  1. Both Championship level loans - will be great next season ...
  2. Really?? Christ, snap them up Saints. Brighton's recruitment has been much better than a lot of other teams.
  3. No thanks, they'll end up buying even more squad fillers who just fall into Martin's painfully slow football regime. I'd rather we shifted half the squad and got ready for the championship.
  4. You're right - they have spent, or at least allowed SOMEONE to spend so criminally badly it's unreal. Our recruitment was always hit and miss, but mostly more hit, apart from a couple, it's been so bad. That sum of money is frightening, given what we could've done with it. I mean it doesn't even need to be a lot, who is that player at Villa for instance they got from Middlesbrough for not much? Morgan Rogers? Although he's probably getting better service than he would here ...
  5. Ramsdale man of the match for me today - which is great to say after thinking he's had a shaky start. Very well deserved clean sheet, great saves, commanding, no nonsense. Armstrong was terrible when out on the right, but I don't think he had much support and then was better with the changes made and a nicely taken goal, well done that man. Dibling was direct and brilliant when he came on but generally our best chances today came from being much quicker moving the ball forward - shock! A win is a win and enjoyable - but more of this moving the ball forwards quickly please.
  6. True I'd forgotten about him. He's looking nervy and certainly not the player he should be - but he's one I was delighted signed, maybe he'll settle? Hopefully
  7. Agreed on fitness - I said this a couple of times too, it's really noticeable in this league, they do not look a fit bunch of players compared to other teams and nothing like the fitness demanded by Strachan, Pochetino and Hassenhuttl as you say.
  8. The worrying thing about the club is who sanctioned these signings? Ugochukwu was utter crap. Slow, ponderous, can't turn, doesn't bust a gut. Bereton-Diaz was like some random fan was given a shirt to come on and watch play pass him by. Cornet was dreadful, he can run, but that's it - although I think I can potentially see someone good, maybe ... Fraser was off the boil again. Really glad he wanted to come and can't fault his effort, but he's not in the game right now. I'm not even bothering to mention the bizarre Woods and Edwards signings ... These were all signed for this season and to counter balance Archer has something about him, so does Fernandes, but neither shone tonight. Summer recruitment looking poor.
  9. 7pm sunday? That's a joke right?? Edit: No, I now realise it's not. All those fans on rail replacement buses or the 1 train per hour going through Portsmouth and Guildford to Waterloo ... fk sake.
  10. What a load of fking gash that statement is ... football is beyond ruined. Serene woodland and state of the art DJ booth?? Fk me, how about playing good football and winning? Knightwood? Bloody hell! What's wrong with the Lee Todd Lounge? (seriously, ANY player other than a fking tree!!) Expertly crafted cocktails. I want expert saves, expert tackles, expert fking goals and management. ARGH!
  11. My son tells me that the Bundesliga is the best league in the world. He's 10 and I think he might be right 😂
  12. I don't know who he is, but he's right. Someone else mentioned Koeman - that was the best era in the Premier League for us since Strachan's ridiculously fit and in shape squad running their bollocks off every week. Hassenhuttl reminded me of Dave Jones, not in style, but just I think the club could've carried on plodding on, not break ground but surviving. Anyway, Koeman - I long for those days of counter attacking but also the ability to mix up play with some decent passing. Saints do have some pacy players who can break ad do this. Get the squad fit (as I don't think they are as fit as they could be, certainly nothing like Strachan's team), press when it allows, let the opposition have the fkn ball for once, break or at least pass it fkn forwards at pace and allow the fast guys that are at the club to RUN. That would be novel. Oh and get Bella-Kotchap back into the squad. If he doesn't work out, fine, but there is potentially a huge defensive talent there doing nothing. I don't know, I'm not a football expert, it's not my job but that's what I'd like to see anyway. If we're going to go down, can we at least go down having watched something more extertaining and more likely see us scoring? That's all I ask.
  13. I can see it now; "I thought the boys were magnificent in keeping it down to 7, could have been a lot worse. Very happy with Harwood-Bellis in the 9 role as he's our top scorer, he was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet tonight though and I wanted Onuachu at full back to add some height, he was unlucky scoring 4 own goals. I feel happy we're learning"
  14. My son at 6/7 wasn't interested in football at all, just didn't like it - I took him to St Marys in the Championship quite a lot in the last 2 years, we did most of the home matches last year for example and he's loved it. He still likes the bigger players (Haaland, Grealish, Saka and so on) and that's fine, I haven't ever said "you can't support that team or enjoy watching that player" but I pretty much made it clear it's Saints first 😂 He walks around in either a Saints shirt or a Bayern Munich shirt. He loves Musiala, so I said it was fine to have a Bayern shirt too. But last night, after the second goal went in, he actually said to me "I'm going to bed" and took himself to bed rather than watch the dirge that was being dished up. So anyway, yeah, I'd say to your son "it's always Saints first, but no harm in watching other teams/players, but always Saints first". Just don't let him support another premier league team, too many of those types already. I rolled my eyes at a Man United 'fan' at work the other day. "I'm a huge Man United fan" he tells me, never been, barely watches on TV, didn't understand my 6-3 reference. Bore off. I hate the premier league. Anyway ...
  15. That good?? You're generous. Dibling has also been kicked out of the game, someone on here predicted that a couple of weeks ago too. Les I don't see the fascination with, YET, maybe I'm missing something? Walker-Peters not being on the pitch is criminal. Yes we all loved Fraser last year, but he shouldn't be playing at this level. And then we have 3 players from 2 relegated teams who went down without a fight in the squad. Amazing recruitment. The club (as a whole) has really fked this up with piss poor recruitment and extending Martin's contract.
  16. Piss poor recruitment to stay in this league. Piss poor tactics. Manager strolling around looking all woe is me. I don't blame the players, many of them are not good enough but that's not their fault.
  17. Very sad, loved reading his articles Condolences to his family
  18. Just got someone to play long ball football up to a tall player and pacy wide men - we have all of those.
  19. True delight to watch United play. Seriously though, if. hear one more moron refer to them as "united", I'll lose the plot - I moaned at someone at work this week and came back with the old Cambridge, Newcastle, West Ham (etc) comment. And that was a load of crap, gulf in spending power shows, but I would at least expect a competent Saints team to attempt some shots on target. This lot look WAY off the pace compared to Nigel Adkin's Saints that came up with Lambert scoring against Man United and Man City early in the season. Piss poor.
  20. Also, not fkn news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn5r5nk4ry6o ... FFS!
  21. This is not fkn news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c89w4110n89o 😡
  22. `I have a lot of American colleagues and friends and whenever they share pictures of their food, it is pretty much all meat - mostly red meat and served with sweet, sugary BBQ type sauces. Stereotypically, the only vegetable ever in sight is corn, smothered in butter and salt, washed down with beer. Going back to the table in the tweet shared further up of western vs med diets, of course in the med they eat red meat, but they eat proportionally a lot less red meat than fresh vegetables, they use tomatoes and olive oil as sauce bases and wash down with water and red wine. There is a HUGE difference in food styles. Sadly many in this country idolise the US version that diet rather than the med version. Actually take pizza, a proper pizza isn't actually that unhealthy, it's a thin base, fresh tomatoes, v little cheese, basil etc. A US pizza ... thick as fk dough, covered in cheese. Vile. I was in the south of France (between Cannes and Antibes) at the start of summer and I'm always amazed at their supermarkets - the variety of fresh food (local too) is stunning, it is so easy to knock up quality, tasty, healthy food - and cheap too.
  23. I always forgot how genius he was at standup, thanks for sharing! Brilliant!
  24. "cheat code" 😡
