DC is the best forward thinking class act in this division... no question about it ! ... and im so so ****ing pleased he is a Saint ....this guy has come back to fitness to be available at exactly the right time for us imho... he was always gonna be a great signing for us .....now we we will reap the rewards. His experience movement and class is way above anyithng any other team has got ///he will provide all we need to put us over the finishing line im sure .

A note worthy of some mention is that i came back from Brighton by train yesterday and due to disruption caused by railway line works all trains back to Southampton were being re routed and passengers had to change trains at.... Fratton ! The staff there were pondering the potential of having to deal with Skate , Swansea and Saints fans there all at the same time today. One of them seemed mightily relieved that his shift was finishing at 4. 45 pm while the others were considering whether or not they were getting paid enough to go to work today ! lol My comment to them was that all they needed was to have some Cardiff fans turn up and they would have the full house lol

IMO we will start with the same set up as Saturday but with Fraser replacing Butters and Dale replacing Chaps ..they have earned a break.. Guly to score at least 2 goals.
-
fabulous footballer playing behind the front two ..when the wavelengths click together between him and ricky/barny we will be unstoppable
-
oh what a day that was !! But for those that are slating guly id say back off... for me he looked immense playing behind the front two.. admittedly things didnt quite come off in the time he was on the pitch ..hence the changes that were made. But for me he was the one player first half that made us tick and threaten. Jonno came on and made the impact that the manager knew he could make BUT once we were ahead i was ****ting myself about his defensive qualitites TBH ! ...but you cant have it both ways eh lol I was pleased to see dale come on and look so assured ..looks to be a bloody good catch and im sure he will prove that over time.. Chaps is having a bit of a lean time at the mo with his distribution and although no one could fault his effort but maybe its time for him to have a rest on tuesday me thinks ..christ hes earned it so far this season thats for sure. The right back replacement for me was spot on too...we looked so much better and secure down the right side for it in the last part of the game ..nothing against butterfield at all ...hell hes been a rock there..but the season is a long one at this level and the freshness we have in abundence is there for all to see... Our SQUAD can make auto promo happen ..IM SURE !!

His biggest mistake was leaving us to go to Sunderland... he had a great thing going down here but he failed in dramatic fashion in the north east and his tenor at Sunderland was nothing short of a disaster.

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
eastleighhalo replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Jeez take a chill pill some of you guys .. a point at Charlton is hardly the disaster some of you think it is.... and if Chambo and Adam were to pick up knocks id rather it was in this game with a full 11 days til our next one.. young lads quick healers etc . And i find it quite galling that some of you have no intention of supporting the newer members of our squad whetever they do .. Nguessan and Forte just might need you as much as we may need them from now so bloody get behind them and let them feel wanted and needed....no one is ever gonna produce a performance full of confidence with half the crowd slating them FFS! .. -
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .. we are red and white stripes ... end of ! lol The sash has been bought in for the season for all the right reasons...but its served its purpose me thinks
-
Personally i find it gut wrenching when most of the other teams around us win yet again..its definately a case of waiting for a couple of teams to crack under the pressure..lets pray it wont be us. Its ok having the games in hand BUT we have simply got to win them at the moment. I would breath a lot easier if /when we can afford at least a couple of slip ups ( ala Walsall etc) ....im not sure thats gonna happen tho . Having said all that i STILL think that Brighton will wobble hence the league is there to be won so thats gotta be our ultimate aim.
-
LOL ..I did the survey and the question regarding when i would be least likely to attend games i chose both weekends AND weekdays... me BAD.... well i am bored !!!

Drew will make the a full England squad within 2 years if he gets to the premier league and stays injury free IMO

I would put paul jones above brucie and beasant personally

Anyone else starting to worry about fixture pile-up ?
eastleighhalo replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
worry ye not .. as long as we get into a winning habit the points will come thick and fast... we will be like a well oiled machine ...the strength in depth thing will hopefully show its worth as well . I once managed a side in the old Hampshire league div 1 and we had 17 games to play in 6 weeks .. we won 14 and drew 3 of them to win the title coming behind from about 7th place pipping the likes of Netley Central , Blackfield and Langley, Fleetlands and Moneyfields in the process .. ah they were the days lol -
How many games can we afford to lose from now on?
eastleighhalo replied to CWD's topic in The Saints
The league is tighter this year than it has been for a while so perhaps not so many points will be required for auto promotion this time round... our target must still be to win this league tho regardless.. Brighton are making a great surge for the title at the mo but our aim is to catch them then all other arguments are null and void ... can we do it ?? ... too bloody right we can !! Get behind the team guys and support every one of them to make this happen... them new boys will prove the doubters wrong im sure IF they are supported in the right way ... 18 games and 54 points to play for ... BELIEF is the key word here .. give the players it and they will deliver. COYR !!!! -
the solution is to wear two sets of footy socks with the pads over the first pair and the team socks on top.. problem should be solved... good luck anyway

Protest about Pardews sacking and the running of the club...?????? Are these people from another planet????? Decisions that had to be made have been made in the best interests of Southampton Football Club.,,granted some will not have been that popular with some but have been made regardless. Gee.. people have short memories about where we were less than 15 months ago.

Paul Hart at evens favourite now ! Shearer 3/1 ..

Seems that there are plenty who would oppose Glenn coming back ..IMO hes only one of the 2 men i can see taking us forward with proven credentials .. the other is Martin Oneill and i think that one is unlikely . If Glenn REALLY wants to come back and complete his "unfinished business" with SFC i say give him the job.
-
Im sorry to see Pards go and IMO the only 2 i can think of that would tick all the boxs to replace him are Martin Oneill (unlikely) and Glenn Hoddle. ( much more likely). Glenn has openly admitted he has "unfinished business" at SFC and while some have still not forgiven him for doing the unthinkable on us at least he has the undoubted credentials for us to succeed.....if he REALLY wants the job i say give it to him . Anyone with lesser proven credentials would be a massive step backwards.
