Personally i was very disapointed in him .. time and time again he never made life difficult enough for the wide man to send a cross in//was standing too far off his man making it easy for him to deliver..,. needs to get much closer to deny the oppprtunity to cross the ball . To be fair tho if those covering behind him werent giving him the information that "cover was on" he would naturally stand off .

Who can be sure that Markus would have sold up once we are back in the premiership.. its been stated that he loved the club and wanted to see it perform on the finest stages but within the bounds of respectable outlay ..my opinion is that he wouldnt have sold it at all regardless ... he chose us ..and grew to love us .. making a fast buck out of Southampton Football Club had disappeared from his intitial agenda IMHO .

Our Godfather and saviour has passed on but he will be in the hearts and minds of this great club forever for what he has done for us all. May you look down on us with pride great man. Thank you Markus R.I.P -
Even if he didnt ( which many cant believe) .. many hundreds of saints fans were left feeling ripped off by this mans false promises on our day at Wembley..were they not ? He then goes on in a attempt to make representation of behalf of Saints fans ??? .. i can see why nicola cannot take him seriously and appears to have turned his back on him even if a few on here cant .

Nope..not a clue .. but im confident that there will be a few cracking players joining us...

The skipper of the belgrano has since admitted that the belgano group ( including 2 destroyers fully armed with exorcet missiles)were only saling away from the exclusion zone temperarily and was fully intending to take up further offensive positions later that day. The group was fully armed and in the skippers own words were " trigger happy". Regardless...it was military shipping in a declared war zone that were not on a sightseeing pleasure outing and therefore when the opportinity arose to take their threat away it was taken....with the eventual outcome that the argy navy ALL returned to port and were never a threat to our forces again during the whole conflict.

Sorry to correct you but i think you will find that it was the labour govt that initiated the cuts to the armed forces in 77...including the disbandment of 16 parachute brigade..and in one foul swoop our emergency response time to such an event as the falklands was diminished from 72 hours ( as it would have been had the para brigade been left alone) to 3 bloody weeks to sail the battalions down there!..of course by which time the argies had time to reinforce and prepare defensive positions. Lessons were learnt very quickly post falklands and an airborne brigade was reformed soon after. Airborne all the way !! God and the next king are airborne!! Airbore soldiers dont die..they go to hell and regroup!! Just in case you were interested lol

Yep .. and the belgrano laden with fully armed combat troops..no question that it was the right call. Thatcher may have been a few things unsavoury to some but the lady had iron balls when it came to British sovereignty and pretecting our borders.

Could the cups have dented promotion this season..?
eastleighhalo replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
The cup runs had no bearing at all IMO..it was just the bare facts that we hardly had a pre season.. didnt have a proper team when the season kicked off ..and that it took us NINE games to register our first win. -
My mind may be a bit fuddled but i thought he may have managed us in a caretaker role for at least one game some years ago ?? ...anyone ??

For what its worth Stu i also ended up at the Green Man ...fantastic !!

Well put Sam . Damon is also a great friend of mine and he has also told me how dismayed he was at the shambles that was Silverspoons last Sunday. He fully acknowledges that all that was promised in the promotion just wasnt there and is equally as annoyed about that as all those that paid a tenner for their tickets. Damon wasnt ( and didnt expect) any payment for his efforts however was informed he could have a few mates on a guest list .. I was one of those mates and was refused entry as a guest! I know Damon feels as stiched up as all those that paid good money so ask those who are slating him to back off a bit .. his intentions were 1st class

Anyway there will be much more than 44 000 saints fans ,,plenty of others ( like myself) have club wembley tickets. As mentioned elsewhere this will be the largest gathering of saints fans in a stadium EVER ... I reckon nearer 50 000
