind them. Fkn paper hands offered neither of those things.

Epitome of team player, such a great guy.

Where is that interview?

Bloody hell that was brilliant. We play well against teams who "play football", letting them faff around with their slow passing, being as aware as possible on their set pieces (with no fouling) and hitting them on the break, lovely stuff, absolutely superb. Brilliant team performance with many stand out players - unfair to call out one player, fkn team of the match. Well done, that is what the FA Cup is about.

TBF looks like Bazunu is in goal for them ... awful
-
I think no. They are top of the Premier League, a team that's looking awesome, I think 9/1 (personally) is a bit stingy. But still worth a few quid.
-
That's what I said earlier in the thread - players like that are basically Haaland, and they are unusual now.
-
"Jersey" .. fk off.

My son is at Wembley tonight with his school football team, feel sorry for them, that is utter trash, bar Rashford. NEVER let Foden take another corner/free kick. Awful, playing too close, balls bouncing off the players rather than being controlled, misplaced passes, being out-muscled, not shouting, ugh, fkn ugh.
-
Charles looks a class above most of the rest of that team. 14 (Price) is a fkn horrific player.

Question about 50th anniversary shirts from DHGate
Patrick Bateman replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
I couldn't work out the sizing ... did you get it right first go?? I don't want to order anything and it be wrong. -
I love this guy already. Maybe this should be on the unpopular opinion thread, but I actually think he might do alright in the Premier League. I mean not every "number 9" can be like Haaland or similar and have strength AND speed AND technique - these are just weirdos who cost the earth. But to have the strength and experience in that role, he'd rattle a few defenders and bring others into play by holding the ball up. Might be wrong, but hope we can find out.

I endorse this.

Journey advice for getting to ground (first game for 5 year old)
Patrick Bateman replied to Ekimr's topic in The Saints
Train is good - there is a St Mary's bus right outside the station (Toys r Us side) on a match day, it's only a couple of quid return -
Makes you wonder if he wanted out and regretted the role for some reason, but wanted a pay off to get out ... surely the only explanation for the bizarre nature of the teams selections and "tactics".

Series 1 and 2 of the Peaky Blinders were okay, from then on they got more and more boring. I expect the film to be utter trash, not for me. Duckhunter is right, so much new TV is just trash with OTT characters.

Cup final predictably dull - watching athletics while doing my roast beef instead
