I hadn't noticed that, bloody hell ... they are shocking! Unsurprising no new manager bounce for them either ...
-
I assume you've never worked with Germans before?

Sadly from what I saw he was still one of the negatives. He did seem to look a bit more lively and his run forward with the ball, whilst slow, was controlled. However there was one bit where the ball was passed back by a Charlton player, Downs was onside and seemed shocked that the ball had gone past him, like his whole world stood still for a minute before he reacted. I'm still hoping there is a good player in there and am ready to be delighted, but whether it's lack of confidence or nerves or just incredibly slow processing of the speed of English football, who knows. He should definitely be getting 90 mins in the U21s regularly though.

Easy answer, pay the men less ........

Oi ... SFC ... give us a job coaching ... Me: why is playing 5 centre backs a good idea for a football club in the championship playing charlton atheletic? GPT: Playing five centre-backs (or a back five made mostly of centre-backs) can actually make sense in certain Championship matchups—including against a side like Charlton Athletic—depending on your squad strengths and the opponent’s style. Here are the key reasons why it can be a good idea: etc etc GPT again: If you want, I can help you design an ideal back-five tactical plan, including: Player roles Press triggers Build-up structure How to score on the counter against Charlton. Me: Sure, go for it GPT: LOADS OF STUFF, honestly, LOADS of it and this ... Keep distances tight (Championship teams score when back lines stretch) Do not press high for long spells—be selective Wing-backs must be fit enough to defend deep AND counter Middle CB must communicate constantly Direct transitions are more effective than slow build-up Me: If the football club playing 5 centre backs is Southampton, what does the starting 11 look like? GPT: Bazunu Stephens — Harwood-Bellis — Quarshie — Edwards — Wood Downes — Charles — Jander Armstrong — Archer

Why is there zero update from the club? I mean, I don't expect to kept informed on recruitment, but at least an update on the plan would be nice - the silence is just a bit weird. It's not hard to share a "Hi loyal, paying, fanbase, the update is ... ... We are waiting on a candidate to be available ... We are giving Eckert a couple more games ... We are looking at bringing in someone to help Eckert ... Recruitment is challenging, but ... "

Whom out of Still and Eckert is actively employed by SFC? 🌚

Sorry I only follow Ronaldo.

Ahhhh thank you ... just couldn't put a name to the face!

Should just rebuild the gas tower and stick a new ground in it (wtf is this? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly9y030r37o) and build a huge flyover the top like some kind of statement road, the highest road in the world or something. New statue needed of Morse's cock too. Where's the statement? Pft.

Don't shoot me, but who is that saying that? I don't recognise the face.

Same, in a box in my garage with other boxes of stuff that I boxed up when I left home in 1997 or so - probably wouldn't work now. Good shout on Amazon Prime, thanks though Turkish!

I mean what a list. That ladies and gentlemen is the Sports Republic list of managers, fkn useless. I would agree with Ralph number 1 and the rest equal shit, including the current interim guy.

Wonder if Wolves had to pay compensation for him then? Win win.

This is so true. I remember at school playing inter house football one year, I was left back for my house team and we came up against another house who on the right wing had a player in the Saints academy (not sure it was called that in 1998-2000 but whatever), he had speed and control and I was left looking like a statue every time. Remember being shouted at by our housemaster and thinking "you deal with him you old cunt" 🤣

I'm not so sure, I don't know if it was my imagination, but sitting there watching on Saturday I saw more effort than before - I actually think they've stepped up a gear. I'm not saying that's to do with the manager, but maybe there was a lack of effort under Still? That's how I observed it anyway. Put it another way, goals aside, I was less bored in that match than the previous ones 😂

Good grief, I'd forgotten about Maitland Niles ... bloody hell. Imagine him and Cornet together, formidable loans.
-
Nice that you are Still here, good luck for your future role ...
-
Ah sorry to hear that, my condolences to his family
-
My thoughts entirely - at least he has some experience and he knows the league(s) here.
-
Yeah I find the Gary O'Neil thing silly. He grew up in south London, happened to choose the Portsmouth academy and played for Middlesbrough for nearly as long as he played for Portsmouth. However, I don't think he has the best managerial record despite his experience ... ?
-
Get Eileen Drewery in. Is Glenn Hoddle available to manage as well? 🌚
-
Yeah and Solak cuddling Le Tissier all the way up the stairs. They better get this right ...
